Heart less non empathetic individuals and no responses to several emails left and a phone message left to ask if it would be ok to be late to the class. Locations all a 40 minute drive and when you are a caregiver and only provider for your child it makes it very difficult to attend these classes. No rules posted on their site. Very vague. And rude . The guy was just starting the class with infant dummies and then let another parent in after me and also went out to do a phone call break after he kicked me out of the class. Really easy to follow classes. I went there for CPR and first aid training. The instructor was very thorough and went into various types of injuries and emergencies that can happen in the classroom as I'm doing the teaching gig. I took a CPR certification class, it's been many years and a lot has changed so I'm glad I got updated. Our instructor was very young, she mentioned she was a college student but boy did she know her stuff! It's very fast paced and covers a lot but she gave us lots of good tips to remember what we need to in an emergency. Great job! read more

I took my first aid and CPR class for work with Danny. He was not only knowledgeable in book form but also in real life. Very personable and friendly. He made the materials interesting. The 3 and 1/2 hours actually went by very quickly. The classroom was comfortable. There were plenty of breaks. I was pleased to find out through a simple phonecall that I didn't need to take an online course (for 1.75 hours + an in-person exam), but instead would need to attend a quick class at this facility. Being a teacher, I scored a discount and only paid $13! If I'd paid online and gone that hybrid route, I would've had to pay $75. The location is close to the highway but not in the fanciest part of town. The setup serves the class well and the people were super helpful. Ben was my instructor and there were about 20 other people in the class. It was 2 hours long with a 10-minute break. It was informative and he made the class quite fun. I feel ready to provide CPR assistance to my students, if necessary, thanks to his guidance/teaching. If I need to renew in 2 years, I will be returning to the same facility for the class again. Just did a training with Zack Padilla. He gives you excellent training that prepares you for what you can and will experience when assisting people who require CPR and first aid. He is practical in what he teaches you, thorough, and has a lot of life experience in the field that gives people a better understanding of situations they may experience. He definitely prepared me for my future in the health care industry and did not sugar coat anything. I hope when I have to be retrained I get him again because I appreciate the authenticity he brings to the training. The whole experience was excellent, especially the hands on training part. It was not my first time being trained for CPR, but this one was way more enriching and meaningful than my previous training with a different company. I have maintained my CPR cert. for the past 20 years and I have had nothing but a pleasant, informative experience until my class with Zack. I would have left if I wasn't supporting my husband who was getting his certification for the first time. In retrospect, we should have walked out as the majority of the time was spent being berated with his political diatribe. Zack would insist the class answer questions and then would embarrass anyone who did so incorrectly. I do not know what sort of man needs to insult a room full of adults for 3 + hours to feel good about himself, but it is certainly not one that needs to be addressing the public. There is no way I am getting my husband into another CPR class after that experience. I would like a refund. read more

Hmm Im looking for a word thats a fuse between "cut to the chase" and thorough.... efficient. This review is based on my experience with instructors Mike and Tom Camden at their Glendale location for my BLS renewal course. Despite course offerings almost everyday of the week between Glendale and Mesa, my class had a substantial amount of attendees. Mike thoroughly went over the course content with the standard AHA video clips, and we got the mannequins for more hands on practice. The mannequins are all in good condition, clean. Both instructors are both knowledgeable and helpful. Ample amount of parking. No BS with buying a book I'll never look over again. They definitely made this a very smooth experience, and the cards were issued before leaving premise. ACLS courses are also offered here, and I wouldn't hesitate to sign with these folks again for my ACLS renewal coming up. Thanks for another job well done. read more

