I had a really great experience at Health Tune-up when I had knee pain that was stopping me from doing some of my favorite activities. Dr. Regina was great and used acupuncture needles to heal my knee, and boost my immune system when my daughter caught Covid. She treats the whole person. I really appreciated that she was focused on my knee and did not recommend more than I needed. My knee is 90% better after five or six visits, this would have taken months a Kaiser. I've been seeing Dr. Xia for over two decades, since I was in high school. My whole family saw her over the course of 10 years. The only reason why I stopped seeing her for a period of time was when I left for college. Health Tune-up is by far the best place to get acupuncture treatment. I've tried other places when I moved away and nothing was ever as helpful as her. I recently woke up with a stiff unmovable neck. And I did two treatments with her and immediately felt so much relief. She is accommodating and has beneficial hours. She cares about her patients and wants to make sure they get better. I am so glad I gave this place a try! I was calling to check if they have any availability for my shoulder pain evaluation. Soon, they were able to get me in for an evaluation, followed by a treatment plan. Dr Regina recommended 12 sessions and I started feeling better after 8 sessions. They have wonderful massage therapists who will work on the problem area. Then, the doctor will use ultra thin needles along with heat therapy. It's a painless treatment and you almost don't feel any piercing at all. It's not an injection. I agree with other reviewers that this place is very clean on any given day. Don't roll your eyes or quickly write off acupuncture...it has made such a difference in my life since I was suffering from back issues, leading to sciatica. While seeing a medical doctor and physical therapist, I was only experiencing slight improvement, and that may have been due to the prescription medication that was masking the pain. I had two doctors tell me, this morning a something you are going to have to deal with for the rest of your life--this is not something you want to hear in your mid-forties. So, while still following medical advice, I also added acupuncture to the mix. I tried two other South Bay acupuncturist and did not see improvements, and I was about to give up. Then, a friend from work recommend I try Health Tune Up. So, I gave it a try...and I started seeing incremental improvement each week. Then, it after two months (of weekly visits)...I decided to stop my prescription medication (which my doctor said was OK to try). That was eight months ago and I'm still doing great, but I visit the team at Health Tune Up a few times each month because we are still working on strengthening my soft tissue in my lower back. My visits still consist of acupressure and acupuncture. I cannot recommend this team more. After working from home during Covid, my lower back was in a very bad shape. I had excruciating sciatic pains on my left side from my back all the way to my toes. I had an MRI and the doctors suggested L4-L5 disc surgery -- I declined. They suggested nerve-numbing pain medication -- I declined. I've been going for 2 years now, regularly. I have health insurance that covers the visits, which I'm grateful for. In a 1-hour session, I do half an hour of acupuncture followed by half an hour of massage. I always leave feeling better. I don't plan to stop going there unless I have a job change. Everyone in there wants to go above and beyond to make you feel comfortable and also help you with your conditions you are facing. The facility itself is very clean. I'm writing this review during the covid era and I notice they do far more than what is required to keep the place clean. You get a private room with a heated table and the music is also very relaxing. The staff are very attentive and I think the name says it all, when I go in, I get a health tune-up and I leave feeling better. I would recommend this to whoever can go. They do fix a range of issues, my issues are physical (posture and other pains) but I think they also work on some mental issues (anxiety, etc). Usually, the two are linked anyway.
