The instructor came to my house and I did a birth class and infant CPR class with her while I was pregnant. Can't recommend enough!

She said, " When your dad was overseas, and a dance was held, the American Red Cross was there, selling coffee and doughnuts." When asked what made that bad, she said, " They were donated- so the Red Cross was collecting money for donated items! And those guys were not making much money as G.I.s." Fast Forward to 2004, I worked as a physical therapist at an outpatient clinic in southern California. A firefighter came in for an injury on a vast mountain fire. We talked, and I asked him how the food was out there in the middle of nowhere. He said, " Well, we had Starbucks and a place giving out free sandwiches." I asked whether there was an American Red Cross there, and he said, " Yeah, but the coffee was $2.00, and the sandwiches were too expensive. None of us went there." Now, I KNOW the Red Cross does good work. I know that the staff works hard, and sometimes it is a thankless job. But, when you have food donated and still charge substantial funds to people who are risking their lives- no thanks. They help a LOT during floods, earthquakes, etc. But I am not impressed with their " business model." Just my opinion.

I would absolutely recommend Pacific Midwifery to anyone looking for a deeply personal and intimate relationship between patient and doctor where you can feel safe and open and be truly cared for. Very important for women's health in my opinion! Five stars all around.

I would look forward to my appointments with Megan so much. My kids always loved going to see Megan too, they never wanted to leave the office. At a typical appointment you have all the normal listening to the heartbeat, blood pressure etc. but she also spends ample time getting to know you, what you're dealing with in life and what kind of birth you're hoping to have so she can best support you emotionally and physically. My second two boys were born happy, healthy and at home with Megan there to support. I was in my 2nd trimester with my 3rd child when my husband was laid off and forced to find a new job. Fortunately and unfortunately he was able to find a new job very quickly but it was in northern CA. So for the last 4.5 months of my pregnancy my husband was 4 hours away all week and he'd drive home on weekends. When I went into labor it went FAST. I was planning on cleaning, setting up my pullout bed with sheets and filling the tub by myself but by the time I told Megan to come, I wasn't able to move anymore between contractions. Megan picked up right where I left off and quickly got things in order. My sweet husband and my mom were unable to make it to the house before baby came out. So it was just me, Megan and Mary her apprentice. Even though my family couldn't make it, these women showered me with love and support and I was able to focus all of my energy on having my baby. So grateful she is doing what she's doing!
