These guys do this for a living and hence, have a knowledge base beyond that of the typical certified instructor. I worked with Thomas who in addition to being a Paramedic is also a Long Island Fireman so, what you get are individuals who are able to fill the gaps with real-life experiences rather than Text-Book responses. This program is ideal to keep your certifications up to date or to become a certified lifeguard. However, if you plan on working as a New York City Lifeguard (Rockaway, Coney Island, Orchard Beach, Staten Island) or Federal - Lifeguard (Jacob Riis Park, Queens; Great Kills Park and Sandy Hook, New Jersey), you may want to check first before taking their classes....to the best of my knowledge, you will be required to take the challenge exam despite already being certified through them. Nevertheless, they are a good organization to get your certification(s) from. Thomas took me to the fire-house to demonstrate proper usage of the O2 Tank, BVM including the use of the EMI Emergency Oral Airway Kit. They were clearly knowledgeable and knowledgeable beyond the typical text-book instructors and I therefore highly recommend this group.
