In regards to Amber G's Review: Let me first of all apologize for your bad experience at our clinic. Our therapists try very hard to give the clients who see us the type of therapy they ask for as well as a positive experience. With that being said, I would like to clear up any misunderstanding you may have with our policies and procedures.
First of all our gift cards are set up like a pre-loaded credit card ( minus the fees) with a specific dollar amount chosen by the purchaser. They are not a guaranteed service, but to be used twards any service we provide. The unused card value never expires. Unfortunately, with the increase in cost of supplies and business expenses at some point rates of services also have to increase. I've worked for Healing Touch for almost three years and March 2014 has been the first increase in rates of services since I've started. Healing Touch's rates are clearly stated on its website as well as at the office.
Our receptionist are NOT licensed professionals. The weekend and evening receptionist are high school students that work part-time at our office. Their responsibilities are to answer the phone, schedule appointments, greet clients, take payments and assist the licensed therapist when needed. Our receptionist inform clients when they are scheduled to discuss session goals with their THERAPIST before the session begins.
Healing Touch is a MASSAGE CLINIC not a spa. The major difference is that we specialize in therapeutic and medical massage versus spa treatments. Therapist customize and use many different massage modalities/techniques during the session to achieve what the client asks for and wants to achieve during the session. Our therapist go above and beyond the minimum state requirements for continuing education. We invest a great deal of time and money learning and expanding our knowledge and skills of massage and bodywork techniques/modalities.
At our office when a therapist takes a client back to a therapy room for consult the door is closed for the clients privacy. During that time we review and discuss the client's intake/medical info form with the client. I ALWAYS ASK WHAT THE CLIENT IS WANTING TO ACHIEVE DURING THE SESSION. I ask if the client wants to just relax, if he/she wants extra time spent in a certain area. Before leaving the room I ask the client if he/she has any questions and to please LET ME KNOW AT ANY TIME DURING THE SESSION IF ANYTHING IS UNCOMFORTABLE OR NEEDS TO BE CHANGED/ADJUSTED. During the session I ask a few times if the client is comfortable or if anything needs to be adjusted.
After the session, the therapists types detailed SOAP notes of the massage session. We also make note of client preferences and important medical info for future visits.
Amber,
I'm sorry that you felt uncomfortable telling me that you were unhappy with your massage. I wish you would of spoken up during the session when I asked or even after the session. I would of immediately apologized and found a way to make things right.
I'm sure after working in the hospitality business you understand how frustrating it can be to be led to believe that a customer left happy and then later calls and complains stating the opposite. The receptionist working that afternoon later informed me of how rude you were and how you yelled at her on the phone. What did she do to deserve this treatment? I'm sorry you feel the need to spend time and energy spreading negativity. Personally, instead of spending time defending my hard working, wonderful, talented co-workers as well as my own hard work. I would much rather focus my free time making memories with my daughter and spending quality time with friends and family because in life thats what really matters. Healing Touch, as well as all service businesses are not always the right fit for everyone's and wants. There are so many wonderful therapist in the city, I hope you find the right one for you.
With Best Regards,
