Updating my review from 4 stars to 5 because Almonte Spa really is the bees knees. A few weeks ago my daughter came to visit and I brought her to Almonte. I did a 30 minute soak, and she got a massage from Jane. My soak was wonderful as always, and my daughter said her massage was fantastic. Today, I had a 90 minute massage with Olga, and it was otherworldly!! Olga has such a wonderful energy, and her technique is very skilled. So happy we have Almonte Spa in our backyard. Totally private and romantic under a beautiful redwood. *Once we were situated, everything was very easy to get to - we ran around in towels most of the time but it didn't seem out of place - we saw at least one other couple doing the same. *Highly recommend a hot tub, massage, sauna package. What a wonderful experience. I have been having a lot of back, hip, glute and inner thigh pain from a recent reinjury and after a quick 30 min hot tub/60 min massage session with Mayzie I was completely pain free for a good amount of time after. You have no idea how much it means to be pain free even for a minute after being in constant pain for such a long time. Mayzie knew exactly where the issues and pain spots were and is a real master of her craft! I will be back to see Mayzie again. The hot tub setting was very nice and magical, although the smell of chlorine was a bit strong. The tub I was in was sitting under a beautiful redwood tree and I'd imagine it is fun to experience this tub at night with the stars and/or rain. Bring your own towels and slippers/sandals/robe. Everything seems to be an extra $3, would be nice if that was included with the experience. They do offer free lockers to store your items. Don't expect a 5 star luxury experience here. I got a 30 minutes hot tub and 75 minute massage. The good: Clean and cosy, well-decorated outdoor hot tubs, friendly staff.  Vibe is more boho than luxury, but does this very effectively.  Angelica gave my massage and did a great job!  I asked for more pressure and she delivered, felt great.   The bad: Almonte double-booked my hot tub room, so an unsuspecting guest entered the my tub room while I was naked.  Emphatically, the image of my naked body is just not the one you want in your head before you start your relaxation session.  Normally I'd deduct one star for this, but I'm taking two because THIS HAS HAPPENED BEFORE.  It's in the other Yelp comments!  I read that before hand and thought "well, that's bad, but surely they learned their lesson won't make that mistake again." Guess they didn't. Now here's where it gets crazy.  THERE ARE ONLY TWO TUB ROOMS, a moon room and a sun room.  Surely it's not too hard to keep track of who's been assigned what room when there are only two? Now, I'm pretty easy going, but for some this would be traumatic or dangerous.  If you're the victim of sexual abuse, knowing a naked person could enter your room at any time while you're vulnerable is frighting.  Almonte, please fix this, it shouldn't be hard. read more

Came here for some relaxation time in their outdoor hot tubs and infrared sauna. Absolutely loved the Moon hot tub, with a wonderful view looking up at the sky, a tall magnificent tree with the trunk wrapped in beautiful vines, and greenery all around, just a lovely setting. The infrared sauna was about the size of a clothes store dressing room, with a curtain entrance to the space, the enclosed wooden sauna filled with a reddish hue and a temperature control panel on the side (this space ideal for 1-2 people to sit, but not large enough for lying down). Soft melody in the background, but also the sounds of chatter and movement in the building could be heard. There are 2-3 showers available. But no hair dryers allowed cuz the massage rooms are all in the same building and the space is not large enough nor strategically arranged to separate the noise (that's a little inconvenient, cuz of course people will wanna take showers after baking like a chicken and sweating their asses off in the sauna, and yeah we probably wanna go out with clean, dry hair after our day at the spa). My partner and I were in need of a relaxing weekend, and I happened to stumble upon this spa. Reviews were promising, and it wasn't too pricey, so I decided to book us for an hour hot tub soak. Booking was very easy, I did it through their website, and it was hassle free. We arrived 10 minutes early to our appointment, and we were immediately brought in. The staff kindly showed us where everything was and how to operate the tub. The spa and tubs areas were super clean and well kept. There are shower areas outside and spently of space for you to put your items down in the tub room. Make sure to bring some slippers and a towel. They provide shampoo, conditioners, and body wash. Overall experience was super relaxing and tranquil. We definelty felt way rejuvenated after the soak and will be back. Some areas that can be improved/what I wished - the doors to the hot tubs don't lock from the inside, so there is a chance that anyone can just walk onto the room. I also wish they implemented private showers in the hot tub rooms. This would be a nice addition to elevating the overall experience. read more

