I recently switched to Castro Pool after dealing with a previous pool service that completely…read moredropped the ball. My old pool guy wasn't maintaining the pool properly, and it got to a point where it was no longer usable. Castro Pool came in and completely turned things around. They took the time to properly assess the condition, reset the system, and get everything back on track. Within a short time, the pool went from looking rough to being in amazing, crystal-clear condition again. What really stood out was their professionalism, consistency, and attention to detail. You can tell they actually care about the quality of their work and keeping the pool in top shape--not just doing a quick pass and leaving. If you're dealing with pool issues or just want reliable service, I highly recommend Castro Pool. They brought my pool back to life.

I would never recommend this pool company or the individual who came out to my property. From the…read morevery start, he tried to upsell me on an estimate from another company--asking me to pay him the difference directly while claiming he could do the job himself. The work in question was mostly masonry repair for a pool crack, but it became clear very quickly that he was neither knowledgeable nor reliable. He constantly showed up late (when he showed up at all), invaded my privacy by looking up my personal profile on Facebook, and then lied about it by saying that I had looked him up. Completely unprofessional behavior. On top of that, he tried to charge $2,500 upfront before any work was completed, and then demanded another $2,500 after the supposed "completion"--even though he left the pool completely empty, which every real contractor knows can cause serious structural damage and new cracks. That alone could have cost me thousands. To be safe, I brought in a licensed masonry and construction contractor for a second opinion, and he confirmed what I already suspected: this guy didn't know what he was doing and was simply trying to take advantage of us. His exact words were that the original person I hired was "an idiot" just trying to take us for a ride. Save yourself the stress, money, and potential damage to your property--go with a licensed, experienced contractor who knows pools and masonry. This person is not trustworthy, not knowledgeable, and not worth your time.

We just finished a complete renovation of our pool with Oscar's Pool Service, and I can honestly…read moresay it was one of the best decisions we've made as homeowners. When we bought our house three years ago, we knew the pool needed to be redone. Unfortunately, because of other major repairs, we had to wait. Our house was a flip, and whoever patched up the pool before us did a quick, cosmetic job that started falling apart within months. The plaster came off in sheets, the 1960s tile was covered in decades of calcium buildup, the coping was old red brick with mortar literally crumbling out, and some jets and plumbing didn't even work. The pool was technically swimmable, but it was depressing to look at. This summer our weekly pool cleaner told us the plaster was about to fail completely, so we started calling around for estimates. Most of the big corporate companies gave us inflated quotes and made us feel like just another job number. A trusted friend recommended Oscar's, so we checked Yelp, saw all the great reviews, and gave him a call. Oscar came out immediately, took careful measurements, walked us through every detail, and his knowledge and professionalism instantly won our trust. From there, the process moved quickly. Within a week of signing, his crew demoed the entire pool in just a few hours. We got to choose tile from several suppliers and ended up with a beautiful pebble mosaic that matched our house. At first, we thought we'd keep the old red brick coping, but at the last minute we switched to a modern dark gray brick. Best decision ever! It completely transformed the look of our backyard. As often happens with older homes, surprises came up: our original 1964 gas and electrical lines were corroded and had to be replaced. Oscar handled everything--brought in trusted contractors, coordinated the work, and saved us the headache of dealing with multiple companies. While we were at it, we upgraded our equipment to a top-of-the-line Jandy system with Wi-Fi controls, plus added a heater and automatic pool filler. Yes, the budget went up, but every upgrade was worth it. Watching the transformation was amazing. Once the new tile, coping, and plaster went in, it felt like we had a brand-new pool built from scratch. The white plaster makes the water sparkle, the equipment runs quietly and efficiently, and with the heater and lights, we can swim comfortably day or night, year-round. Beyond the work itself, what made the experience so special was Oscar and his family. He's personable, honest, hardworking, and clearly cares about his craft. His crew was professional, respectful, and fast. By the end, it felt like we weren't just hiring a contractor--we were working with people who truly cared about making our home better. Now every time we step into our backyard, we can't believe the difference. What was once an eyesore is now the centerpiece of our home, and we're enjoying it constantly. If you need pool renovation, plaster, tile, coping, or even just reliable weekly service in the San Fernando Valley--call Oscar's. He's the best! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3DKKSP_c4UY

No one responded to me whatsoever. I am willing to write grand reviews for companies that actually respond to its consumers, but this company isn't able to do so for whatever reason though I have left a few voicemails text messages and even an email so I am left to believe that they are more interested in me paying $160 for a spa just to be cleaned and barely treated for maintenance. This is an exorbitant amount of money for a company not to respond to its loyal customer and I'm trying to cut down on the services because I'm now a single mom and I can't get anyone to respond so I'm writing this review.

I have reviewed Bell's Pool and Spa a few times since we began using their services years ago…read more Still, this addition is long overdue. We live right in the middle of the Mountain Fire damage in Camarillo. While our house was spared (for the most part), our pool was a mess. It was filled with leaves, ash, soot, and "volatile organic chemicals" from burned battery acid, asbestos, and such. We were at a loss as to what to do and the County was so inundated with homes burned to the ground, no one could really help with this issues. The Bell's advise early on that the healthiest approach would be to empty the pool and then acid bath (if necessary) and refill. We were able to speak with Marty and Lisa and they assured us that they would get someone as soon as possible. Needless to say, so many home owners were in this same predicament. Tammy came over to clean what she could as soon as service companies were allowed back into the area. She used a pool net and her portable vacuum on a couple of occasions to get the major leaf and burn debris removed. The soot and ash was too fine and couldn't be removed in this manner. We tried our in pool vacuum system but it clogged after three to four sweeps each time. It would have meant cleaning the filter over and over and over again. Josh next came over and assessed the pool and verified that he could empty, acid bath, and refill it and get it back to new. It took one day/overnight of set up to use a sump pump to remove the water and debris. Then he worked washing, rinsing, and acid bathing where necessary. He was here for about nine hours on the second day. He didn't stop until he had everything ready. Josh also got our hoses set up so the refill would begin right away. Bell's can get very busy and sometimes it takes more than one attempt to get through to them; however, time after time they have come through for us.

At that time he notified CPM that he must come to the community and pick up his pool chemicals and items. Our community board requested that when Travis came to the community to pick up his belongings that it was request requested to contact one of our board members so that we could be there.
