Had scheduled a nuclear stress test. That morning I woke up very sick, I thought I had Covid but…read moredid not fortunately. I went online and cancelled my appointment, hoping to reschedule it at a later date. A couple days later I get a bill from the for $100 for being a no show. I called and told them I was sick and was told you must cancel no later than 24 hours before your appointment. Well the day before I felt fine. I have gone around around the block with them to no avail. Now every month I get another statement for $100. I will never do business, in any capacity, with Duly Health. Maybe I should have just gone in and got everyone sick too...

To the best of my knowledge, I have not been to a Duly facility. I don't recall the name of the provider, though at least this time they told me their name. Last time, billing said they didn't have that information. Well, it appears they do indeed have access to that information. Which, had they given it to me before, I likely could have had this mess sorted out. I've never been without health insurance and I keep my doctors up to date with any changes to my information. They didn't process something correctly and are blaming me for their error. They say that I requested paperless billing, I absolutely did not. I prefer receiving all medical bills by mail. I have no idea where they sent things. Cool. Just what you want to think about regarding private health information. They billed me under my married name, that is not my legal name as I never went through legally having it changed, nor is it the name I am insured under or use when receiving medical treatment. If you billed my health insurance using a name that doesn't match their records, of course they'll deny the claim. That doesn't mean I am uninsured. It means you are incompetent. Why would you use a name other than the one I provided you at the time I received medical treatment? So here I am, trying to sort out a mess for a bill I've only recently received, for treatment I received almost 3 years ago. It's not about the amount, as it's thankfully a small bill. It's the principle. I shouldn't have to pay for services that were covered by my insurance.

#1-2021 June 2020 after about 15 months of having trouble…read morewalking far distances wondering what could be going on I started looking online not really to self-diagnosed but to get a ballpark idea. I thought perhaps it was classic clotting circulation issues like a DVT so I started wearing compression socks they didn't really seem to do much good for the most part I still had trouble walking even a block without having to stop and rest. so that ruled out a deep vein thrombosis I started looking at other issues pad became something I started reading about peripheral artery disease. you have to have a test for it but I began seeing symptoms that were definitely classic pad skin color little discoloring in the legs, what became now as I found out claudication basically like angina like in heart arteries but in your legs where you get pain but then at rest it goes away. testing for pad was fairly easy simply either doing ABI ankle brachial index test or ultrasounds Doppler. having been home I decided to leave a message that I would be in and I seem to be experiencing what seemed like PAD. now I haven't had a regular doctor at the time in June for almost five and a half years when I quit smoking cold turkey after 2 to 3 pack day habit for 19 years. so I simply looked up what's the best way to check for pad and it said to see a cardiologist. so I found her office it was very nice and professional looking it sits in a business park with a lot of other medical and law buildings, I'd read a few reviews on Google that for some reason people for the most part were said she's average but she was close by and I decided she was able to get me in so I went. checked in with Lindsey who is very helpful in more ways than one even when I'm on the road. I gave her my insurance card and a few minutes later they brought me in she introduced herself asked what brought me in I said well for one I don't have a doctor for years and I haven't had anything really as far as checkups or nothing and I've seem to have what it feels like the symptoms of classic PAD. first thing she did is check my blood pressure it was sky high she said are you on blood pressure medication I said nope. and then did a A1C test which came back not good and said I pretty much have type 2 diabetes mellitus but not insulin dependent can get hopefully regulated with pills. so they started me on lisinopril 20 mg and then some metformin and a cholesterol pill Roustavstatin two months later I came back blood pressure was still little better but not great she decided to up me to 40 mg of Lisinopril and then stay on the metformin and recommended a doctor for diabetes next door who was really good and the ultrasounds were done in the office and I didn't not have to go to the hospital. however they did definitely say PAD is present both legs. not from driving a truck though like a DVT but brought on from years of smoking. after 6 months though my levels are amazing for the most part everything is going down which is literally amazing to me with the help of all these pills I don't mind taking between vitamins and everything pills almost 18 pills a day because they're spread out over three times a day. some have to double up so 2 pills for 1 dose but I originally had blood pressure sitting at 153 over 104 triglycerides off the charts at 3,680 cholesterol 565 blood sugar way up glucose 278 the good LDL not good the bad LDL bad. A1C was 9.2 will get to that at other Doc 6 months later 12/20 my blood pressure at last check was 132 over 80 a significant drop triglycerides 352 wow 330 norm Chol 174 norm "200" ya! LDL good 80 now 100 almost HDL good 40 now 52 yay Glucose level 166 norm 139 close and to help get the triglycerides really good they also started me on Vacepa which I qualified for a very expensive pill but through insurance was able to get it for $9 for 3 months hopefully it stays that way and see what the Vacepa does for combining with with the statin that I take. So in a way if it wasn't for PAD I would have never known I had all these other things that I basically inherited from my dad. thanks for starting to get me back on track. one thing to know from Google reviews Dr Kathleen is very business forward moves quickly diagnosing the problem is not one really to converse about regular things for most part. she's 3 days in the Orland Park offices usually Monday Tuesday and Thursday other times I believe she's at the hospitals where she is a regular visiting doctor for people.

