Very high pressure to buy, and many of the pieces are cracked or defected. I bought a piece that had a hidden hairline fracture but was EXTREMELY hard to see because the two segments were being held together by a support joint. I carefully carried it (wrapped by the shop) to hippy hill to put water in it. After putting water in that literally leaked out of the crack, I was finally able to see the crack. I called them up and explained yet was given attitude by the same employee who was overly friendly earlier that day. He cut me off and refused to help me or offer any understanding. When I asked to speak to the manager he claimed they were out of town and he did not want to bother them. He told me no one wants a dirty piece, which it is not. I said no one wants a broken piece either and that I really was needing their help in resolving this because they sold me a broken piece but it was too difficult to see until it was too late. He claimed he would never knowingly sell me a broken piece when I pointed out multiple which he put back on the shelves. These guys are scamming and I feel stupid for falling for their trick. Would caution all of my friends not to shop here. read more

I stopped in here after work to pick up a piece for my bong. I was given service as soon as I walked into the smoke shop. The gentleman showed me different styles and gave me a good deal. When I tried the piece it didn't fit so I returned to Head Rush with bong in hand. The same man helped me find the right piece and educated me on the anatomy. He was helpful and patient with me. I don't normally go to head shops or really have a reason to be. However, my sister came to town and loves collecting cool pipes and checking out local spots. Naturally we went to the upper haight area durring her visit to vintage shop and poke around at some spots. We went past Head Rush, it seemed so clean and nice so we poped in. The girl working behind the counter was AWESOME. Atash was her name, I hope I didn't mess that up or spell it poorly haha. She was so helpful and really knew what she was talking about. Being that I never go in to places like this I had tons of questions. She was super knowledge able and didn't make me feel stupid at all for not knowing simple things [ I feel like other people I have talk to do ] I mention to her that I have asthma and she let me know about all the great vaporizers they have there! I will definitely be back to get one! Took a look at some pipes as a gift for my friend. Even though it was a little busy, the woman was very patient when I asked her take out a handful of pipes for me to look at. I came here to buy a lighter and left extremely frustrated. There were 2 people working, and they were both helping a man who was looking for a dabbing rig. The man was standing behind the counter, telling the woman what to unlock from the displays and show him. I walked up to the counter and the man looked at me, and didn't say a word, and went back to telling the guy about the different options. Whatever..I kept waiting. after about 5 minutes of the 2 both helping this man, he decided on what he wanted, the woman started to wrap it in a box while the man rang him up, and by now 3 other people had come and were in line behind me. And not literally behind me, as they were sort of scattered about the store, but looking and waiting. Right as they were finishing with the man, 2 older women, clearly tourists came in, and started to ask questions about some magnets. The man showed them, and they said they will buy 2. The woman started to wrap them for them and he started to check them out, totally ignoring the rest of us! Strike 2. He then went to the people who had gotten there last and started to help them while the woman just shadowed him, I guess she is not allowed to help people alone?? He clearly looked right at me when I arrived, and knew I was next, but helped 2 other people first. So I left. And will tell people not to come back here! The place across the street was 1000 times nicer and actually made a point to tell me they valued my business! read more

I think that one of the first things that people notice about any new place is its interior design and cost of service/goods. In response to the previous yelp, I have lived in the Haight for 8 years and love the tall white dude with dreads. He is the most honest and righteous person I know he helps all from friends to street kids. I think there was a misunderstanding he would never say you are going to get mugged, it is more like your going to get nugged.
