    Very comfortable seating

Heard about The Showbox from my awesome barber, Heather L. at 2 Heathers in Clarksville. Went online and got tickets to see The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes. Once we arrived the staff was friendly and helpful. The concession prices are reasonable and being able to get an affordable mixed adult beverage was a bonus. The seating is a bit far from the screen, considering the size of the screen. I look forward to coming back and trying the dinner theater, oh yes that is a thing here.

    Front shot. Very attractive.

Had my kids for the weekend and decided to take them and my wife to this new theater (or "theatre" for those that care about old spelling) over the weekend. To start, the place was very impressive as far as cleanliness is concerned and everything looked new. To be fair however, they did just complete a full remodel, so I guess that's expected? As we all know, cleanliness can change the outlook of any business, but especially theaters where we sit for an extended period and eat, so kudos to them for setting that standard. Couple things I need to mention though before y'all head out there: 1) we initially went there because we wanted to enjoy a meal as advertised while we watched a movie, however they only a meal (dinner) at the 6:00pm showing, so keep that in mind before choosing which movie to go see. 2) they actively search any bag brought in before going to see the movie to ensure you don't sneak in any snacks and passively ensure you buy the extremely overpriced snack bar food. I'm honestly conflicted about this-on one hand I get why they do it and don't fault them for it, but on the other hand...I mean, that's a historical thing people do...and they do it because they don't want to pay $10 for a freaking soda...so I get that as well. They were very cordial and service was awesome and the joint was clean, so that alone gets a lot of props from this guy, but the active bag search is a tad on the chincy side. Showbox, focus on making your business a place people want to go and that will pull in revenue. Searching people's bags will probably only serve to push people away, whether you agree or disagree, so need to think about that.

I went to the Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Event in the Wilson Theater. It was catered by Manila Subs. The event, food, and drinks were free. This was the first event I ever attended in the Wilson Theater. There was a lot of seats available. The place was well decorated. Everyone got leis and were well fed. The food and drinks were delicious and plentiful. The food options consisted of Filipino, Japanese, Korean, American, Hawaiian, and other Asian food: Kimbap, Chicken Adobo, Japanese sticky rice, sushi, Hawaiian Spam Museabi Banana Fritters, Garden Salad, Kimchi, Lumpia, Banana Bread, Puto, Pancit, Rolls, and other foods. The owner of Manila Subs, Marylou, was very hospitable , kind, and gave me her business card. She said this was the largest event she ever catered (400 people). Her staff was a pleasure to talk to as well. The entertainment was stellar. The guest speaker was Major (RET) Tom Hara. He spoke about Asians in the military. From what I was told it was difficult to find a military Asian or Pacific Islander for a speaker at an even. It is also rare to see so many incredible dance performances from different Asian countries. I enjoyed the entertainment very much. It was a great day and event in Fort Campbell. My favorite so far.

It is in fact old. it is downtown on the main street in the old part of town. It still has a classy name like theaters had in the old days, complete with neon signage to that effect. For those of us of a certain age it's nostalgic, especially for those of us who grew up in a small town. Princeton has done a good job of preserving its bucolic small town charm, and the theater fits into that very well. I don't even live in Princeton, yet for me it's a taste of heaven when I can occasionally visit and walk the downtown and see a movie at the Capitol. And the refreshments are much more reasonably priced as compared to fancier theaters in bigger cities. I usually buy something even if I'm not that hungry, just to help support the theater. I'd never do that in some big-city multiplex! To be fair, there are some things that could stand improvement. The theater overall is in pretty good condition. But a few of the seats have seen their better days. I've always been pleased with the picture quality, but the sound needs some work. Some times it hasn't been as clear or as loud as I'd like it to be. Sometimes I've watched a movie and during quieter scenes I could overhear the sound of another movie that was having a loud scene ( and I tend to like movies that have many quiet scenes). But I can be patient until those flaws are remedied. That aren't many old theaters left nowadays, and especially in small towns. Princeton, you are fortunate to have this treasure. Support it.
