Don't do it. I canceled my membership because I could never get in for a massage because it's booked 2 months out. I had scheduled appointments, arrive and was told I wasn't on their calendar. I've been canceled last minute by ME, arrive for my appointment and lied to saying "we texted you 3 hours ago we had to cancel" ummm no here's my phone there are no texts. Then to have such rude customer service at a spa. You can seriously tell they don't like their jobs. Oh my word. I was having headaches so doctor said I should get a massage. Went in did some stretching and had my back worked on. She also used a tool for deep tissue. I went in on Friday and it's now been 10 days and I have been taking aspirin ever since . It feels like I am bruised on the inside. Hurts to lift even a glass of water. I wish I had read some of the other reviews before booking a sixty minute massage. Sadly, I did not. And even more sadly, the experience was disappointing. The establishment is clean and the staff very friendly. But one can't help but feel as if the therapist I had was straight out of massage school. In a time where we can get a quality massage in a mall or in an airport Massage Envy needs to step up their game. What can you say about a 40 minute massage but get charged for a 60 minute. They claim the time that you enter the room and when you leave. Eample my massage was for 3 pm. I entered the room at 3:04 got undressed and on the table 3:09.. I am a guy.. The Lady came in 3:13 when she got done I looked at the time and it was 3:49 pm. I was scheduled for a 9am massage for deep tissue. I asked for work on my psoas muscle, they refused and said they didnt work on that. Update: They did end up giving me a free massage to compensate. They still tried to defend themselves and said that the 60 minute session means 60 minutes with the massage therapist (including talking/questions about your paper work) only 50 of which are meant to be actually getting a massage. When I explained that calling it "60 minutes" is deceptive, they said that they are always sure to say "session" not "massage". I still think that's deceptive. I will say that my second massage was very good. The massage therapist did a great job, but it was short again. I don't plan to go back. read more

Buyer beware! If you buy a membership you will not be able to get out of it. I have had five massages and have not been happy with any of them. I had one massage where my masseuse was using a cane and leaning on the table and complaining to me about the pain she was having and was made to work. I have called in an attempt to schedule the treatments that I already paid for and was told they had no availability. I have complained about my service and nothing has ever been done and when I went into cancel my membership and complain I was threatened to have my paid treatment taken away from me 7 treatments at 65.00 bucks each. do not be fooled by this company the treatment is not worth the money and do not buy a membership. read more

