I had to get my AHA BLS last minute before my new job and I was able to complete the online portion on the first day and take the skills class the next day. Ellery was so helpful and very knowledgable. He even helped me do the skills in a slightly more advanced way since I will be working in a hospital. I really appreciated that he gave us different scenarios to work through and tested our skills but without making us go one-by-one in front of the whole class. Had a great time getting my CPR recert here recently. Ellery was a great instructor. He was thorough, hands on and very helpful in keeping with what had changed recently so it stuck well in this old gal's brain. This was my 30th anniversary year for CPR certification so I have had many a class over the years. This was one of the best. We did not spend all day watching boring videos but instead had more group discussion and practice to be sure we were prepared when it really counts. My one and only issue was with the AHA's new e-card system which gave me some trouble (nothing to do with the instructor or location at all!) I contacted Ellery and he was able to help get it all resolved and got my card to me right away so kudos for the additional help, that was really above and beyond! My one wish was that there was an option to take the mannequins up to table height level for those of us who are older and have had several knee or back surgeries over the years. Yes I acknowledge that CPR is a physical sport where a person's life is at stake and in a real life event I will be throwing myself on the floor to perform it if someone should drop in front of me. However, this is a class and I am an older woman with many medical issues. I currently practice medicine by telephone and do not even touch patients physically but am required to keep myself certified. It seems a bit much to be on my bad knees which I have had several surgeries on multiple times for several hours of class time. Just my two cents on that. This is the first class for medical professionals I've had in the past 15 or so years where the dummies were not actually at table height for the duration of the class. As 99 percent of hospital employees practice on patients in the bed or gurney it's just more realistic. Anyhow, next time I will need to be more prepared for the floor time! read more

Ellery is a great instructor. He really makes an effort to explain and teach things clearly and accurately the first time around. There is a lot to learn in the Healthcare Provider BLS course, but when I left this class I felt that it was all presented so clearly that I will definitely retain the information. I've taken this class through Sierra Vista before and I prefer Ellery's class by far. He has plenty of CPR dummies to practice on. I loved the Star CPR/ First Aid/ AED for Pediactrics and Adults that I took. I was required to get my certification for work and am so glad I did the certification there in person. It was well worth the price and cheaper than most of the other CPR classes around. The instructor also made learning CPR fun! I never realized how awesome a CPR/ First Aid class can be.
