Excellent parking garage. It's clean, great location, and they have the cheapest daily & monthly rates I've found for this part of town. They do a great job of closing off each floor as it fills up in the morning, so you don't waste time circling a floor that's already full. Craig, the facility manager, is excellent. Parking in the City can be expensive especially in Downtown, FiDi and areas by the ballparks. With two back to back events at Chase and Oracle, I was looking for parking on Spot Hero and decided to try out the Hearst Parking Center, which I booked for $15 from 5pm to Midnight. It's located on 3rd St right off Market, but the entrance to the garage is on Stevenson St and it's located right across from the Marriott. After parking, you exit via the elevator to the 3rd St. The cashier is at the lobby before you exit. Return before midnight, got to my car and I was on my way. I was happy with my experience that I booked a spot again for the next day from 4pm to 10pm for $15. As you can imagine, parking in any major city can be extremely costly and San Francisco is no exception! Unwilling to fork over $80/day for parking at my hotel, I searched for alternative options online. I ended up choosing Hearst Parking Center because of its close distance to my hotel and that it offers lower cost ($15/night!) relative to other garages in the vicinity. This garage appears to be unmanned at 8:30pm (when I parked) and also at 2pm (when I picked up the car). Fortunately, I didn't encounter any issue requiring assistance. There were several signs warning not to leave valuables in the car, but it's pretty common sense to not do that anywhere you go. With that in mind, I took extra caution to remove anything inside the car that may look valuable. read more

Soooo rude. We reserved a spot through spot hero. The scanner wasn't working so the attendant told us to just get a ticket. We thought that we would be able to scan out or call the attendant so we can scan or be let out since we had proof of our spot hero reservation in the app. However when we called the attendant upon exiting, she basically told us that we had to pay another time. We explained the situation to her and she said we had to pay another time to be let out. I said "so we have to pay twice $70?" And she said "you don't have to be nasty pay the ticket" I said "I'm sorry I wasn't being nasty I was just making an inquiry that I think a reasonable person with this issue would ask." She then hung up and we ended up paying another time. I then called spothero and unlike the woman at this parking garage, was very helpful and walked me through the process of getting a refund through them. This garage needs to fix their scanners and probably should tell this employee how to talk to customers. Never parking here again whenever I drive to work. Awful experience. read more

Who says you can't take a car into the city?? Its too much traffic. There is no parking. Its too expensive. Nonsense - here for the rescue is the Hearst Parking center. This is pure parking bliss. When hotels are too expensive to park (the Omni has some of the best overnight rates btw as far as hotels are concerned) and when other garages are full you can count on this place to have a spot and at a reasonable rate. Plus, this is the best amusement park ride in the city. There is a corkscrew ramp that goes all the way to the top. Weeeeee!!! Go all the way to the top. Why not? Doesn't cost any extra and the views allow you to set your mental GPS in your brain. The one on your phone might not work so well with all the concrete here. Wow, you might actually have to rely on your brain. That corkscrew really is so efficient. I've been to so many garages that are awkward and are an accident ready to happen with inefficient ways to climb up where parking is typically free (think Flamingo Las Vegas). Its a well planned garage like Bills/Cromwell in Las Vegas. As you enter you will see a car wash service on your left as you grab your ticket. On the way out you pay before you leave. Its a small price to pay so that you don't have to use public transportation. read more

Folks, that is insane. I work hard for my money, I'm not going to give it away. Mamma didn't raise no dummy! I went on Yelp (love Yelp) and found Hearst Parking Center. I pull in and the front desk said, sir you have a convertible. Do not leave, not even a piece of paper in your car. There are homeless looking for coins. Wowza. I rarely find myself parking my own car in the SOMA area, but when I have to load up the trunk with crap from the office, I usually park here. As far as the rates go, it's one of the cheapest places to store the whip for an extended period of time. Whereas some of the spots in this area have been known to dock you $40 or $50 bucks a day, Hearst is a 'reasonable' $20. Plus, there's usually always somewhere to park, albeit on the top levels if you roll in after 10:00am, but you'll rarely find yourself circling for longer than 5-10 minutes. Make sure you keep your head on a swivel, though! If you're not paying attention, it's pretty easy to sideswipe folks entering the parking structure if you're in the wrong place at the wrong time. read more

Hearst is a very good parking complex (easy in and easy out), with helpful staff and security cameras on all floors. My only compliant is at 6pm there's always a line to pay often await of 6-7 persons and one cashier. $2.50/20mins - 8hrs $19 up to 8 hrs $20 all day until midnight $300 monthly They also offer detailing for your car - see flier on lobby level for pricing. read more

Reasonable rates for downtown SF, plenty of space and easy access. No need to leave your key for valet. Parked here for 3 nights at $25 daily max (24 hr period) at the time of this writing (Jul 2013). Saves a bundle vs at the hotel charging $54/night. Within easy walking distance (10-15 min) to Union Square, Chinatown, or hop on the street car on market street which is like one block away. Taking the elevator to street level brings you to a corridor between CPK and Staples or Office Depot...one of those guys... When driving up 3rd street, stay on the right and make a right turn on Stevenson (just before Market St and after passing Mission St). Feels safe parking here, saw lots of Porsches...which is a good sign for a reliable and safe place to park... No issue and would park here again in a heartbeat. read more

