We weren't sure where to start but knew that we wanted a pedicab for each of our 5 teams to help people get around. Upon visiting the Golden Gate Pedicab website, I saw that they listed scavenger hunts as one of the events they had experience with so I contacted them to see what they could do. Working primarily with Oskar and John, they quickly got back to me with a very reasonable, all inclusive quote...meaning they would plan the stops and write clues for all five teams, provide five pedicabs and drivers for the hour, with gratuity included in the rate! We jumped at the opportunity to have someone with experience and knowledge of the area plan the scavenger hunt for us. We received the clues a few days later and they were all fantastic! (5 clues for each team) On the day of our event, we went downstairs at ~5:00pm and the pedicabs were waiting in front of our building. Teams quickly matched up with their driver and started scavenging. Based on feedback from our employees, each of the drivers was great, taking photos for the teams, joining in on some photos, and having an overall good time with our employees. We invited them all in to Red's to have some food and drinks afterwards. Golden Gate Pedicab provided an awesome service and I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for something similar in San Francisco!

Solo woman on Globe Drifters Cuba 2024 trip. I hate to say…read moreit, but it was just ok. Pros Rebecca (your pre trip contact) answers your emails. Rainer (trip guide) was lovely, knowledgeable, & very caring. 1 alcoholic drink is included with your meals if you want that Cons Despite Cuba being a very poor country with dilapidated conditions (not the country's fault), the money Globe Drifters makes for this trip (not the locals) is a total rip off and very sad. Cons: lack of Cuban music, same food at every restaurant, Travel diarrhea, safety concerns, pouring rain, blackouts Read below: Casas are simple, clean, but I was a little concerned about safety as anyone can push in your door and the locks are a joke. Also your group does not stay at the same casa. Some people in your group are a few blocks away. If you are ok with walking alone back to your casa after a night of drinking in a very poor country with blackouts--more power to you. There is no internet in Cuba & Globe Drifters gave each of us the wrong address for our 1st casa- so imagine my concern as a solo female traveler arriving into the poor city of Havana for the first time & the taxi drops you off in the middle of the street, (no sign of any casas or anything) with locals just hanging out staring at you and you can't speak the language . That was not a good start to the tour. Globe Drifters should have had everyone's info on WhatsApp to contact us in a situation like this, but instead they sent an email (that I never saw as there is no internet!) saying the address is wrong‍ The Globe Drifter mark up of this trip is quite concerning as the locals are so poor. Our tour guide told us he makes only $15USD/MONTH (and he works other jobs too) so he clearly isn't getting any of that money at all. Globe Drifters is an American company making all the money. Cuba is very poor & everything is super cheap ($25/nt for casa, $3/mojito, $5/dinner... ) even if you add $100/for tour guide + excursions (which their are only 3 excursions: old car tour, tobacco farm, & short hike) plus the tour bus & gas (which is $1USD/liter), this total trip cost Globe Drifters less than $500 USD. Yet you pay over $2900 USD pp including a single supplement that you must pay. It bothers me to know an American company is making so much money for a tour to a country that makes pennies per day. I was a traveler willing to share a room, yet was told there are no double rooms and everyone must pay the $400 single supplement- which is a joke -- most rooms at the casas have 2 or 3 beds. Another way for Globe Drifters to squeeze $400 out of every traveler. The other con is there was hardly any local Cuban music on this trip. Tourism is down and locals don't play live music as much as they used to-- they blast giant boom box speakers. Some of the included dinners are at "tour bus" restaurants with multiple tours there at the same time. You have a set menu which got old very fast (pork, grilled chicken, fish, (lobster which sounds better than it was- it's very dry), "steak"-although not sure of what animal, and rice & beans). Lastly, every meal comes with salad, fruit, and the tour bus provided "filtered" water but --BEWARE-- half of our group got travelers diarrhea although the guide assured us all water was filtered. One woman was very sick and needed a hospital--but good luck with that-- buildings in Cuba (even your casas) are dilapidated (not an exaggeration) and the hospital is no different. I feel bad for the Cuban people and glad I could leave supplies for them, but seeing the harsh conditions of their country was more sad than beautiful. Also, the conditions of local animals is heartbreaking-- farm cows, working horses, dogs, cats are all EMACIATED and under fed-- it's really hard to see horses pulling wagons full of people with their ribs sticking out. If you want to support the Cuban people go with a local company that gives all the money to the locals. If you are looking for a country that has lots of beauty & music, I would recommend going to a different country as Cuba is really struggling right now.
