I had been coming to Dr Minasian for a few years now, but over time, getting ahold of someone for appointments, follow up, or doctor's notes (which you are charged $50 for and have to hound them to get processed) has become increasingly difficult. Additionally, wait times to be seen for scheduled appointments have gotten much worse. Today, I had an appointment for 11am, arrived 15 minutes early, and still waited over 2 HOURS, at which point I asked for a refund of my copay as I needed to return to work. I don't know if this office is prioritizing cosmetic procedures over regular patients, but if that is the case they need to just switch to focusing solely on cosmetics so their PCP patients can receive sufficient care. Update: When I asked for a followup on the status of my refund, I received no response, just a text message with a link to an electronic receipt. However, after checking with my bank, I confirmed I was not refunded and had to issue a claim with my bank to recoup the cost. read more

THE FIVE STAR DOCTOR : We have been going. to Dr. M for almost a decade. She is the best of the bestest. Dr. M supplements conventional medicine by adding holistic methods including herbs. And she does it with a lot of spice. She has a great bedside manner which makes you feel most comfortable. I had a great first experience with my new PCP Dr. Hanriet Minasian. I chose her to be my new PCP because I saw the good reviews she had and that her Northridge office was near my house. When I schedule my first appointment, I didn't notice until the day before that they schedule me at her Glendale office so I went there, good thing its near my work office in Burbank. I thought she was very nice and friendly to talk to. I'm pretty healthy so there wasn't much to diagnose me on and I was just there for the first checkup. The most difficult part about this location though is the elevator. There is only 1 elevator from the underground parking that takes you to your floor. It took about 10 minutes for the elevator to come to P3 to take me to Level 3. I did have to wait a while until the doctor was able to see me probably because I'm a new patient and I had to fill out like 10 pages of paperwork. After being with Dr. Minasian since 2017, my husband and I decided to part ways for multiple reasons. Don't get me wrong, Dr. Minasian herself is wonderful. Great personality, kind and she does care about her patients. She really is a great doctor, but the rest of the office staff is what brings the services provided in the office down to 1 star. 1) Office staff is inefficient. My husband came in to get checked on a couple of things for our concerns, and everything has to go through an authorization just by how our insurance was set up. We understand that so we waited patiently. There's been occasions when the authorizations have been denied and the process continued to be delayed (even to today) and the office had to resubmit the authorization request for a specialist. We expressed concerns for an issue and it just seems like no one really cares about making sure our care is taken care of. We just feel like another patient and another number. I don't think anyone (staff-wise) really care about the paperwork that they push. Just clock in and clock out kid of thing. Really sad. 2) Ani - I'm not sure if she's new to office or whatnot, but she is not a pleasant person to speak to when a patient has urgent concerns. When a patient is worried or concerned about a situation and is expressing it to her, she ends up talking back and is rude about the whole situation. She makes no effort to make you feel better or to find any solution. She's mainly the reason why we decided to part ways. Her attitude was unacceptable especially when there's an urgent issue at hand and she just goes by protocol and system but nothing comforting came out of her mouth even if her hands were tied. Having been with Kaiser for three years, I was frustrated and tired all the wanted was stool samples for colon cancer screening. I have not been able to get my medical records 1) located and 2) sent over to Dr. Minaisan's office. Dr. Minasian was amazing, she pulled out all the stops and did a thorough examine, ordering blood work, breast screening (Kaiser failed not one mammogram with them). I don't even know where to start with Dr. Minasian. I've been seeing her for a couple of years now, and I love her more after each visit. The intelligence she displays is incredibly impressive, and her bedside manner is absolutely perfect. I have yet to meet another physician who can wow me even half as much as she has. She has been very compassionate and caring. One thing I love the most about Dr. Minasian is her ability and willingness to think outside of the box to come up with the best solution possible. She treats her patients as individuals with their own needs and preferences, as opposed to implementing the same treatment for everyone regardless of their situation. She has been incredibly patient with me despite the fact that I can be a little difficult to deal with because I don't like taking medication. Everyone I care about is now seeing Dr. Minasian as their primary as well and every single person feels this way, too. If you have an issue where you are feeling unwell for a while, don't expect to get an appointment soon as they won't fit you in. Last September, I had high fevers, bad coughing and a headache. Minasians office could not fit me in so I had to go to ER to find out I a bad case of pneumonia. Fast forward, 6 months, I called her office again with respiratory issues and her front office ask that I take care of myself with meds, etc and call back. 2 weeks later, with a high fever now and bloody phlegm, they can only put me on the waiting list. Having to go to the emergency room again for the second time while you have insurance and a primary doc is ridiculous. Not to mention her front office representative, Prani is extremely rude with zero customer service skills and yells ( yes, yells!) at patients and has been for years and Dr. Minasian seems ok with it as she's still employed. Blows my mind!!!! I've seen other complaints about her on here as well. Also the staff does not follow up on blood work. I've always had to call for results. read more

