Note, this is not a massage place. So if you're just looking for a feel-good massage, this is not it. But, if you're looking for therapeutic body work - they'll give you more than you can ask for. If you have had injuries, accidents or stress in your body, don't be one of those people who thinks nothing is wrong because you "feel ok". It's probably cut off mind-body awareness because your body is trying to keep you going until you give out. I love how I've gotten more in-tune with my body here. The increased body awareness means I have some control over how I feel and react. Maintenance and wellness helps too. I rotate between Jocelyn for nuanced issues and Mila for general tune-ups. They're always very thorough and attentive with my body. I've also seen Bee for Mercier Therapy. That was really amazing and helped give me back so much pelvic mobility. Sometimes the knowledge of how much pure, scientific genius lives tucked away behind these walls keeps me up at night. I'm 29, Chronic Pain, 4 surgeries. I've seen the world's best doctors, from A-Rod's hip guy to the Mayo Clinic. Jocelyn and her team understand the human body as it actually works, as opposed to as unconnected parts that can only be viewed through a telescope at close range. One of my big struggles these days is trying to, as politely as possible, explain to every doctor I do see that Jocelyn is the smartest person I've ever met and that I refuse to make any significant decisions about surgery or my body without her guidance. (Note: I'm not being hyperbolic. I'm wrapping up a Masters in Software Engineering at Harvard rn, so I've met some scary smart people. She's definitely one of them). Healus isn't a massage place...It's a scientific advancement in understanding how various (all) body parts work together and plug into the central nervous system. One small example, basically every doctor/PT has told me you can't train and consciously control small muscle movements in your body. A few weeks ago, I realigned my vertebrae (vertebral instability is the crux of my issue) in an MRI. Other people have better stories. Somehow...this needs to find its way into mainstream medicine, because there are millions of people living in pain and this is something that works. It's significantly more effective than Oxycontin, actually fixes the underlying problems, and is much, much better for you. I'm amazed Chip Kelly or Steve Kerr haven't swooped in yet. Speaking as a former (now semi-broken) collegiate athlete, it would give their teams a MASSIVE edge. These days, I primarily see Dion as she has in many ways surpassed her mentor, has a mastery of NMR, and understands vertebral issues better than Jocelyn (imho). She is also easily one of the smartest people I've ever met and has this uncanny knack of being able to convince me of things that I previously thought we're ridiculous using sound logical arguments that I can't beat (which nerds like me are into). I honestly can't imagine what my life would be like if I hadn't found this place. If I could give a 150 stars I would. It's unfair ranking this on the same scale as the French Laundry. I did not have a good experience with Jocelyn! My right side is where my pain was coming from, which I now know is due to super tight hip flexors, but she decided my problem was on the left side and super high up my spine. Not only was I still in pain after the treatment, but I had terrible scratches from her fingernails that she pressed into me and scratched down my back. I took photos of my scratched up back when I got home to document the new trauma done to me. What a horrible experience and it was very expensive! Now, I go to an amazing massage therapist who focuses on injuries and chronic pain. After one session I felt relief and it was $80.00 for the hour. What I felt was lacking at Healus was true human compassion and a humble approach which true healers have. read more

NMR is flat-out amazing. I'm a competitive athlete who trains anywhere from 10-25 hours a week and have been able to be injury-free with the help of folks at Healus. (Minus a concussion, but they can't help that ;) ). This place does not traditional sports massage so I'd recommend that everyone unfamiliar with this technique go in with an open mind, especially if they are dealing with chronic issues that have been unresolved. Sometimes, this includes working in places that aren't the immediate area of pain. The way I see it, the discomfort I'm feeling tends to be a result of a deeper underlying issue and after a session the pain dissipates in a few days and magically never returns. Sometimes the changes are so subtle and then I realize the next day that I'm able to walk and move differently. Everyone here is well trained and incorporates their own flare. I typically seek out Will but also also receive from Shannon and speak highly of both. That being said, I don't think I would be able to compete as intensely if I didn't have NMR in my back pocket and am truly grateful for the freedom it gives me to do what makes me happy. After 3 years of suffering with unknown pain in my body and shoulder, it seems that NMR with Niko Nishimine is the solution! I found Healus on Yelp. They are in a great location and very easy to work with. The treatment rooms are lovely. Niko listens and works intently to correct my muscle issues. I was all about trying something new in spite of various reviews, but very disappointed. I left in more pain than when I arrived. I tried to be patient with the whole, I'm going to make you feel better routine by targeting other areas, but he didn't focus on my extreme area of pain and not only am I still in pain...it's way worse. Will was the guy and he was nice and I know was trying, but unless you fully listen to your client they're not going to be happy. I'm super unhappy and I'm so much pain. Got my Groupon and booked two appointments with this place sight unseen. I needed cranial sacral work, or so said my chiropractor. The building was easy to find (by Piatti) and the set up is small and homey, but welcoming. The day I was there, there were brownies and tea! Terez Toneff gave me some amazing work, she's highly skilled in cranial sacral work and I was floating off (not asleep, but certainly not awake either) right away under her skillful touch and I stayed in this la-la, dreamland for about 90 minutes. I wish I had the right words to describe the experience-floating, relaxing, resting. Trust me, it was great! I felt so refreshed and calm afterwards! I am a machine. A machine that grinds and pushes and defies the laws of gravity and aerodynamics when I'm at my peak performance. I am as active in my dancing/teaching as most athletes are, and when I'm going