I emailed Healing Space a week ago asking for next available initial appt but never heard back so yesterday, I called and left a voice mail. Today I heard back from her assistant. She told me that she just had a cancellation for Monday and to fill out the forms on the website. I was so happy to hear back so I can get help with chronic pain issues. Community acupuncture has been so helpful to me in the past but we've moved too far from another practice and needed to find a new one. Healing Space is only a mile away! The assistant then told me that the price was $105 for initial consult and $60 for future appts. I was confused because the website says 65/40. I asked about the discrepancy and was told that this was for private appts. Nowhere on the website do I see this listed so I asked for the community acupuncture fees and was told that there's a waiting list and it's a 'gazillion miles long'. I asked for the next appt and was told that they would 'add me to the waiting list'. This is clearly false advertising. If you can't honor the prices on your website, change it. If you can't return emails in over a week, then don't post your email address. 'Healing Space' made me feel a little worse. read more

I was afraid of getting acupuncture but was in such severe pain from my fibromyalgia that I was willing to try it. Rachel was very patient and would let me know right before she would place each needle so I was prepared, and kept encouraging me to breathe each time she placed a needle. After my first visit, my activity level increased so much that even my husband said "that acupuncture really helped." Acupuncture is one of the few things that I do to help with my fibromyalgia where I feel the effect almost immediately after the session. Sometimes my pain goes down a notch, sometimes I sleep better, or sometimes my energy level goes up. Rachel is a very good listener and approaches her practice very holistically, she wants to know what is going on with me physically and emotionally. I have seen her for both private sessions ($80 for 60 to 90 minutes) and Community Acupunture (sliding scale, $20 - $40 per session). During private sessions, she sometimes treats me both face up and face down, may do some cupping, and may also recommend some herbal supplements. I see Rachel about every 3 to 4 weeks as maintenance for wellness and include accupuncture with deep tissue massage and yoga. I love this woman! She's a gift to me and my health. Ms Weiss is an amazing, intuitive healer. I'd heard rave reviews about her for years before going to her to release chronic muscular back pain. She offered me trigger point release that opened up knots that had been plaguing me for years. It was incredible-- I didn't know that acupuncture could address this issue let alone so successfully! I have gone to Rachel for various issues over several years: a persistent, painful knot in my back several years ago; inflamed hamstrings; and most recently plantar fasciitis issues on my left heel. In every visit, I knew I was in good hands. I'd never gotten an acupuncture treatment before my first visit to treat my back issue, and I'd wondered how effective it really could be (and tried it out of desperation.) After each visit, I felt real relief to the point where I could require only maintenance visits now and then - it really changed my attitude towards Eastern medicine and the benefits of acupuncture. Rachel herself is a compassionate healer. She is a great listener and starts every session asking you to describe what you're feeling, so she knows what trigger points and areas to work on. I once let her know (with my plantar fasciitis) that I was nervous at the idea of having needles go into the soles of my feet even though I knew I was in good hands, and she accommodated by focusing on trigger points on my legs. Rachel will never do anything you're uncomfortable with, is quick to adjust your treatment to your preferences, and I trust completely her knowledge of anatomy and acupuncture physiology (in addition, she was an RN in the past as well.) Also, if you're a germaphobe like me, there'sno need to worry. Rachel uses new needles for each session and wipes everything (including you) down. I have received 8 treatments so far and I have felt a difference each time. I have not had acupuncture in a few years because of the high cost. She offers a community acupuncture session which allows me to pay an affordable price per session. The rooms are large and I feel comfortable sharing the space, you don't even realize someone else in the room. She treated my knees, back and ankles. Rachel is always pleasant and friendly. She gave me information on what foods to eat and avoid in regards to my digestive issues, and is able to answer all of my questions. The location has enough parking. I have battled pain in both wrist for the many years due to carpal tunnel. After having carpal tunnel surgery in both wrist, I still had the pain and numbness in both hands. The surgeons can do NO more for me to relieve the pain. From research, I found I could get relief from acupuncture. I went to Healing Space for treatment and after a few sessions, I now have relief. I have been going to Healing Space Acupuncture for the past 2 years....both privately and community. I suffer from nerve damage in my right leg from a previous hip replacement, which unfortunately the usual medical avenues did absolutely nothing. Rachel was/is the answer to my prayers. I was able to walk independent of a cane after a few months of treatment. No more pain. I can even do all the landscaping at the house which I wasn't able to do for such a long time. I can walk again and go places with my wife and friends. HSA is one of the few acupuncture avenues around that handles chronic pain, as well as a host of ailments. While it may be an inconvenience getting started with treatment, (Rachel is very much in demand because of positive results), upon evaluation, you will not find better care anywhere.