Had a fun, family day in the city that was quickly ruined when we were met by terrible service and terrible treatment from the security personnel at this parking garage. On the way out we stopped at the cashiers desk to ask a question about our prepaid parking. The woman at the cashier's desk, who was very nice and respectful, gave us the answer we needed and we went on our way. Upon leaving, we encountered trouble at the ticket scanner. We parked to the side and walked back to the cashier's desk. The young woman came out to help us out, no problem Again, she was so nice. This poor review has nothing to do with her. She was accompanied by her coworker/security (50s-60s asian man). While we were trying to maneuver our way out, the man screamed at our driver "STUPID WOMAN! CAN'T DRIVE!" This was very upsetting. We started to tell him that you cannot speak to someone like that and if he had just waited we would have gotten out no problem. He continued to yell at our entire party and storm off. This behavior is incredibly unacceptable. This kind of misogynistic behavior should NOT be tolerated in the City of San Francisco. For a security guard did not make us feel safe as his job is supposed to. If you plan on going to this area of the city LITERALLY PARK ANYWHERE ELSE. And if the person in charge of staffing is reading this... Get rid of that man. DESPICABLE. read more

CLEAN !! And no yucky smells. We stayed at a local hotel and rather then the $78 per night at the hotel I contacted Hearst. I sent off an email to the manager and within minutes I had a response. We used the Handicapped section and so had to call ahead to have somebody open up the gate. We both arrived at the same time. He directed me to the handicapped area and mad sure I was all OK. 4 days later we returned and the car was intact and still clean. Would gladly use Hearst again if I ever drive to and stay in the city again. read more

WOOT! I am the Duchess of Hearst Castle... I mean, Parking Center! Yes, this is where my little Mercedes coupe hangs out when I go into Yelp HQ. There are always spots (more so on levels 6+ after 10am), and while $20 for 8 hours isn't the cheapest around, it's fine. It's actually worth parking here for a full 24 hours because $20 is the maximum. So it's ideal if you're staying at a hotel in the area (Westin, Four Seasons, The Palace Hotel, Marriott - all within 2 blocks). Otherwise if you're just going to be in the area for a few hours, it's not worth it. I usually don't interact with the pay attendant - I just use the pay machine, so not much customer service to speak of. read more

I have a love/hate relationship with this place... truly. Love: + The garage closes at midnight 6 days a week, except for Sunday when it closes at 10pm. This means that no one lingers (i.e. sleeps in the garage) and so far, so good - I always feel safe and my car hasn't been vandalized. Yep, this is SF we're talking about. Hate: - The hours. The garage opens at 5am M-F, 6am on Saturday, and 10am on Sunday. Super inconvenient to open that late on Sunday - do the good people at Hearst not believe in brunch? But I digress. Love: + The parking garage is laid out safely; no crazy corkscrew turns and it's rarely full which means I can usually park in the same prime spot. Hate: - The Hearst Parking folks take $310 of my hard-earned cash to park my (thankfully paid off) vehicle in their garage every month. That's a car payment! I realize that's in line with other parking structures in the area and I'd rather not have to walk a mile to my car just to save $20. Still... it's a painful transaction. read more

GREAT FOR ALL-DAY PARKING. Not so great if you're only gonna be there for an hour or two Cheap 1-day parking for $20. A good deal considering everything in that area is so expensive. It's a little hard to find, it's off 3rd and Market. When you're heading north on 3rd, take a right onto the small street right after you pass California Pizza Kitchen and right before you hit Market, parking entrance will be on your right. It's right across from the Westin (where I stayed so this def. bet the $50 parking that Westin was charging) and about 2 blocks from the Moscone Center. If you're only here for a few hours, it's pretty pricey at about $2.50 for every 20 minutes (yikes) but if you're here all day or going to some convention, this is a good spot to hit up! read more

Parking in the city always seems to drive me crazy, but this parking lot magically has a spot for me no matter what time of day. Open until midnight Monday through Saturday and 10pm on Sunday, the hours are great. The prices are competitive for SF as well (currently it's $2.50 for every 20 minutes, $20 for up to 7 hours, $22 for up to 12 hours). I love how it has different entrances and exits for cars, so you never have to deal with squeezing around corners or narrowly missing speeding drivers. You can drive up the one-way corkscrew ramp until you find an open floor and the layout and parking spaces are generous. I also always feel safe, which is a big thing for parking garages. Located on Stevenson and 3rd, it's just a few blocks away from Yelp's HQ. read more

Came to the City for a job interview. If it wasn't for the prices at this garage, I would've missed a gorgeous 90+ day in SF. I almost parked at another garage that would've charged $28 for the day instead of $20 for the day. I would've ended up trying to leave as soon as the interview ended. Instead, I was able to change in my car, grab my laptop bag and walk around Market St. until traffic died down. I got to see a great part of the city that day. I spent about an hour at Starbucks and just went online checking email and Yelping good places to eat. I know. I actually feel more comfortable parking my own car in SF. I like having my own keys and being able to come back and get my car whenever I need. Or grab something out of my car if need be. Most of the places I've been to in SF are valet and it's a pain the ass to get something out of your car because they park my car in Alaska. :) Paying for your ticket is a snap with their ticket kiosk. Meters on the street are actually more affordable than this parking garage. As the picture describes, $2.50 every 20 minutes.. is $7.50 . I was there for a little over two hours so I ended up paying $17.50. That's incredibly steep for two hours. That's nearly the 8 hour rate. This parking center is going to be an average of $20 for anyone going in unless you're doing a quick 20 minutes. So be prepared. read more

This most certainly is a cool looking garage with a spiral driveway thingy in the middle of it. BUT... No Early Bird Specials!!? 19.00 TO PARK?!? oh and make sure that you find a paking spot on the floor you're on, otherwise getting up to the next level is sort of a pain in the boo-tay. I gave it as many stars as I did because it's in a GREAT (a block from the office) location. They have a three pretty fast elevators and it's relatively easy to get out of there. But 19 Dollars?