Failure to return calls, disrespectful tone, inaccurate information are just three of her hallmarks. I used to wait until she was not in the office to call about the care for my elderly parents. It is surprising to me that she has continued employment. Stay away from this practice if ANGIE in Joliet, IL is the nurse assigned to your doctor or find another doctor in this practice. If you are experiencing heart issues, encounters with her will probably only exacerbate any issues you may have or lead to incorrect information being given. I know this firsthand. Follow-up: After over 20 years with Dr. K at this practice, we are switching doctors due to ANGIE's choices in behavior toward patients. Same practice, just different doctor solely due to ANGIE's lack of professionalism. Nurses can make or break a doctor's practice as they are the lifeline between the doctor and the patient. Dr. K's prior nurse was epic!!! We would wait for her to be in the office to call for assistance.

When I had my second MI 3 months after a stress test I moved to Heart care cardiologists in Mokena. At first they seemed as if they cared. Once again my complaints of chest pain were ignored and once again I had another heart attack. My 3rd. I was stented at Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox by the Heartland Cardiology team. I switched to their team and Dr. Jain. Here I found a caring team. I've had more cardiac events but most were because of my stubbornness. When I finally did tell them I wasn't feeling well, they instantly put an effective plan to deal with it. After all my issues, I still have a strong heart. I'm still able to do the things in life I want to do. They take me seriously. Never belittle me. They are my cardiologists for life.

Heart Care Centers of Illinois Mokena, Illinois…read more The quality of care by my husband's cardiologist and my cardiologist, have been excellent, however, the office staff, the office supervisor and the lack of the 21 century computer technology has NOT been good. We have had numerous problems getting our medications refilled with their office staff blaming the pharmacy for not transmitting (faxing) the refill requests appropriately. Per the office supervisor, they have "problems with numerous pharmacies." As stated to the office supervisor, if there are numerous problems with numerous pharmacies faxing these requests, then it would appear that the real problem may be on the receiving end (Heart care) and how these medication refill requests are not being processed appropriately by the Heart care staff. It would be in Heart care's best interest (along with patients' best interests) for this healthcare provider to invest in computer systems or programs that allow for electronic transfer of medication prescriptions or refill requests, as almost all other health care providers do, instead of relying on archaic fax transmittals. It was impossible to speak to a nurse or our cardiologist, as the office staff screen our call and deny access to care by the physician or healthcare professional. This is a dangerous practice as the office staff are not medically qualified to do this. I hope that in the near future, Heart care steps into the 21st century with their computer systems, software and office management. As for my husband and I, we will be looking to find a new cardiologist office that takes quality of patient care, management and computer literacy as a priority.
