The administration of Healthy Connections is horrible. A phone system that is nothing but voice mail. Nobody calls with follow ups ever. Give blood for a lab and nobody bothers to actually review your lab with you. They cancel appoints and don't bother to call you to let you know. It is a complete cluster F*#@. Having only experienced the dental work from Healthy connections I can't comment on the medical. The staff at the dental office on Malvern were awesome. My lower rating comes from the lack of a good contact number to schedule an appointment. I found three options. A general number that always goes to voice mail and doesn't get a response, an online form that was submitted and again no response, then a local number where I left a message. Same result. Mrs. Melanie Newnan is in my opinion one of the mist caring, compassionate and informative Nurse Practitioners here in Hot Springs National Park.... Honestly I would be lost without her. I have been her patient now fir 6+ years. Thank you Melanie for you are top notch and have always been ontop of all of my medical issues, along with several of my personal crisis. read more

After 18 months of piss poor information and referrals transfers, I decided to call and voice my dissatisfaction with ANYONE WO MAY ACTUALLY GIVE A DAMN, and boom, Im talking to a robot who can't even owns/ opposites this pathetic turd of a health care facility. In August, my wife called to schedule a Prolia injection which she has been getting every 6 months for several years. The injection is administered at the doctor's office as part of the office visit. As such, the injection should be billed under Part B of Medicare, which Medicare confirmed, and as has been done in the past at our previous medical practice. We specifically told the staff at the Healthy Connections office in Hot Springs on Central Ave to claim it under Part B; however, they instead filed a claim under Part D resulting in our drug company charging us $900 for the drug. We've been trying for two months now to have the office fix this error, but they have not done so. I call the billing office and am never able to reach anyone. I leave messages, and my calls are not returned. I have nothing negative to say about the doctors or nurses at this practice; but the administration is the worst and most unresponsive I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with. read more

I come from California where I oversaw my Mothers and Fathers care until their deaths. I am experienced with the VA as well as Stanford and Kaiser Hospitals. Your care is pretty much up to you, you have to do research. I retired here in Arkansas and I am very pleased with Healthy Connections, and my doctor Melanie Newman. She listens, she researches, she is careful and competent. The offices are reasonably clean. They have been consistently on time. The staff is friendly. I am pleased with the type of care they have provided, but I have to do my homework too. Paying attention to how my meds make me feel and doing research myself, so I know what to expect. read more

I can't say enough about the Staff and Dr. Gillenwater. So nice, caring and compassionate. Wait was not long at all and I was able to get in the same day. Everyone from the receptionist to the Dr were so kind and treated me like a valued patient. I am so happy to have found my Dr after moving to a new city! read more

I have seen APRN Melanie Newman and she has referred me to numerous specialists that have said there is nothing they can do for me. I was in desperate need of medication management with mental issues and she sent in scripts for meds that were not was what I was prescribed previously. She is over worked as are most health care professionals out there in this state. I have never received such sub par services by a medical professional. The final straw was that she prescribed a hypothyroid medication with no instructions that I became extremely I'll on. I have fired her but she in turn has not only stood by while I have become addicted to opioids, sent me to pain management which was a never ending hole in the earth and wrote up notes in my medical chart that were despairing to me. I have since tried to see another APRN named Brittany Smith who has accused me of doctor shopping due to a terrible referral from Melanie Newman on Psychiatry and sought other services due to it. Things are black and white to docs now, they aren't hearing patients and are refusing to read between the lines!!!! I attribute my addictions to opioids and benzodiazepines to these people at healthy connections. I am to the point that I do not trust any health care professional due to this. With society at such a bad place is there anyone out there to help, cause I haven't found one!!! read more
