Christian Brothers Automotive - Professional, Honest, and Reliable…read more I recently took my 2014 Audi S4 to Christian Brothers Automotive in New Braunfels for routine maintenance, and my experience reaffirmed why they are my go-to shop. Over time, I've learned that you can tell a lot about a repair shop not just by how they perform regular service, but by how they handle unexpected issues. Services Performed: During this visit, I had the following work done: BG Brake System Service - A full brake fluid exchange using BG DOT 4 Ultra-Dry Premium Brake Fluid, following the correct OEM procedure. They also inspected my entire brake system for leaks and worn components to ensure everything was in top shape. Mobil 1 Synthetic Oil Change (0W-40)- A complete oil change using Mobil 1 full synthetic oil, along with a new OEM oil filter. They also allowed me to provide my own engine flush bottle, which I greatly appreciated, car has 213k original miles. Courtesy Inspection - A thorough multi-point check to identify any potential issues. Additional Oil (Above 5 Quarts) - Since my Audi requires more than 5 quarts, they added the correct additional amount to ensure proper lubrication. Engine Bay Cleaning & Fluids Top-Off- More on this below, but after addressing a minor issue, they went the extra mile to clean my engine bay and top off my fluids. A Minor Issue & How They Handled It: A few days after my visit, I noticed an oil leak, which turned out to be from a slightly loose oil filter housing. These things happen, but how a shop corrects a mistake says everything about their integrity and professionalism. I returned and spoke politely with the manager, explaining my concern. Without hesitation, they: - Inspected my vehicle immediately - Confirmed and fixed the issue on the spot - Cleaned my engine bay to remove any leaked oil residue - Topped off all my fluids at no charge Their commitment to making things right without excuses or delays is why I will continue to trust them with my vehicles. Why I Choose Christian Brothers Over the Dealership: I used to take my cars to the dealership, but since switching to Christian Brothers, I've realized several key advantages: Better Pricing- Every time I compare, Christian Brothers quotes me significantly less than the dealership for the same services. OEM Parts Used - They have consistently used Audi-spec OEM parts, ensuring my car is maintained to factory standards. Excellent Customer Service - The service advisors, including Brandon Ochs, are always transparent and professional. They take the time to explain recommendations without upselling unnecessary repairs. Honest & Fair Recommendations - While they pointed out additional recommended services (like valve cover gaskets, suspension components, and spark plugs), they didn't pressure me to approve them immediately. I appreciate a shop that gives honest advice while allowing me to prioritize repairs on my own terms. Proven Reliability - This isn't my first visit. I now bring both of my Audis here for all maintenance and repairs. They've earned my trust through consistent, high-quality work. Final Thoughts - A Shop That Stands Behind Its Work As a manager myself, I regularly handle complaints and concerns in my line of work. No business is perfect, but what truly matters is how they address issues when they arise. Christian Brothers handled my concern with professionalism, urgency, and accountability. That level of service is why I no longer go to the dealer and will continue to rely on them for my automotive needs. If you're looking for a trusted, honest, and skilled repair shop in New Braunfels, Christian Brothers Automotive is an excellent choice. Highly recommended!

I had my brakes replaced elsewhere on 2/21/26. The mechanic showed me my old brakes and the new brakes. The old brakes looked barely worn. The brakes that I replaced measured at 15.875mm. So either CBA lied about inspecting my brakes at all, and just recommended being replaced due to mileage; or they tried to take advantage of me because I'm a woman.

The oil change was completed quickly, and the pricing was fair. I had originally scheduled an appointment with the dealership but canceled after reading several negative reviews. I'm glad I gave Brake Check a try instead. They earned my business with great customer service, efficiency, and clear communication. I'll definitely be back for future service.

Fact-check your Brake Check…read more We had our brake pads replaced at Brake Check a few weeks ago; the car had issues on a Sunday and this shop was open. Earlier this week, the brake pedal suddenly stopped responding properly. We carefully drove the car back to Brake Check (as we were guaranteed "brakes for life"), where we were told the master cylinder needed to be replaced and were quoted more than $600, supposedly with no labor charge. The following day, the estimate increased to more than $800 after labor was added. Given the change in pricing and concerns about the diagnosis (in lieu of other dishonesty), we decided to have the vehicle towed to our trusted local mechanic, David's Auto. After inspecting the car, David determined that the master cylinder was not the problem. The actual issue was covered under warranty, and the repair was completed at no cost. Brake Check saw an opportunity to capitalize on the naivety of two helpless women and ran with it. Based on this experience, I would encourage others to get a second opinion before approving major repairs. Brake Check yourself before you wreck yourself.