Learned all the basics. Except the learning itself wasn't fun. The teaching was a little careless, and when some students fell behind the instructor was a little bored and impatient when re-explaining herself. I got what i needed, i know the *minimum* of CPR. But the teacher could have been more present with the people that were there. Not just trailing through all the talks and examples like it's something she needed to get done for the day.. I always utilize Heart Savers for my BLS for Healthcare Provider training. Everyone has always done a very good job, but Zack Padilla was amazing! He was very accommodating to my learning style. He was eager to answer all my questions and make sure I really understood the material. My husband and I took this course to learn more about infant CPR and choking techniques, since we are expecting our first child in a few weeks. Mike Camden is so great at teaching this class! It is obvious he is very informed about CPR and was a very friendly instructor. He answers everyone's questions with understanding and detail and kept everyone engaged very easily. A couple months ago, our grandpa scared the family with a choking incident during Sunday morning brunch. Aided by a skilled restaurant patron, we successfully performed a couple abdominal thrusts (you're not supposed to call it the Heimlich maneuver anymore), and grandpa is doing just fine. Ever since then, my wife and I have been motivated to refresh our CPR skills. Also, working in a healthcare profession, it's good for me to be certified anyway. A brief online search brought me to Heart Savers. They offer a great combo package of CPR, AED (automated external defibrillator), and First Aid certifications. Be sure to choose the one credentialed by the American Safety Health Institute. The locations were better than the ones offered by the Red Cross, and $50 for about 6 hours of hands-on instruction is a great deal. I paid online, but you can also pay in-person. Our class began at 8 am on Sunday morning. We got signed in with our instructor Scott and waited for class to begin. During the introduction, several students came in late. One was even 40 minutes late and still accepted. It sounds like Heart Savers has improved their customer service from several years back ;) The instruction was great! Scott gave us a great overview of CPR procedures, explaining how to assess the victim and the steps to take depending on the severity of the situation. We then got to perform our skills on both baby and adult-sized manikins. Scott did a nice job of tying in fun movie references and kept the training lighthearted. I can't say I was ever really bored the whole time and learned a ton. After the CPR/AED course, we had about a 20 minute break before the First Aid session, so we ran to a nearby Circle K for snacks. The First Aid course is a little more monotonous because you go through a coursebook, but we still enjoyed learning how to handle different kinds of emergencies. No matter what profession you're in, I really urge everyone to learn these lifesaving skills. You really never know when you might need to use them. And, you don't want to be unprepared if you do. Heart Savers offers very affordable, convenient, and enjoyable classes on how to be up to speed in case you're called to act! read more

This was the easiest process of obtaining my CPR certification. Scheduling online was a breeze. My questions were answered immediately via online chat. There are several options for classes. This helps if you need your certification in a timely manner. Prices are very reasonable. $60 for initial provider card and $45 for renewal I believe. Update - Problem was resolved after several attempts to contact them. I do now have my CPR card and BLS. My experience however was stressful because I required documentation ve mine by email. I emailed a request to have it resent. The only repose I have received is their request to have me review them. Well here is the review if you need these cards for work like i do, use a different company or when its time to prove you have these certifications you may be out of luck. I have sent multiple emails. With the only response of having the request to leave a review. Communication is non existent. Update - Problem was resolved after several attempts to contact them. Last nights class was a joke! In my opinion it doesn't even deserve one star! I was a "rookie" and the instructor Dawn Crawford could tell and instead of teaching me she seemed to enjoy calling me out and make me feel inadequate around the other returning medical professionals that were there to Renew their certification and clearly knew what they were doing unlike myself, just starting  down the medical profession. I will never return to your facility, their are many other places to take CPR classes. After learning the way she teaches, no wonder she only had five students in attendance. read more

Once again I needed to renew my CPR training. It's an every other year pilgrimage, only this year I came to Heart Savers. The place I used to go doesn't offer it anymore. When I called to schedule a class, I was surprised to find that they have multiple locations around the valley and different time slots so it wasn't hard to find something that worked with my schedule. The class I took was on a Saturday at 8am. They opened the doors at 7:45, the class began filling up. 33 people came in for training. There was only one person doing check in. As a result the class got started 10 minutes late. The class was instructed by Dave C. He was knowledgeable and engaging. He gave real life examples throughout the class. Those who took the CPR pro needed to take an exam. There were about 6. The others got a break while we took the exam. Dave went over the exam with us so we could understand why an answer was incorrect. CPR training is the same shtick every year. The only thing that changes is the instructor and today I got a good one. read more

I passed & learned some skills but I think if I was told what was important out of all the information, it would've been helpful while taking the written test. My instructor talked so fast, I missed a lot of info. The videos were good. Without the videos I may have been more lost. Everyone is kind and wants you to do well. Class is big. Hard floors are awful for the knees and pads slide all over while performing CPR. I felt like there were a couple things on the written test that she didn't go over. Again, I could've missed it because she talks so fast. It was a good class, I would take it there again. I really like the instructor it just wasn't for me. read more

They made the class very interesting and enjoyable from beginning to end! Both instructors gave helpful feedback during demonstrations.