Dr Minasian and her staff made me feel very comfortable during my first appointment with her. They were very professional and friendly, and their office was clean and convenient. I took care of all paperwork ahead of time, so the check-in process was quick and easy. Parking is easy and plentiful, plus all blood work is either done internally or within the building (Quest is across the hallway), which makes things extremely convenient. read more

Dr. Hanriet Minasian is a straight up hero. She is bad ass female doctor who puts her heart and soul into what she does. 5 starts is just not enough for this hero. She is THE example what a doctor should be. We aren't just patients to her. She treats her patients like family and she will go above and beyond to make sure they stay healthy. She diagnosed my father with type 2 diabetes and he didn't have insurance but she saw him anyways plus she gave him free samples for 3 years till he got insurance. No doctor shows this kind of kindness to their patients. She has saved my dads life so many times that I will forever owe her and be grateful. Yes, you have to wait in the waiting room, but not more than what I've waited for every good doctor out there. The receptionists/secretaries are very polite if you are polite with them. And when your turn comes, doctor Minasian takes all the time you need. She remembers your situation and everything she suggested worked so far. Please ask if there is a new patient ahead of you since you will be waiting for a couple of hours before the doctor can see you. I went to Dr. Minasian's office with my girl friend for a quick follow up visit and waited for 2.5 hours to see her for a 5 minutes. Another reason for this delay is that she works with students in training. There should be a specific order to see patients and avoid such long waits. She is a good doctor, but the patient order requires her urgent attention. If you don't trust me, please go ahead and try yourselves. See Bianca G's comment as well; same problem as mine. read more

Horrible. Just horrible. Made an appointment 2 months ahead. Receptionist calls me a few days to confirm appointment. I get there on time and there's a lobby full of patients waiting. Doctor hasn't even shown up to the office. Receptionist doesn't even seem to know what's going on. Asks me to pay my copay and when I ask when I'd be seen by the doctor he says, " I don't know, it will be a long time.. do you want to reschedule ?" I'm at a loss of words, the guy doesn't want to tell me the doctor might not even be able to see me AT ALL but insists on taking my copay. Not organized at all. I will definitely not return to this doctor's office. I had to request work off for this appointment. So so so disappointed. NO respect for the patient's time. read more

