What a sad place, The last 3 times I had my Lance Cali Classic serviced at HB-scooters, every time I picked it up and drove off, it had an issue. The owner of HB Scooters denied every time that they were related even though some were proven to be related and others too unlikely that they must have been caused by the repairs. This all coincided with the son of the owner replacing the main mechanic. Let's just say that family bias makes blind and my questioning the quality of repairs and high-lighting off the fact that every time I got my bike back, something else was immediately a problem, was met with unfriendly behavior to say the least. Last time of service the owner became outright aggressive and I left as usual feeling yipped but had to pay-up. Recently I came back there one last time with a question, since I bought my scooter there, I was told NOT to come at HB - scooters anymore due to my behavior. Apparently it is not done questioning the service provided with this authoritarian person, especially if performed by his less than mechanically inclined son. My advice, go somewhere else if you want normal and continues service and have good repairs and not met with aggression. read more

This was my first time purchasing a scooter and it's been something I've wanted to do for a few years now. I couldn't have chosen a better shop. First I was emailing with the owner to get additional information and make sure I was prepared wiht everything I needed before making the 40 minute drive. I went in with an idea of what I wanted but once there the owner's wife (I feel terrible for not remembering her name) had me try a few other scooters and really made sure I was comfortable with what I would be riding. Not only did I not feel pressured to buy anything but when I did, I received so many helpful tips. Bought a bike about a year ago and while the sellers seemed nice when purchasing they also didn't tell me that since the bike is Taiwanese (SYM/Lance Havana Classic) , that finding any service stations are extremely difficult. That leaves ONLY THEM which is 45 mins away and if it's not ridable it would require $120 from my place to theirs using the transport company they contract with OR places that will work on it which are near impossible to find due to it being Taiwanese! I just feel they absolutely should have warned about this along with the brand not having any parts to really find in case of needed replacement. On top of that I had to call about a issue I thought at the time I was having (newbie here) and if it was covered under warranty, I think I got the son on the line who beratted me for not riding it and telling me how stupid and irresponsible I was, he doesn't know my life and why I hadn't been able to ride it at that time, I found him extremely rude and that is what caused me to not even trust them any more. They referred me to a top notch personal injury attorney and we kept in touch through the seven months while my attorney obtained a fair settlement for my case. After receiving my settlement check on Friday last week, I was able to purchase an upgrade from my Lance PCH. I am now the proud owner of a Cushman II Deluxe Highlander as of last Saturday. I bought my 2015 Lance Cabo here, I love the bike! It was on special $2,200 out the door. So from a product stand point honestly the best scooter for the price no questions asked! I'm only hang up with the place is the cost for an oil change is almost $50 bucks! The thing takes next to no oil and there is no new oil filter going in the thing!? So that kind of rubs me the wrong way. But you need to go through them so they'll honor the warranty. Long Story short. In 2010 a scooter company called Hammerhead starts making the LaVita. It looks exactly like an old Vespa from the 60's. I bought this beautiful bike from Dave and Vesna from HB Scooters and was very happy for a few months. But the bike has 1 huge problem. The muffler falls off every 1000 miles. The manufacture Hammerhead fulfilled its warranty at first but after 7000 miles and 4 mufflers in one year they decided their 2 year warranty doesn't mean shit anymore. Luckily HB Scooters is righting the manufacturer's wrong. Dave gets one of his own mufflers, takes it to a welder, modifies it and slaps it back on. This new muffler is smaller and looks twice as sturdy. I have high hopes. (Note, this probably costs HB hundreds of dollars, when really its the manufacturer's problem not the independent dealer's responsibility) I was smitten by this beautiful retro Vespa Lookalike. I think Dave was too. He wasn't the only one. A lot of people in the scooter community were really excited about its low price point and seemingly decent quality. It had mostly positive reviews on the web in early 2011. Did I make a good decision to buy a LaVita? No. But did i pick best possible dealer to buy this headache from? Absolutely. Hammerhead should stand behind their product, its their warranty. Instead this little scooter shop in HB is fronting the bill to do what right. Today Dave and Vesna's showroom is filled with their dependable bread and butter Cali Classic Taiwanese bike. They have other bikes including Honda's classic Super Cub that is being manufactured by Sym (Taiwanese). But the LaVitas are long gone... Dave and Vesna at HB Scooters are true people of integrity. I know they are now losing money on the Scooter they sold me but they know its the right thing to do. Besides always fixing my bike even after the manufacturer left us High and Dry, Dave has given me free maintenance numerous times including a free oil change. The other day he even gave me a pair of gloves. I know its kind of a weird experience to give someone 5 stars for but I have a lot of respect for a business that is going above and beyond to fix a mistake. read more

I am very happy with the deal I got, the treatment I received and the bike. They delivered the bike to my home in Westminster in less than an hour. I could not say enough good things about HB Scooters!! I bought my Havana Classic from them in August 2012. I had done my homework so I knew what I was looking for. Dave and Vesna could not have been more helpful. They showed me all the scoots that they sell and pointed out all the pros and cons of each one. When it came time to make the purchase I could not believe the deal they gave me. I do not know how they make a profit on these scooters. Also they include free delivery, they do all the paperwork for the DMV, all you have to do is the ride the scoot. Since my purchase 21 months ago, I have had all the service on my scooter done by them. I would not let another shop touch my scooter. When I have service or repair done by them I know it is done right. This is an important aspect. When you are on a scooter you need to know your scooter is running right because there is only air between you and the pavement. And within the 1st year the engine blew out and HB Scooters refuses to repair - even though they sold me the scooter with a 2-year warranty!!! Despite being less than 1 year through a 2 year warranty, HB Scooters will NOT honor it and fix scooter. The owner instead simply said the damage is the "owner's fault", to charge full price for the repair. Can't believe a place does business like this. I cannot CANNOT say more good things about HB scooters. Vesna and Dave were unbelievably helpful with my SYM wolf purchase. Vesna broke down how other shops rip you off with their inflations despite advertising it at a price of $2999 and the bike ended up costing me at least $600 less at HB. She let me ride with a temp helmet while she ordered the one I needed and took care of my registration at the shop. Dave was amazing at explaining how to use the bike and we had a great chat about so many other things. Their mechanic (who's name I did not get) was great at explaining some post purchase questions I had. From start to finish they went beyond the call of duty to make sure I felt comfortable and felt good about the purchase. They set it up so it would get delivered to my job so I could get rid of the rental car I had much sooner. The SYM has been sold out basically everywhere in Cali and they called me when it got to the dock, when it got to the shop, when she had my paperwork ready, when the delivery guy had the bike and what time I should expect them. They recommended a good bank for financing and insurance and everything went as smoothly as possible. They'll make you want to have them over for Thanksgiving dinner! Even though their shop is an hour from my job I will definitely be coming here for my maintenance and any, future, upkeep. High praises for HB Scooters and everyone who owns/works there. read more

I purchased the Lance Cali Classic 150cc in white and I love it. The owners are professional and caring and gave a 10% military discount. My hubby is Army and just got home from a deployment.
