Our son was failure to thrive, had an NG tube placed around three months, and a G tube at six months. While the tubes stabilized his weight, there was never a plan to get him off the tube, his oral eating stopped completely, and an oral aversion developed over the course of working with our health plan's feeding team. Our medical team told us that he would likely not be free from the tube until he was two or three years old. We found Thrive shortly after the G tube placement. For several months, Heidi patiently worked with us while we navigated insurance coverages and advocated for a different approach with our medical team. We wound up scheduling a remote wean with Thrive and worked with Jamie for feeding therapy. Both Jamie and Heidi have been incredibly patient, encouraging, generous with their time, and knowledgable about kids like our son. Over the months we were working with our medical team to set up the wean, our son had been willing to occasionally try table foods, but he went from being fully tube dependent to getting 100% of his calories by mouth in just 15 days. Our medical team said it was impossible, but we knew that if we just got out of his way and helped him rebuild his natural instincts to feel hunger and satisfy it with food, he would figure it out. But it still feels like a miracle it happened so fast! I'm shocked that there aren't more people out there practicing this kind of practical feeding therapy for tube-dependent kids. I'm sure that in 10 years, a model like this will be in every health system in the country. On top of the feeding issue, my son had many medical issues related to the syndrome he was born with. It was one of the toughest times in my life. I trusted Spectrum Pediatrics. But one of the owners lacked awareness, understanding and sympathy. She made up her mind that I was a bad mom and treated me as such. It was such a vulnerable time in my life. She judged and blamed me at a moment when I already felt so guilty that as a mom, I couldn't help my child. As it turned out, only months later "treatment" at SP, my son suffered bowel obstruction, and then doctors suddenly realized why my son wasn't eating. It turned out that he also had a similar issue with the bladder. As soon as my son was treated for constipation of the bladder and bowel, the condition started to resolve. I have never felt more miserable working with anyone/people in my life and deeply regret having taken my child to Spectrum Pediatrics.

She really takes the time to make sure I feel confident taking care of my kids, and she's really, really good with them: patient, calming, and sweet. My two year old loves her. I think she's also a really top-notch diagnostician. My older daughter and I were really sick last year, and I'd been to my GP a few times for it, and they couldn't figure out what it was, but Dr. Welman knew what it was right away (and my doctor has been voted in the "top 100 in northern VA"...so, he's no slouch). I was a bit worried about finding a pediatrician that would be on the same page as me "philosophy" wise. Dr. Welman seems like she understands and takes into account the national recommendations for pediatric care (like for vaccines, etc.) but is also very practical and works with you to get the best care for your kids--like, I sheepishly admitted that I've been sleeping with the baby in my bed, even though the american academy of pediatrics says this is a heinous crime, and Dr. Welman was willing to talk it through with me and talk about how we can all sleep safely, without being narrowminded or judgmental. The Casey clinic is also an OB practice so while you're sitting in the waiting room, you're mostly around healthy people rather than sitting in a room full of people that are contagious with who-knows-what. I'm a bit of a germophobe and I don't freak out (too much) in the clinic's waiting room. It's not super kid-friendly (like, no toy areas, etc.) so you should probably plan to bring something to amuse your kids while you wait for your appointment, but honestly I'd rather do that than have a big area full of toys that sick kids go cough on. We've had to wait a while for some of our appointments, but we're usually running late so I'm guessing they take another patient while they're waiting for us. Today we were on time and they saw us pretty quickly.

I don't think she did well as a medical doctor so changed to holistic. Selling people dreams at a very high cost. Whenever, I was there she would get a call about another patient dying. She seemed to care but never had answers except how expensive your next treatment would be. I did get better but not because of her mystical medicine.

I bought a sclerotherapy deal through Living Social after I had already tried laser vein removal…read moretwice with no results (it actually made my two tiny spider veins worse and more noticeable). I was comforted knowing this facility actually has real doctors (Dr. Antani) and registered nurses as opposed to the previous laser center I tried. The doctor spoke frankly about the prognosis and risks of sclerotherapy, and the procedure was performed by a nurse (Kim) who was very friendly, helpful and thorough. Pain wise, I would say it is comparable to laser vein removal since you are injected in the spider veins multiple times with a very small needle - just felt like quick little pricks or being snapped with a rubber band, but very tolerable in my opinion. The office was clean and all of the staff I encountered (front desk, nurse, medical doctor) were friendly and knowledgeable. I never felt rushed and was very comfortable throughout my time there (about 45 min total). I only had my procedure two days ago and results can take about a month, but based on my experience so far, I would highly recommend the Center for Interventional Medicine. My one tip is to buy your thigh high compression stockings elsewhere prior to the appointment, otherwise you have to buy some pricey ones at the office. I got mine on Amazon for less than $30.

It was awful... the brows about scared me.. thick & high up!! Bless her. She was new and learning so I was patient. I did noticed that the clinic needs to be organized, decluttered, and a thorough clean. A little updating would not hurt either. After being taken back the medical assistant draws my blood and I don't see her again.. the poor NP student was the one that had to enter all of my history & medication into the EMR system. I felt so bad for her. They know that the medical assistant should have had that taken care of before the NP student came to see me. I felt they were taking advantage of her like many employers do to students on internships. The NP student was very kind. She was very knowledgeable. She's the first to ever mention an issue that has been looked over by physicians for years. She was great. Dr. Stoll walks in after my time with the NP with samples of new medication to give me. I kindly declined them... no thanks to new medication I didn't ask for nor needed to change. She seemed as if she trusted the NP (which I did too) and so there wasn't much to the visit with Dr. Stoll. Unfortunately, I won't be back. I do not want to seek care there again... I want to establish care at a more organized and clean clinic. A little more professional too.