This is a follow-up on my last review. We left this office/doctor after mistreatment by both the doctor and front desk staff. Not surprisingly, I am still dealing with this office. I received a bill yesterday, 2/21/18 (which should have been sent to our insurance for payment, as I'd already paid our co-pay). This bill is dated for the 7/21/17 visit that I explain in my previous review. 1) When I called to let them know my daughter and I would no longer be patients of Dr. Minasian's, I asked if there were any records I needed to pick up or if there was anything outstanding to be taken care of. I was told "No." 2) I called the office this morning to inquire what the charges were for, as I had been told previously that there were none, and the was put on hold and transferred. The person who picked up the phone said they are not able to help me with anything bill-related. I inquired as to why they couldn't even tell me what the charges were (what must be in their computer that was sent for billing) and was told I had to call their billing company, Best Practice Management. 3) Best Practice Management does not answer the phone. The automated service sends you in circles. Voicemails are not returned, and there is no way to get anyone on the line. 4) When I attempted to use the directory option, I was transferred to the cell phone of a woman who no longer worked for the company. Needless to say, she was very dismayed that a stranger had been transferred to her personal phone number by her previous employer. Dr. Minasian: Please, look into your office staff and your billing practices. The fact that people have to go through these inconveniences is highly unprofessional and unacceptable. I found Dr. Minasian on a whim. I was so dissatisfied with my previous primary caregiver and searched for a new doctor. From day one I knew that she would be my forever doctor. Dr. Minasian is very thorough in her care. She is truly passionate about her patient's well-being. When I have a concern about a health matter she doesn't stop at the first diagnosis and shut the door for any other possibilities. She makes sure that every test imaginable has been performed prior to diagnosing any health matter. She knows my entire record of health by memory. Dr. Minasian is nice, her nurses are nice but when I needed her in an urgent situation I was completely ignored. I went to the ER and was admitted to the hospital for further testing. I called Dr. Minasian for advice for followup, I was in desperate need to talk to a doctor. I couldn't drive due to my illness and she was too busy to call me. I even called on the weekend, on her emergency line and never got a callback. I've never called her off-hours. I really needed her and her advice and she wasn't there for me. After having her as my primary for several years, I can't go back knowing that she was too busy for a patient, that really needed her. read more

Whether you are in the front office or back, it is simply unacceptable to have an attitude with a patient. As patients come in or call to see a doctor we are of course not feeling well to begin with then to have a staff member (prani) who apparently hates their job or has a superiority complex due to some insecurity they may be suppressing, just to take it out on the sick is extremely off putting. This kind of behavior should not be tolerated and the Doctor (whether being good at her job) who employs them ought to be ashamed to have such representation. No one likes to be bullied or talked down to! If you want to get berated and feel less than... give DR. M's office a call. read more

Receptionist: Oh no, I don't want to read it, it'll just stress me out! ------ Key takeaway here: If you don't give a shit about your health, have a ton of free time, and want to be misinformed about your health status, definitely come here. ------ Details are overlooked, her staff is incompetent and holds no accountability for themselves or their own mistakes. 1. Staff is incompetent. It takes several weeks to hear back about blood results, get authorizations for specialists, basically anything that requires information to be transferred from one place to another will get lost somewhere in the process. They will also tell you that they'll give you a call back, but I guarantee you'll actually end up calling them first, over and over again over the course of weeks, until you can get an answer from someone. 2. Staff is irresponsible. Never follows up with results, important medical details and results overlooked, authorizations "forgotten" to be sent. It clearly states kidney stones in the results...how did you miss that.. caused my girlfriend to have debilitating pain for months, ending her up in ER. 3. Staff does not take accountability for anything. When asked why we never get callbacks when we're told we would (I'm talking weeks here), whereas my doctor elsewhere is always available via email or phone, we're told that my doctor is probably new and young. First of all, how is that relevant? You should follow up with patients and call someone back when you say you will. Secondly, he's been practicing for 30+ years, not new...still confused as to how that's relevant to you holding yourself accountable for not relaying appropriate medical information when necessary. Currently, we're still waiting for my girlfriend's second results (tests taken 2 weeks ago already, us being told that we'll get a call back again and again). Guess what? The phone line is disconnected. Been calling again since 2pm. It's 4pm PST. read more

