I had just arrived in New Braunfels from Houston. I figured I needed an oil change because it felt like it. I was immediately serviced by the manager. I listened to him complain about the work that his employees didn't do right. They weren't working smarter, but only harder. He tried to persuade me to get add-ons like every Take 5, but I stood my ground and said no only oil change. I continue to sit in my vehicle listening to the manager. He was a nice guy and told me about his life/family. The car needed to be changed. He got me and out rather quickly since I did have plans the same day. It was nice. read more

Avoid This Place at All Costs I have gone to Take 5 Oil Change multiple times, trusting them to do something as basic as an oil change. Turns out that was a huge mistake. They never once told me there was a problem, and I've now found out that they failed to replace my oil cap--a plastic cap that is REQUIRED to be replaced at every oil change. This isn't optional, and any competent technician should know that. Because of their negligence, I'm now dealing with mechanical issues that could have been completely avoided. Now I'm stuck taking my car to a mechanic and spending God knows how much money fixing damage that never should have happened in the first place. All because Take 5 either didn't know what they were doing or didn't care enough to do it correctly. This is not a minor oversight. This is basic vehicle maintenance, and they failed--repeatedly. If you value your car, your money, or your peace of mind, do not trust this place. I absolutely regret ever going there and will never be back. read more

This is our favorite place to get our oil changed! They offer cold waters and friendly staff. They even wiped down our windshield and added windshield wiper fluid. They do tend to get busy, but it's worth any wait. They are also open til 8pm! read more

I had a great experience at Take 5 Oil. I was handed a cold water when I drove in, the gentlemen that worked there were kind and courteous, and no one tried to upsell me. Went for a state inspection. Pro tip: Make sure your insurance card has expiration date on it. First come first serve - there was a couple people waiting in line in front of me, but they were handing out cold water bottles which was nice of them. The staff was overall very friendly. Took my car into Take 5 for an auto inspection, and instead of waiting five minutes it ended up being like 25...... not realizing it, I left my lights on and so when it was my time to get my car inspected, my car's battery was dead. Dusty/Dustin was like the nicest guy in the whole world. He tried to jumpstart the car using one of their portable machines, but it didn't work. Then he drove his personal vehicle over and jumped my car which of course it started and he said I needed a new battery. He even was gonna go when he got off work to purchase one for me. Usually pretty good. Currently, I am sitting in a bay. I've been sitting here for an hour. It is 8:15 in the morning. When I got here nobody mentioned it was going to take this long. I would've definitely gone somewhere else since that was the case, seeing how early it was. They need to do better communication. And scheduling. My family and I could have perished in a fire. So I normally go to Walmart to get my oil changed but they had a 3 hour wait and I had a 4 hour drive to make and chose this place. My first impression was that they were very helpful and gave me a military discount and were done in 15 mins having also replaced my air filter. They also told me that some corrosion was on my battery and I should take note of it. I was off and had decided to come back here again. I made my 4 hour drive and parked my vehicle but on the way back someone noted that my car seemed to be leaking oil. I took a look and it seemed to be that a rather large puddle of oil was under the truck. I then noticed smoke coming from under the hood. I popped the hood and behold next to the oil filer a plastic schlotsky's deli cup half full of motor oil was melting against my engine and sm It just so happens Schlotskys deli is next door to this location...... I have no idea why they would leave a cup full of oil inside my engine to nearly catch fire. Very dangerous and incompetent. My family and I could have perished in a fire. read more

Went in for an inspection on my 2016 vehicle. COREY-told me "my passenger window was too tinted" IN ALL THE YEARS(since 2016) I've had my car it's ALWAYS passed inspection. This is a factory window, never have had it replaced OR TINTED. This was A NEW car that was purchased BACK IN 2016. It's been 8 years, 8 years of inspections and I've never had this happen. RIDICULOUS. Corey even suggested a window place to get it "fixed" - sounds to me like he's just WORKING WITH the window place. Do you get commission for that Corey? Terrible. read more

The price poster measures about 3' x 5'. The HIDDEN CHARGE IS ON THE VERY BOTTOM IN TINY PRINT. Sitting in your car you cannot even see it. THEY ARE INTENTIONALLY HIDING IT SHOWS UP ON YOR BILL. If I could give this place zero stars I would. I came in for a basic oil change on my Jetta & now my car literally will not start. Customer service sucks and they only give you the run around. The "manager" Tyler was not helpful. He just gave me the same customer service number that was on google & when I called the customer service number a lady named Shay hung up in my face ! I've taken my car there for a couple of years, due to time constraints. Mistake this past week. The techs were sloppy and forgot to put the cap back. My driveway is full of oil now. I have an uncommon vehicle that requires special oil and filter. I do have to bring my own oil and filter but they provide service without charging me a ridiculous price. They take the time to remove the 12 annoying bolts and not so light skid plate under my truck to properly service my vehicle.
