I'm sure they stay busy but it was disappointing to not be able to have any questions answered. In the end we decided to look elsewhere. Also of interest- I think the dog I wanted to meet was still over seas and maybe that's why they didn't respond? So just be aware if you see a dog on their web site it may not yet be imported. So maybe one star isn't fair? Either way a quick email or note would have been appreciated. That said I'm grateful anyone takes the time the rescue a dog. We've have had a successful overseas adoption in the past & was considering it again (the group we used before doesn't seem to be rescuing currently).

Let us know of some medical work she had & provided plenty of video, photos and a live whatsapp meeting to show us raili and guarantee her health and disposition. We were smitten, said yes, and picked her up a month later at SFO. These dogs are not easy, but a year later it has been the best decision we've ever made. Raili has gone from shy and reserved to a goofy confident dog. the formosan breed is very fight or flight so it is important to give them time to adjust, but also make them face challenges and overcome their fear. Adopt a doggie gave us referals to Brent Cooper (cooperhaus training). and we worked with him for a short while to help with training and confidence building. These dogs are work, but if you have the time it will absolutely work out.

Wow this is my first rescue dog - we adopted a 5 yr old English Pointer named Stuart. This is my…read more5th dog, but I've always gotten puppies (3 German Shepherds & 1 small mutt dog). I wanted an adult dog to add with our little mutt dog. We've had him for a total of 6 days now. Hands-down this dog is amazing. He's a great example of why you'd want to adopt an adult dog as he's slid right into our family - exceptionally housebroken (learned the sliding glass door immediately), got right in the car & road (continues to do so as he just sits upright or down -no fuss), easy on the leash when walking, doesn't bolt to take off after anything so far, gentle mouth when taking treats, understands no & wants to please, so far no separation anxiety at all, and gets along with my older kids & little dog and knows his basic commands (sit, wait, etc). He's easier than the puppies I've had. He's naturally adjusting in that he has low growled when we hugged to long or he couldn't see - that's normal as he's learning to trust us or at my little dog when she first got too close. But its looking like he's adjusting to her better as she accidentally rolled off the couch on to him as he was sitting below at my feet. She landed on him-he just got up, no growling or anything, more like what happened as he just got up and sat. His anxiety came at night when he threw up bubbles twice but no more now. I appreciated TVAR's relaxed approach in the process when we wanted to meet. I've had a rescue want me to meet on a weekday in the SF avenues to meet the dog as they were in a hurry. For me to get over there with my family to meet meant after school so essentially I wouldn't get back till after 8 PM. We didn't do that but the expectation was too hard and didn't seem practical as we'd be rushing. TVAR was great as they just said meet at the Petfair happening at the Farmer's Market. This worked perfect as we were able to meet in an atmosphere that was us as well as see how Stuart was amongst lots of people and dogs. We were able to take the time to discuss Stuart with his foster Mommy as well as with the TVAR rep. If you ever want to consider an adult dog, I would given Stuart is a textbook fabulous dog. I appreciate the fact that TVAR took the time to save his life so we could find him. We never would have without them. Plus their description was dead-on the money - they weren't overselling him, they actually undersold him given how great he's been so far. Kudos to TVAR.

Aaron is a godsend…read more I adopted my wonderful big 10-yo pittie, Benson, last year. For the past year, we've been going at it HARDT on our Tues/Thursday daycare commutes. Up at 5 am; catch the train at 6; walk through West Oakland at 6.30 am; drop off Benson at daycare at 7. Do it again in the opposite direction at the end of the day. We are both worn out. I met Aaron randomly and told him about dog owners without cars needing transport for stuff. I mean, yeah, Lyft says they take dogs but dogs with a big head and reputations like mine...well, pits make folks nervous. Aaron said, We do that! I signed up as soon as I could. Aaron met Benson, took us on a test drive, and I have support as a Dog Mama! And now Benson and I aren't killing ourselves and wearing down our middle aged joints to get to daycare at the crack of dawn. My dog loves being in cars and now we're doing it safely and efficiently. I am SO GRATEFUL for Aaron and the No Bark Zone!

We celebrated my daughters birthday here and my daughter came out saying that this was the best…read morebirthday party that she's had. All of her friends, 10 of them also had a great time so much that one of them had to get a pet the immediate next day. This was quite clean and meticulously kept up. The host was so gracious and kept the kids entertained and engaged and also took care of the animals quite well. They did not rush us out of the party and let us take our time last the 2 hour mark. I plan to come back to bring my daughter for the Calico crew events. Highly highly recommend this.