Beautiful and clean facility. I have always had good experiences here. Some complain that the massage was too deep or not deep enough, but clients should specify when making appointments as to what type of massage they want. Also, it is up to the client to communicate with the therapist during the massage if they want more or less pressure. Too, everyone has their own pain threshold and what is too deep for one is not even close to deep enough for another and both could be the same stature and have the same level of muscle stiffness and knotting. On top of that, every massage therapist has their own idea of what is deep tissue. If you find that one doesn't jive with your idea, keep trying to find one that does. Too, understand that if you request a deep tissue and it is truly deep work, then there is a high probability that you will be sore the next day or maybe even up to two days later. Do not be alarmed over this as it is normal and to be expected. Ice and/or take an NSAID and know that it will pass and that you will feel better after the soreness period than you did before you came in for the massage. Sometimes we have to feel worse before we can feel better. Most in this day and age in the Western world want the easy way without doing any research, suffering, or persevering, just like working out may cause some pain, but the benefits outweigh the momentary suffering. The best way to get the best value at Massage Envy is to become a member as you will get the lowest prices this way. For members, it is only $65 a month and for that price you get one 60 minute session, and any massage outside of that is only $40 for a 60 minute session which is extremely cheap. Even the $65 is low for industry standards these days. For that price, you can have almost type of massage you want, whether it be deep-tissue or Swedish, MFR, NM, or lymphatic drainage. It doesn't even cost extra for deep tissue. The best value is found in the membership, as for non-members, it is $85 per 60 minute session. 90 minute sessions are also at a wonderful discount for members. I did not realize how great of a value it was to become a member and had I known, I would have signed up years ago. Too, I like the membership because it inspires me to make sure I maintain good muscle memory by making sure I get a massage at least once a month which keeps me going physically and mentally / emotionally. I also like the ability to be able to try different modalities amongst the different therapists since they are staffed bountifully with a plethora of different skill-sets between different therapists. I also like being able to travel all over the US and still enjoy member benefits wherever there is a Massage Envy. As well, make sure you are early for your appointment by at least 10 - 15 minutes and use the restroom before you arrive so that your appt can start on time since therapists only have 10 minutes in-between each session. Do not expect the therapist to run late on your session just because you are running late as they cannot do so without putting all of their other appointments behind for the whole day, and without probably getting into some trouble with management. Too, they would not have enough time to change their sheets and get ready for the next client if they were to go over the original time planned for your session to end. Just be mindful and respectful of that. Massage Envy's have modern beautiful amenities and a nice esthetic in their facilities. This ME is no different, as it provides a clean, modern, relaxing atmosphere. Set alarm in your calendar on your phone so that you know when your contract renews yearly so that you can choose to drop the contract if you wish. I called over a month in advance to schedule my appointment with Taylor, and when the receptionist called to confirm my appointment, she said it was with Morgan. I explained that it was supposed to be with Taylor and all she did was ignore my comment and tell me that I could reschedule with Taylor at a later date even though I had booked my appointment with him over a month in advance. She was extremely rude, never once apologized, and said she didn't book my original appointment so acted like it wasn't her problem. Massage envy has a horrible cancellation policy! I am in the Medical field so I understand the importance of giving appropriate notice if an appointment needs to be cancelled. However when you get a sick child, there is nothing that you can do about it! They charged me even though I called them the minute my child started throwing up!!! I made an appt for my three friends and myself for my Birthday on Tuesday. Then I found out I might have jury duty. I called on Saturday and advised my friends still planned on coming and I would like to go if I don't have to report for jury duty. They told me they could either cancel the appt then for myself or if I cancelled the appt that morning I would be charged half the amount, and if I didn't show up I would be charged the full amount. Seriously!? Then I received a phone call on Monday saying they would have to move one of our appointments. One of the massage therapist would not be available. Needless to say I cancelled all three appointments and when I didn't have to report for jury duty, gave my business to someone else. read more

I cancelled my membership because I could never get an appointment. I had six hours to use up. About five weeks ago I managed to get an hour and half facial scheduled. I drove 30 miles to get there. When I told them my name and the desk, they acted like I didn't have an appointment. Olivia, who tells me she's the Assistant Manager, tells me to go into the "Tranquility Room". A few minutes later she comes in to tell me Danica had a family emergency and asked if I would like to reschedule! Because this had happened before, I suspected they double scheduled and were going to enter it as though I had not shown-taking a half hour from my account, so asked her for the balance on my acct. Sure enough, five and a half hours were left. The reviews Yelp isn't showing you are accurate. Don't fall for this scam! There are better places to spend your money and actually get a facial or massage. I've stood at the counter and heard other customers expressing the same disappointment I'm now experiencing. On the way to our massage they called me on my cell to tell my that my daughter and my massage had been cancelled. They rescheduled me 2 weeks later. I specifically asked if a text would be sent to my phone to remind me since I was in the car driving and couldn't type it into my calendar. That text never came and it wasn't in my calendar because I didn't have it down. Anyway, they charged ME for missing my appointment but they did nothing about the fact that THEY missed a massage with me! Very annoying...it reminds me of a Seinfeld episode! The massage therapists did a good job. It is the people at the front and the management that I have a problem with. I was told when I signed up for the membership that I could cancel at any time and that I could also use my medical flex dollars to pay for the membership. When I tried to do that my insurance company literally laughed at me saying that there is no way that there were going to cover that. It was basically like trying to claim a pedicure for medical felx dollars. When I tried to cancel my membership they told me that I could cancel any time after the first year.
