So I figured I'd try Scott because he was recommended by a neighbor, and I was shocked at how cheap the prices were and still are! So I figured it would take at least two haircuts for me to look human again and then finally maybe by the third month I could start building a decent head of hair again. Well literally I know that Scott works magic, and I walked out of there on that first visit with a punky and smart and sexy haircut I will never go anywhere else and I'm glad Scott is younger than I so I don't have to find somebody new Thank you so much for such high quality service, and over the years I have seen Scott work with small children before school and he is great with children. 10 gauges them on their level while they're in The barbers chair until they are comfortable and by the time they know it the haircut's over and they're smiling. So I give Scott 10 stars out of five, whether it's for a man or woman or a child you're going to do your best at Mel's Place barbershop

It was meant to be a mullet (longer in the back and the front tapered up to medium length on the top) the haircut ended up short in the back, extra long on top and the fringe is CROOKED!. It is NOT a mullet in any sense of the word. it looks absolutely horrible. We tried to call to see if we could get it fixed from what she left of his hair and their number is disconnected... Scheduled a cut and came in explaining that I wanted more a a mullet/wolfcut with more of the volume of hair being lower and the upper portion thinner to prevent a bowl style as I explained that I didn't want a bowl cut. The barber misted my hair which didn't properly weigh it down to cut. When checking it over after the first few cuts I mentioned how the back looked very one length and that I would like it if we can make sure there's layers. That's when the barber said "yeah you won't see much difference because of the curls with layers"...... that's why I asked for long layers with the style?? I hate leaving a bad review but I quite literally got the haircut I said I didn't want and wished that the barber could've been upfront about not being able to properly cut it. Still, Mickey was kind and gave me a first first-class gentleman's haircut, relying mostly on scissors and less on the clippers. The waiting room, consisting of old wooden chairs, is populated by respectable older gentlemen of Hudson. All in all, exactly the sort of thing that a man wants when he needs to get his hair cut!

Haircut is always as requested, and I really appreciate that Klay takes his time to make sure everything is done well. Also was super nice when Klay remembered me after coming here several times, and remembered the exact cut that I get! There usually is a bit of a wait during peak times (the wait is still absolutely worth it), but the atmosphere is great, and there is usually a movie playing in the background to help pass the time. The price is very reasonable, and it's really nice to be able to fully trust your barber with your hair. Hands down the best barber I've ever been to.