That's a little harsh, but not too far from reality. The showers did not get warm, were last updated in the 90s and the hot tub just sort of felt not clean. Was super excited for Almonte Spa as I've had it bookmarked for months. They have an outdoor hot tub, what's more to love? Sadly, I was slightly underwhelmed. I got the 30 minute hot tub + 75 minute massage. First, I'll say that the hot tub (soak) was great. It's almost like you're in the middle of the woods being outdoors. The water could've been a little hotter but overall good experience. The massage was another story. I've gotten many massages before, deep tissue, Swedish, Thai. So I'm pretty familiar with the generally how the massage is gonna go. The massage I got at Almonte was different to say the least. It was actually quite awkward. For example, the masseuse held my legs up and just stood there for 30 seconds. He pinched me a few times as he was rubbing my arms. He did some weird move with my feet that I've never had done before and overall I was not relaxed at all. I'm not sure if maybe it was an off day but I've never felt so tense after a massage. In fact I feel like I need an actual one now to redeem myself. Spa itself is quite pricy. $205 for a 75 minute massage + 30 min soak. Their lockers don't even really work and you'd expect the inside to look a bit nicer for the price they're charging. Overall, I'd come back for the hot tub but would skip the massage. read more

Shout out to Nudge for telling me about Almonte Spa! I booked a 30min jacuzzi for 2 and it was exactly what we needed! My husband and I play Airsoft every Saturday so by Sunday we are sore, tired and in need of relaxation before our work week starts on Monday. We drove up from San Jose and even though we left early enough to arrive to our appointment 10 mins early, we hit traffic and were running about 15 mins behind. I called the Spa and spoke with Coral who was so incredibly kind! She let me know that usually they are busy and can't really accommodate for lost time but yesterday she had some wiggle room and we still got our full 30 minutes. You're the best Coral! We were in the "Moon room" which was absolutely beautiful, so peaceful and quiet. We had a gorgeous view of a redwood above us. 30 mins was plenty of time for us and we were so relaxed! We brought our own towels (they do have towels you can use for a fee of 3$ from what I've read in other reviews), they have an outdoor shower to rinse off before and after your time in the jacuzzi. There is a bathroom with a shower as well if you prefer. We didn't do any of the other services, the jacuzzi was enough relaxation for us. It's safe to say we will be back in the future! read more

This is my third time getting a massage here but this experience didn't measure up to my other wonderful visits. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The new receptionist speaks very loudly, which isn't ideal for a spa setting that's meant to be calming. I could hear her conversations with customers and on the phone throughout my massage, which disrupted the relaxing atmosphere.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Additionally, it seemed like she wasn't quite ready to handle everything on her own yet. She had trouble processing my gift card and almost charged me $200 by mistake. Sorting this out took over 20 minutes, and I left without the issue fully resolved--they still need to follow up with me.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Not the best ending to a 90min massage. Literally undid what little relaxing time I got. My other service was the infrared sauna. The infrared sauna wasn't very hot, with only one heater working, and no one provided guidance on how to use it. And after that the shower had low water pressure and was lukewarm at best. The massage itself was okay, but I was hoping for deeper pressure. Also my arms were missed I'm not sure if she forgot or what but seemed odd. I realize that's partly on me for not speaking up. I received a gift certificate to Almonte Spa for my birthday and I waited until my semester of class ended to use it. It was *perfect* exactly what I needed to relax and unwind. We booked an early session (10:30) and we got there around 10 in the morning. We checked in and we were escorted into separate rooms for our massage. I had Liya. I have been going to Almonte Spa for over 1.5years. I bought their Series package (buy 10 -1hr massage get 2 free) which lower the price to $120 for an hour instead of $155. I used to see Jameson but he is no longer part of the team, I now see Izuzu and Jeannice who are both AMAZING in their own style. Isuzu is very gentle, Jeannice "listens" to your body thru her hands. I always make appt with either of them. I sometimes go to the hot tub for their 30min session at $50 for 2 people on weekdays. read more

My husband and I went here for our anniversary. We both scheduled for massage services. My husband said his massage was great. As for my massage, I had better. The gal asked me if there are issues to address and I said I like something similar to a Swedish Massage. When I entered the room, the window was open wide, and it was kept open with the curtains the whole time. I felt a bit cold and there was a draft coming in so I did not feel cozy and comfortable. Maybe I should have asked the gal to closed the window halfway. I have had massages before and I was not sore the next day except my upper shoulders. I felt that the massage was just rubbing oil over my body and sunscreen was being applied. She did not really apply pressure over my body but maybe she used her elbow really hard near my armpits area, but I told her I am tense everywhere hoping she will apply pressure everywhere.. Sadly, I had better massage and did not feel content with the service. Maybe I should have been more specific with the type of massage I was looking for? After the massage I asked if there's a place to shower and she gave me towels and guided me to the restroom. The shower room was a bit small but cozy but there's no where to hang my towel, that's my only complaint. The nice feature about this place is that they have an outdoor hot tub but we did not get a chance to use this service due to a mix up my husband did with the scheduling. So we decided to leave since I know they have my card info and will call us anyway. When one of the staff called, the girl overcharged me. I had to do the math to make sure I wasn't over paying.
