The park was erected in hope that the ideals of Camelot and King Arthur would be reflected on the campus of Hopkinsville Community College. Walking towards the park you have a lovely sense of arrival seeing the pillar entrance to the park and the blossoming trees. It reminds me of a Japanese torii, a sacred gateway between heaven and earth and entrance to temples and shrines in Japan. This is definitely not your typical park. The sword in the stone and the round table in the park are very iconic and reminiscent of King Arthur. Yet, I loved everything about the park including the statues and architecture. This is a unique place to wander, enjoy Nature, and share with friends and loved ones.

The park is located on the campus of the University of Kentucky Hopkinsville Community College. Parking on the left side of the lot will lead you straight to the pathway to the Roundtable Park. There are lots of trees overhead, and the park can't be seen from the road. It truly is a little hidden gem. The round table is huge, and every time I've ever seen it I discover something I didn't notice before (this week I noticed N, S, E, & W we're located on the edges). It's massive. There is a Graeco-Roman Amphitheatre, and not only is it cool to look it, or maybe sit and imagine that you lived in an entirely different era, each step is a workout! You can't miss the scary, creepy statue of the woman, as my daughter used to call it when she was younger. I think it's an amazing piece of art, and fitting for where it is. I can only suggest that you look at my photos. It's hard to find the words to be descriptive. If you find yourself in Hoptown, hop on over to the Round Table Literary Park. Bring a book!

Maybe because I went to a matinee on a weekday, I wasn't searched. But I also brought a very small, clear bag that showed I was only carrying the bare essentials. The ticket prices (I saw two movies) are the lowest I've seen, around 12 bucks. I realize they are more expensive for evening shows, but this is still beyond reasonable. The theaters are large and the recliners are comfy. They have stadium seating and some theaters have partitions. They have swivel tables for food. In the beginning of the show, if you order at the concession stand, they'll bring your food to you. I had a couple of their drinks (yes, you can have cocktails while you watch). They are sugary and nothing spectacular, but that's okay. It's a theater staffed by high school and college aged students, not cocktail connoisseurs. I was hungry between movies, so I had some of their cheese fries. Again, okay. The fries themselves were hot and well seasoned, but I could have done without all the nacho cheese and ranch dressing (I realize that's the appeal for some people). For a large plate of cheese fries and a double shot drink, I paid about 38 bucks. Honestly, that isn't crazy to me given what I ordered. They also have popcorn, pretzels (which is what I wanted, but they were unable to make them that day), hotdogs, pizza, burgers. They also have places to sit in the lobby as well as a small table you can park at to eat. Everyone on staff was super nice and helpful. Some of them were very conversational about the films playing. The auditoriums were clean, as were the bathrooms. I am pleased with my experience here and think this was just the first of many matinees in my future.

When we got to our seats, we saw that the background on the stage said "Divas of Soul" and at 7 PM the audience was informed that it was a 90 minute show with an intermission. We felt like we were totally misled about the show, even though it was good. My husband and I ended up missing our dinner reservation because of the length of the show. Do better Alhambra!!! Advertise your show and times correctly. We drove 2 1/2 hours to see a Tina Turner show and that's not what we were given. On the plus side the theater is beautiful. And everyone was exceptionally nice.

We had dinner and drinks at one of the restaurants. The Hampton property was pet friendly, although with this Hilton property, the pet fee is $75 pre-tax, while all of the others on our stay were post tax or sans tax, so this one ended up being $85+ for a pet. The room had a fridge, a nightlight, and usb charging ports, which was nice. We booked through a third party due to a gift card, and were booked in room 214. Upon check in, we asked if we could be moved to a top floor and were told it wasn't possible due to the third party reservation. We were trying to avoid overhead floor noise, which didn't end up being a problem. Instead, our room was behind the Hampton "tower" over the main floor entry. The tower was directly in front of our windows, and the automatic sliding doors while opening and closing all night vibrated along the tower and woke us up every 15 minutes to every couple of hours. It was not a good night of rest and relaxation at all. We've spoken to the third party multiple times and spoken to the hotel staff multiple times, and have been told we would receive a token reimbursement, but after a week nothing has been done. If you are affected by noise at all while you sleep, if you're in room 214 hopefully you can be relocated.

I made a reservation for this hotel to spend my last of two nights away from the Clarion Pointe…read moreHotel (you can read my review on that) and the reservation directly with the hotel was pretty quick. When I checked in for the hotel, I was given two snacks (Shortbread Cookie and Planters Trail mix) along with a water bottle. So one can see how the customer service greatly differed. One issue I found was the elevator, which is pretty slow. When I got to my room, it opened up to a King Suite (which was what I was reserved for, pictures 103 and 109 on this Yelp hotel entry). Bar area, lounge area, t.v. that can be seen from all parts of the room because the t.v. can be turned (very innovative, whomever thought of that). The cable options are limited as out of 39 channels in the guide, only like 24 channels are on air. Discovery and History seem to have the shows that I usually watch on business trips and I think History was off air. No Travel channel, which is another channel I usually watch. Sports channels are also limited: ESPN, ESPN 2 and FS1. One other issue I found was that the sink drain did not drain normally. The coffee machine had cups, coffee, packs with stirrers and sugar, and sleeves. I mean this was a complete 180 from the Clarion! I know Hampton Inn could be a whole another tier of hotel as compared to a Choice Hotel; however, it was nice to see this after witnessing what I did on my first night at the Clarion. 10/08 The breakfast was great. There was omelet du fromage (cheese omelet), sausage patties, and scalloped potatoes with pepper and what tasted as lime juice squeezed on it. There was also baked goods, make your own waffles, and yogurt (Yoplait brand). Definitely a step up from Clarion, in the area. This stay was a huge turnaround as there are at least other options of good hotels in the Hopkinsville area. If the only issues were that the sink in 302 was slightly clogged and the elevator being slow, then there are no other reasons as to why I would give this hotel a four. Hilton seems to keep their properties to a high standard and are consistent with their services.

Then they give you simples of bourbon whisky and moonshine.

Hubs actually was exploring our route and discovered this place so we bookmarked it in case we had time. Both times we visited, we were kind of strapped for time so we have yet to go on the tour. They do allow for tastings of their many boozes but they limit it to 6 or 8, which is very smart. I think we did not have that many our recent trip. Since we purchased 6 bottles our first trip (they give a discount for 6+ bottles), we were already familiar and wanted to try some of their new items. Both times we visited, we brought in our dog and she received a lot of attention. They have dog toys so of course I had to buy her one each time. Now those are really expensive! The prices vary for their bottles, maybe averaging about $55. Some are cheaper and many are more expensive than that. They also sell merchandise in the same room you do the tastings. We never have time but they do free tours and I wanna say they last about 45 minutes. It is in the middle of nowhere so it's not like you can make a day out of it any stay in town, while filling up an entire itinerary for a day. We really enjoy their bourbon and keep stock of the Blueberry and Mint Julep flavored bourbons. Everyone is always hospitable when we visit and that motivated us more to support them!
