The thought of handing over irreplaceable memories in the form of old home movies was nerve racking to me but after meeting their team I was very confident they would do a great job, and they did! They request that you label each and every tape you provide to them with your contact information to ensure that nothing gets lost which not every company does but I think is very necessary. They are also very realistic when estimating when your items will be ready for pickup which I really appreciated. If you need your tapes done by a certain date, make sure you tell them and that you give them enough time. For example, if you give them a 6-hour tape, it's going to take them 6 hours to transfer it so remember to be patient if you have a lot of items. Harold was thorough in explaining everything to me: what I needed to do in order to get my tapes to him, and what he would do when he received them. It took a little extra time ("in case you didn't know, a hurricane came through here" :-), but he couldn't have been nicer and got my disks to me in a great and professional way. I was very satisfied with the end product. I had over 80 items including 8mm tapes, VHS tapes, 8mm movie reels and a SDHC. Some were over 70 years old and the quality of my material was highly variable. It took extra effort to access all the material (including using different 8mm playback cameras). I had a 45 year old 8-track tape that was physically damaged. Harold was able to retrieve the contents of the tape, put it in a working mechanism and painstakingly transferred the contents to CD. This was a difficult job - one that most would not take on or declare impossible. He had to charge me more than his normal fee because it took him several additional hours to do the work. But his price was fair and he did the work in a timely manner. He even sent me 4 copies of the transfer on CD for free! I've been going through boxes and boxes of family memorabilia, and have had video tapes scanned by a variety of companies, often because of come-ons from groupon and similar. The results have been mediocre. Scanned videos come back with lots of playback interference, or all the people in them look like elves (unnaturally tall and thin) or hobbits (incorrectly short and fat).