East Bay SPCA in Dublin is a top-notch, 5-star facility!…read more I have adopted a puppy; taken 2 puppy classes; attended a birthday party; and been on a Girl Scouts field trip here. My review is based on my various experiences here. Here are some things I learned... There is a vet clinic onsite, and they automatically give each animal a checkup and make sure they're healthy after their arrival, clean and groom them, spade and neuter them, get them vaccinated and microchipped, and even do a personality test and professional photoshoot before they go up for adoption! (None of these services do you pay for, by the way, when you adopt. They are all included! You only pay for the small adoption fee!) And get this... When you are interested in adopting one of the animals, you don't just get to take them home. They require EVERY member of the household to meet the animal, including baby and other dog/cat, in order to lower the chance of the animal being returned (which would be very sad). I thought this was SO well done! So I put down a deposit to make sure the people in line for my sweet puppy didn't snag my little guy and returned within 24 hours with all of my kids so we could take him home. (Let's just say running and squealing was involved, haha!) Everyone I have met at the East Bay SPCA was incredibly professional, quick to help, and friendly. It was such a wonderful experience. I was so impressed by the SPCA that they've become one of the organizations I donate to now.

The vet told us she was an untrustworthy Dog, and we should reconsider. Thank GOD we didn't listen to the vet. Instead we hired Meryl, who really worked hard to earn Kona's trust. Since Kona likes other dogs, she went home and brought back Marco - and voila it was magic - Kona instantly bonded with Meryl. 4 More sessions, and Kona learned to meet new people, stop her aggressive attacks, and most importantly "wait". We were back at the vet recently, and the tech remarked "wow, Kona is a new Dog". It's true, we now know how to manage Kona and she s a happy confident dog

Having worked in the Animal fields for many many years with many trainers, I have to stress that Meryl is far more experienced and superior than your average dog trainer! She has helped us with many dogs with moderate to incredibly severe behavioral issues, as well as an array of dogs who required extra help to learn to pay attention to their people/listen and Meryl is also great at helping people understand how to manage many situations. Meryl is one the very few trainers around who truly understands canine behavior in and out.. she is not a basic cookie cutter trainer who will just teach the basics of how to get your dog to sit, down, etc, although she is great at that as well. I always appreciate how honest and upfront she is about everything and what the options are for each dog. I would highly recommend her to anyone needing basic training, a behavior assessment, or serious guidance and behavior modification help with their dogs. If you follow what she tells you to do, and put in the work, you will be amazed at the results and the improvement in your relationship with your canine.

From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed and supported. Emily and Shelby were especially amazing. They were both so kind, patient, and genuinely helpful throughout the whole process. They took the time to answer all of my questions, made sure I felt confident, and really showed how much they care about the animals and the adopters. You can tell the staff truly prioritize the well being of the pets and want to match them with the right homes. Everything was organized, transparent, and efficient. Valley Humane Society plays a critical role in our local pet adoption ecosystem, and we had the…read moreprivilege of being given a tour recently. VHS goes to local county shelters and saves well-behaved cats and dogs that are about to be euthanized because of overcrowding. They have a medical clinic onsite that does a wellness check, and then their 200+ volunteer army steps in to foster and care for these cats and dogs, while permanent homes can be found. Our tour focused on the cat side of VHS. First we checked out the youngest kittens, which are kept in separate rooms, followed by Kitty City, which houses the remaining cats onsite (the rest are in foster homes). We met all the Catizens of Kitty City, including Mayor Big Bird, who has since been adopted, and several others with interesting personalities and histories, like Donna, Dealership, and Zombie (my favorite!). The animals are lovingly cared for, and the operations at VHS are well-organized (e.g. laundry area, kitchen and break rooms, etc.). Kitty City also includes an outdoor play area for cats, affectionately called "The Catio" !! Thank you, Valley Humane Society, for all that you do for our community.

He soon evolved into a ball of energy with increased enthusiasm and decreased focus. Angela welcomed him with such patience, kindness, and skill. She helped us understand how to channel all that puppy energy in the right direction and ease our concerns when we felt frustrated -- and we felt frustrated A LOT. With guidance and consistency, Marlo not only earned his STAR Puppy Certificate but also his Canine Good Citizen certification--something we honestly doubted would ever happen. What we appreciated most about Naughty to Nice was how supported we felt as new puppy parents. They celebrated every milestone with us and gave us the confidence to continue building on Marlo's learnings. Marlo indeed went from naughty to nice all thanks to this incredible team.

Toshi, my 14 week Shiba puppy and I came to Nikolett and Angela for a 1:1 private session after our…read morepuppy was having some biting issues and harness/grooming aggression. He overall is very eager to learn and was doing well with his early obedience training but definitely runs the house. Within ONE HOUR, Toshi was able to tolerate the harness, and for the FIRST TIME since he came home, he let me brush him for a minute straight without biting me!!! We got so many great tips and a list of homework to work on until our second private session later this week before we start our AKC STAR Puppy classes (already secured the date!) I cannot thank them enough for their tips, their kind words and efforts towards Toshi and I am confident to believe he will be a great dog with the right tools.
