I love this place!! They have a new special 4 facials for $40. $35 is regular price of a facials…read morewhich is great price compared to fancy spas of $135. This has been my self care for myself all year. Each time they ask what my goal is sometimes it's moisture, sometimes is aging/tightening and/or head massage while waiting to remove a layer. I haven't had a bad experience yet. It's a large room with curtains in between clients/tables, you lay in between the flat sheets, they have bolsters for neck and knees as needed. Appointments are 60mins long. They have booking Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursdays 9 to 4pm. Everyone is so friendly.

They have removed several services, including upper leg waxing, back facials, and even extractions during facials. Last year, I had a great experience with a facial, so I purchased their "4 for $40" facial promotion, which I was excited about. After that, I booked several appointments, but they were repeatedly canceled. Every time I tried calling the school to reschedule, no one answered or returned my calls--this happened multiple times. Eventually, I had to go in person to schedule an appointment, and I finally secured one for the next day. During my facial, I was asked four times to confirm my identity. Then, I was suddenly told that my facial package no longer existed. They asked me to provide a bank statement as proof of purchase, to which I responded that I had bought the package last January and it should be found in the system. The staff member then informed me that facials expire after a year--something I was never told when I purchased the package. I received no notification via email, text, or even verbally at the time of purchase. I was then told that I couldn't purchase another package at that promotional price because I'm "not a first-time customer"--even though I still have three facials left on my current package. Then middle of my facial, I briefly picked up my phone once. Immediately, a woman, who appeared to be in charge, rudely approached me and told me to put it away. My aesthetician seemed surprised and even mentioned that she had never seen that happen before. Later, I asked another staff member if it was acceptable to use my phone during a facial, and she confirmed that it was--as long as the aesthetician was okay with it, which mine was. Overall, my experience has gone downhill due to poor customer service, lack of communication, and inconsistent policies. It's disappointing because I used to love coming here. If you're looking for cheap services, it might be worth it--but in my opinion, the disrespect that comes with it isn't. I'd rather pay for one high-quality service per year than go there and be treated poorly.

I did both the color AND style classes, and learned so much- my time with Linda not only taught me…read morethe best pieces for my body/personality, but also gave me the green light to donate clothing that just didn't seem to sit right on me for whatever reason (well, now I know the reasons!). Now when I open my closet I am in love with every piece I own, and I have confidence that everything I own is really going to battle for me and making me look healthier, more in focus, younger, and more positive. I should mention that while I love casual, quirky, fun styles (which work well for me) as a business owner it is very important that I also have enough pieces that convey that I am a professional at what I do- Linda explained this very well to me, and I feel that I am on my way to better first impressions and more confidence in both my business and personal life!

I have done color and style analysis, along with closet, make-up, jewelry and nail polish edits. I…read moream looking forward to shopping and make-up application lesson. Linda takes the time to get to know you, shows she cares about you as a person, and has given me the knowledge and helping me build confidence to apply the color and style analysis to begin the process of choosing items that are best and not settling. I have done color analysis many times, but this is the first time that someone got it right! I highly recommend this process - in the end, it will save money and time to avoid making purchases that aren't the best.

This review is of their Practical Nursing program which I graduated from Dec '24. Unlike pre-req…read moreclasses, you can't choose your instructors once in a program, so it's a risk. However, I felt VERY lucky that instructors Crystal and Taylor were wonderful! I felt very supported, their doors were always open (metaphorically) and they were ready to go above and beyond to help those in academic trouble. They never made anything easy, as that would have harmed us in the long run, when in the job market or trying to pass the NCLEX (nursing licensure exam). Which, btw, they currently have a 100% pass rate for. At one point in time, I was failing pharmacology. (My brain just doesn't work that way, memorizing meds/side effects/treatments/method of action) so Crystal, who taught the class, worked with me outside of class to advise me on study methods and ways to get through. I hear that Taylor did the same for students failing her class. I have not yet taken the NCLEX (I'm scheduled to take it next week) but already have THREE job offers. THAT says something.

MCC Penn Valley is not a bad community college, but I only say that because their new Health…read moreScience Institute is amazing. Without this building and the programs it houses, MCC would just be another crappy "Grade 13" community college. If you are a KC resident and considering an educational career in the health sciences (nursing, radiology, respiratory tech, occupational tech, etc) do yourself a favor and look into their programs before signing your life away to one of those colleges you see on TV. Penn Valley has a good reputation in health science and most of the programs accept students through a second application and an interview which filters the students down to those who really care about learning and are committed to their studies. The main campus at Penn Valley is pretty ghetto. The cafeteria is crappy, the facilities feel a bit old, and the burned out staff in advising, financial aid, and the business office are, well, burned out and tired. I only docked the school a star due to this because if I had to deal with rude entitled students yelling at me because they didn't fill out their forms correctly I'd be a troll too. I took several science classes here at night and felt the quality of the staff was good. No, you won't have professors who are publishing papers and working on the latest research like you would at KU... but, you won't be paying MU or KU tuition either. I can't say enough positive things about their career programs in health. Check them out and don't let the main campus freak you out.