I have been going to her for 4 years now. She cares and takes the time to help you when other doctors want to throw medications at you and push you out the door. Yes there has been times I have had to wait but that's the same with any doctors office and it's because she takes the time with you to make a proper diagnosis and If she doesn't know she will be honest with you and either have you do further testing or send you to a specialist. Her and her office is knowledgeable with the insurance business which most doctors are not. They work very hard to make sure things are covered before having you do anything and being blindsided by a huge bill when you are already sick. This type of doctor is a dying breed. Dec 1, 2014 My 1st review ever. I need to speak up. The series of terrible experiences with this doctor and her team compel me to speak. Dr. Minasian's office is pretty local to my family. The 1st appointment with Dr. Minasian last year was decent. I asked questions. She answered them to the best of her ability. I had a terrible first impression with her front office/ supporting staff though. That impression kept me from coming back. This year I decided to try this team and place again. I was open to re-checking my first impression. Maybe they were just having a bad day. This is what I am sure about NOW. Even after re-checking my first impressions. 1) Parking is free though if you get squeamish in tight/ dark places take care with their lot. Maybe best for you to park on the sidewalk and walk. 2) Dr. Minasian is friendly. Here's the rub: She's very talkative about non-medical topics so as much as it's nice to be able to chat with her, it's nicer to be able to talk to a doctor about what physically hurts and to be able to talk to one on time (the shortest wait time I've experienced is 30 mins! that's long not short.). I'd rather have a chat about old television shows like In Living Color outside of office hours so that my appointment with Dr.Minasian does not run over someone else's appointment and it can be productive towards my health. 3) The front office offers to call you regarding test results. Dr. Minasian will assure you that you will be contacted within 2 weeks regarding your tests unless something urgent comes up. I have never received a follow up call after exams (physicals included). And worse, even after following up myself, there are times when they inform me that the doctor still hasn't reviewed my results. 4) Super long wait. It needs to be reiterated because time is precious. And at one point I even called a 1/2 hour before my appointment to see if Dr. Minasian was running late and I still ended up waiting 1 hour+. 5) During my appointment which I had waited over an hour for, she took a phone call. She did apologize and say that it was regarding a patient but really!!! Again, that's why even though I agree with other reviewers that she is friendly, I have to say that that friendliness has shown up as being distracted, overbooked, and off-topic. She started talking about a television show when I wanted to talk about my health. *** Again I only revisited Dr. Minasian and her office team this year because she is so local to me. After this year's visits, I have finally decided to close the book on this doctor and her team. I am willing to drive farther for higher quality care. We're all doing our best to care for ourselves and we deserve to receive good care both by the doctors as well as their supporting staff. read more

Dr. Minasian is okay. However, there is a huge problem that needs to be addressed. A referral was submitted on my behalf (after jumping through some insurance hoops) and Susan at her office cancelled it without telling me (I found out from my medical group). I have an ongoing medical issue for over 2 years now and have had challenges getting the services I need. This is absolutely ridiculous and frustrating. Needless to say, I'm going elsewhere. Their 2 hour lunch time/office closure is also ridiculous as that makes it hard to get in contact with them if you work the usual 9-5 hours. read more

I have a hard time finding a caring female doctor until I found Dr. Minasian. I have been going to Dr. Minasian for sometimes now. I like her! She is professional, attentive, informative, caring and has a sense of humor. She has a nice new office in Glendale and a small one in Northridge for Wednesdays to accomodate her Valley patients. I'm glad Dr. Minasian is my internist and my primary physician. Being a DO (Doctor of Osteopathy) is a plus too. Also she practices and appreciates the Holistic Health for Mind, Body and Soul. Her staffs are pretty friendly. I often call the office about my necessary things and they are always helpful. Sometimes if they are busy, they might forget or put you on hold on the phone too long. Just call back and they will help you. 5 out of 5 in my opinion. Complete 5 Stars! I just wish they have more days in the Valley ;) read more

The doctor came strongly recommended from a friend. My wife and I are recently married and were thrilled to find ourselves a permanent family doctor in LA. Unfortunately we never got to meet the doctor herself. We just switched insurance to a carrier that they do not work with. We figured, no problem we're happy to pay cash. Upon informing the receptionist, she began to be very rude to us. I can tolerate that a little rudeness. But after we sat down she began to bad mouth us to the other employees. She then also started to badger another employee about letting someone book an appointment without insurance. We became very uncomfortable and felt very unwelcome. Dr. Hanriet is very courteous person and kind; she listens very carefully with patience to your requests and health issues and then recommend professional recommendations. The service was amazing, her staff are very polite and professional and very caring! They accept us right on time, in comparison to other dermatologists/doctors.
