As first time pool owners we appreciated his expertise. His timeline, explanations and regular visits were very helpful as we went through demo of pool and the cement patio. The various crews he employed for each step provided quality construction and cleaned up their worksites when completed. With Al's guidance and encouragement we felt very comfortable during the process. To start I had a horribly dirty pool (and I mean horribly dirty, so bad the I'm surprised the state didn't fine us for having a basic swamp in my backyard) and I hired him to clean it up after he said that he could 100% do the job. he couldn't get my filter going so we decided to drain the pool after he poured chemicals already and I felt bad but at the same time he didn't try to start the filter first so I feel like it's more on him that he waisted the chemicals. He left his pump at my house for about 4-5 days where it was half broken and I was having to adjust it a lot to get it to drain while putting weights on the cord to have it at a certain angle or it would stop. He wouldn't come to the property everyday to check and at one point the filter was running off my electricity for over a whole day while it wasn't draining water because I couldn't be at the house to move it around and/or he didn't show up. I asked him to power wash the walls and there were horrible stains left on them after he pressured washed the walls, he told me he'd send photos of it completed which he didn't and texted me two days later asking for payment after no communication or confirmation that I was happy with the results. he said would be between $300-$700 to clean the stains because they needed an acid wash and I was really upset with that because he told me he would be able to handle it. I wouldn't be upset with that if the stains didn't come from his horrible quality pump stopping and the water sitting there causing the stains. He caused the staining and then tried to charge me between $300-$700 to even fix the issue his pump caused. Then he lost my pool net that was a high quality and expensive net and only offered me a $15 discount. I was extremely upset and didn't want to pay him for the other half of work he did because I had to do a lot of it. I took a chance on a small business owner because I myself am a small business owner which is completely my fault. I got quoted the same amount by a much bigger company to do the same thing and I regret not going with them because of the horrible quality I got. He also didn't text me back sometimes and that was stressful to deal with. If you have a huge pool project like mine was I suggest going with a larger company. I put a lot of thought into giving one or two stars. I chose two stars because I sympathize that this was a big job and he probably bit off a lot more than he could chew but his communication skills need work and he needs a pump that works. He also left a piece of the pump that broke off on the cement in my backyard.