full force I teach 13+ classes a week with an additional 5 hours or so in training with a company I perform with. That's roughly 20 hours during the week where my body is moving. Up, down, across the floor, upside down - you name it, my body does it. But, like any machine, I need a little oil and tune-up every now and then. I've received two Neuro Muscular Reprogramming sessions with Dion and have walked out of there both times actually feeling better, which doesn't happen all that often. After just the first session I felt some relief of the chronic symptoms I experience which are associated with the asymmetrical muscular dysfunction, strain and pinching of my mild scoliosis which causes not so mild symptoms that can range from mild to severe depending on various conditions like the weather, stress, injury and the position I sleep in. I had a successful second session with Dion after my neck/shoulder girdle flared up recently. Dion is super intuitive and a natural healer. Her knowledge of the musculature and anatomy is superb, and her hands are super strong. She integrates basic breath work, relaxation and visualization techniques into the session also where appropriate, which gently helps the muscles to relax and subsequently release. While I am sure she works with each client's own level of comfort, she was able to work successfully and deeply with my body to release muscles which have been problematic for me since my flare up began. I've received body work and various treatments over the course of my lifetime, including massage, acupuncture, healers, rolfers, and chiropractors. But, the NMR sessions have felt like the most useful and efficient treatments I've received. I've gone ahead and invested in my body and well-being by purchasing a group of sessions so I can receive treatments consistently over a period of time that makes sense to actively address the acute condition of my issues. Where do I even start... I have known Jocelyn as both, my teacher and the ONLY bodyworker I go to since the beginning of January 2013. I had a session yesterday at the Healus Center for NMR (Neuromuscular Reprogramming). I still feel like a completely different person from this session. It's quite remarkable the way this work helps so much with achey or painful muscles. My neck feels much better as well & my range of motion has improved a great deal. To top it off, I slept better than normal last night. I was involved in a pretty bad snowboarding accident 19 years ago which resulted in whiplash & trauma to tailbone. I consider myself a very good critic when it comes to bodyworkers of any sort after all these years of dealing w/ chronic pain. Several years ago, dealing with the joint and spine pains earned by years as a former athlete (gymnast) and a motorcycle crash that pretty much threw my body out of symmetry, I saw Jocelyn Olivier, who turned out to be an extraordinary "bodyworker" to use the generic term, that I've known, and I've experienced the work of many excellent massage therapists, physical therapists, deep-tissue, Rolfing, Hellerwork, and other such modalities. Some people have good hands that just know where the ouch is but Jocelyn also has that "x-ray" vision and insight and education not only to really see what's wrong, but to treat the body holistically, and most important of all, she gets results. Lots of bodywork feels good during, and even after, for a day or two. But Jocelyn, in my experience, knew how to actually get lasting results. As with many master practitioners, she was drawn to teaching, with the same clarity and vision, and then opened the Healus Center, applying those high standards to a center where she could train others and reach more people, and do more good. i cannot believe all the 5 star reviews! if i could give this establishment 0 stars, i would. i purchased a groupon to try their neuromuscular reprogramming. i told brad that while i do have chronic lower back issues that i wanted him to focus on my neck and shoulders, which was causing significant pain. he spent all his time on my right side of my neck and shoulders. now i thought that was odd to completely ignore my left side. he said that most of the tension arose from the right side. well, he also spent probably half of the 75 mins doing checks and writing in his notebook. when the session was done, my left shoulder and neck were hurting, the area that he ignored. i mentioned this to brad and he took a minute at best to massage that side. a week later, the real pain started. the nmr massage left me out of balance and i threw out my back. i haven't had a severe lower back episode in over a year, which i maintain through weekly yoga classes. i am now spending significant amounts of money getting treatment for my lower back. i can barely walk let alone take care of my children. i would never go back to healus nor recommend them to anyone. read more

After a year of increasing lower back pain, the pain-free time had almost ceased to exist. Diagnosed by MRI with 6 compressed discs and stenosis, I was not having a satisfying quality of life. On the recommendation of a friend- she'd had a painful hip for three months, went for ONE session, and never needed to return - I made an appointment for a free 1/2 hour evaluation with Jocelyn. I came in with pain that was about 7-9 on a scale of 1-10. She pressed here and there, pulled here and there, muscle tested, and it was all very mysterious to me, having had regular massages, but never gone to a body worker. I was shocked that over the next four days my pain had diminished to between 2-4! Over the past 6 months or so, In addition to Jocelyn, I've seen two other practitioners at the clinic and my pain has dramatically decreased. Sometimes I have no pain until very late in the day which I can control with pressure exercises (brain buttons), and last week I had two days with no pain at all. I came to Healus Center by way of a gift certificate, and I'm so grateful to the gift giver - I love this place, and have returned many times. I was suffering from upper back and neck pain, and shoulder impingement issues. It hurt to swim, reach for anything, and even to knit. I've been under the healing care of Brad Benson since early February who has been using Neuromuscular Reprogamming and Myofacial Realease techniques. These methods are really working and I can feel the new, reprogrammed patterns taking hold. It's now July and most of the pain is gone. I can swim again! Also, my back no longer hurts when I exercise with the foam roller. My posture is greatly improved too. Brad is very skilled at finding the exact area, however small, which needs to be worked on, often because it's adversely affecting another area.
