Dr. Bush wasn't in that day and I needed help as my cat was very sick after starting a new medication. I begged to talk with any Dr. on staff or have someone call me back before the end of the day. I was told point blank "it probably won't happen, but if they have time then they'll call." I didn't receive a call that day. Next day I was more worried about my cat and was met again with rude front office staff sighing loudly on the phone and interrupting me as I try to explain my situation and asked for Dr Bush. This time my vet was in but now I can't talk with her, but I was told to make an appointment with a tech, no Dr was needed. They wouldn't listen to my cat's situation yet and dismissed me at every opportunity. My cat lost half her body weight, continued to decline and I felt helpless. The next day I received a call from Case Manager Danielle who said she doesn't want to make excuses for how I was treated but went on to list excuses- " We are short staffed this week, Julia just doesn't realize when she's being rude but it's a problem they're working on with her.." I am so disappointed in Shakopee Vet. I have since found a wonderful place to take my aging pets. They took gentle care and concern with me and my pets and immediately found the issue with my cat. If you want supportive customer service and good veterinary care for your aging pets, I'd look elsewhere.

This is an all woman staff including the 3 veterinarians who are all excellent. They are extremely caring, personable, timely with appointments and the techs are outstanding too. Poor communication, rude, irritable…read more We booked ahead and were told to get our dog up-to-date on vet-recommended shots. We immediately took off to the vet to get up-to-date as our dog was just hitting his 3-year birthday. We were told $25 per day. We planned to drop our dog off Saturday evening and pick up early Monday morning. When we arrived, the lady acted as though I was a few classes far below her and demanded to know why our dog wasn't up-to-date on shots. I tried smiling and telling her that he was now up-to-date and was wearing the new vet tags. She jumped down my throat telling me that was not good enough. I cringed. I turned to my son and asked him to go get the paperwork we had in the vehicle. Yikes. She didn't stop to ask if I had the paperwork, but instead felt the need to berate me while grimacing at me. I asked about the charges. Turns out, it wasn't $25/day, but $27. And, I was going to be charged for a full 3 days, even though he was only going to be there for 39 hours (less than 2 days). I questioned her (politely) on this, she huffed again and told me that's just the way it was. When I said it would be less than 48 hours, she began to rudely cut me off. She then told me she had to clean the kennels. I wondered what that had to do with me . . . . isn't that part of doing business? We were in Mpls only for a couple of days and felt trapped. Even though she was incredibly rude and demeaning, we decided we'd still book and pay her ridiculous fees. She then picked up the vet paperwork and determined that our vet had missed an important shot . . . . one that she never told us about even though we booked ahead to get the pertinent information. We drove away, convinced our surprise visit to ValleyFair for our sons was ruined. Thank goodness, we found a very understanding hotel.

I went in today for an orientation and a walk through at about 10AM. IMO, there were way too many dogs in each area. The dog rooms are small and dimly lit, and all connected, so the atmosphere is very loud. I was shocked at how many large dogs were in such a small area. As we walked through with the staff, a fight broke out between two dogs. Others joined in because there was no where to go. One staff in the room for about 20-25 large dogs. No wonder. There is simply not enough room for the number and size of dogs in that space. I would never leave my dog there.

When he is here he gets a crazy number of steps which means he is active and engaged throughout the day. He isn't just kenneled in a holding space for the day. I want my dog to have a great day when I need him to have a safe place to be. He does that here. We also got a bath today and he smells great and his fur is so soft. Just love Top Dog! We will be back again and again.
