I see Dr. Lamarre now and she's wonderful! But the great thing is that if I need to see someone else in a different location they have always been just as awesome. Can't recommend enough.

I most often see Juliette at One Medical and she is just fabulous, but it's just as easy to see someone else on the staff if she's not available. Everything is done easily and efficiently through their site, and everyone is so nice and easy to work with. For blood work, it does take a while (at least 3 days in my experience) to get results back unless the doctor or NP makes it a stat order - not sure how easy it is to do that, but once they do you will probably get results back the next day. I recently found out that I had a substantial refund coming my way which was found as a result of a software update on their end (I think?) I'm glad to be getting the refund but wondered if in the future I would know when I had been overcharged for services... Other than that weirdness, I've been very happy with my experience with One Medical in the several years I've been with them!

I had a knee injury and had arthroscopic surgery on that knee by another doctor. The result was not…read morevery good and I was told that I could receive a high level of care at HSS. In a difficult process, I finally found a way to navigate their difficult patient portal and schedule an appointment which was six months further down the road. A week before that appointment, I received a call from HSS telling me that the specific doctor did not accept my medical insurance and that they canceled the appointment and would not provide me assistance in finding another doctor on staff that did accept my insurance. Months later, I decided to try again. I called the main phone number and a girl named Carly assisted being scheduling an appointment and finding a doctor that did take my insurance. I explained my condition and history to her and was grateful for her assistance. A short time later, I received a call from HSS staff inquiring as to if I needed a knee replacement or not, I explained that I did not know and that if they could direct me to the most experienced doctor that could help make that determination would be most appreciated. Shortly thereafter, I received a third phone call saying that the doctor Ayoosh Pareek was canceling my appointment because he did not do knee surgeries. I explained that I do not know if I needed a knee surgery and they said that I had to go back to the online portal and find another doctor to kind of work my way up the chain of command. I asked for assistance in doing that saying that this would be the third time and that I have no idea what Dr would be the best choice and that it keeps extending my appointments further down the road. She explained that she understood, but that it was my task to do not hers. I personally feel that they are doing this, intentionally to set up as many medical appointments as possible with as many doctors as possible so they could make my insurance pay as much as possible to their financial benefit and not to the benefit of the patient. It makes me wonder how other people who may not be as fluent in the language or in their insurance details are treated and how much money the insurance company could potentially be milked out of! My opinion is to avoid this place at all cost if you are able!! My experience was terrible 3 times. Maybe that's a sign to find a better place for help.

When I spoke to Labcorp, they told me the bill was because the office incorrectly entered the order and did not submit the required pre authorization, so now I was being charged the full out of pocket amount. I've called One Medical 10+ times over 6 weeks to resolve the issue and each time I've been told they're working on it and they'd get back to me soon but no one has ever called back, shared an update or made any progress. Unfortunately due to the error of this location I currently owe a several hundred dollar bill that should have been covered. I've been told it's in the hands of this location manager but they also have not communicated anything to me or shared any update.

I was a One Medical member for over a decade. Part of what attracted me was that they accepted a…read morewide number of insurance plans. Over that time, I became grateful for their accessibility, either through tele-health or on the phone; the ability to actually schedule an appointment less than two months out; and the human conversations I was able to have with my principal care provider. But... since the Amazon takeover, my experience has soured greatly. About 5 or 6 years ago, I had begun to notice that providers seemed to be under more pressure to see more patients in less time. I attributed it to the network's growing popularity. But now, post-Amazon, all legacy phone numbers for individual offices now flow into a national system where nobody answers. After 20+ minutes of waiting, you usually end up with the only option of leaving a message and hoping someone calls you back within a day, or just hanging up. Only the most determined person gets to speak with a human being. And worst of all... the list of insurance plans which they do not accept has become (according to the one person I spoke with) "shockingly long." Of course, my plan is now one of them. So I cancelled my membership. And within seconds, my access to the app was shut off. One Medical, it seems, is quick to transact, but reticent to serve. I used to be a strong advocate for One Medical. And it's a tragedy what they've become. I certainly hope they either return to their previous state of service, or that a competitor fills this space.
