All of the women are rude and have a nasty attitude. I made a total of 7 calls and I was spoken to rudely. The last call I was told I had to reschedule because I couldn't find the entrance door. The lady hung the phone up in my face and after several attempts to address her rudeness no one would answer. I read the negative reviews before coming but I overlooked them since I was referred to them by my nutritionist. Bottom line I wouldn't go here if it was free. Consider yourself warned- take your time and money elsewhere.

I have a slight sensitivity to shrimp and listed this on a medical questionnaire with a new employer. My employer required me to see my Dr to confirm this was not a serious allergy to shellfish. I went to Associated Allergists in January 2023 for a skin test. Once the test was completed a nurse reviewed my arm and said there was no reaction to any of the allergens. I saw NO reaction on my arm. The Nurse Practitioner (NP) said she noticed a reaction under lobster. There was no reaction. I told her I saw nothing. She stated if I wanted to go for a blood test, I could do that as well. I went to Quest Labs and within 24 hours I received my results. Lobster was absent/undetectable. Shrimp was Very Low Level. I sent these results to the NP, however she had already sent my forms back to my employer stating I had a positive reaction to Lobster and based on a situation I shared from 41 years prior, she listed me as having an anaphylaxis reaction to shellfish. My employer used this information to limit my access to certain profitable job opportunities. As a result of this report a contract I was scheduled to begin was rescinded. My employer said I can request a review after 1 year. I requested that review in 2024 and was told based on the form completed by the NP my ban was permanent. The one option was to see my Dr again and request a food challenge. My employer said they never received the results of the Quest Lab blood test showing Lobster as absent/undetectable. I decided to get another opinion and found a new allergist. I completed a new skin test (10) allergens. This test revealed ZERO reactions. There was NO reaction to Lobster. My new Dr. stated that since it does not show in my bloodwork or my skin test, it is unlikely I am allergic to lobster. However, the only way to have this misdiagnosis removed from my employment records is to complete a food challenge at my Drs office. I have eaten Lobster at home so I know this will not be an issue. I will schedule the food challenge for next week. I am very disappointed with my experience at Associated Allergists. This past year has caused me stress, as well as a loss of income and opportunities. In hind sight I realize I should have asked for someone else to review my skin test results because the NP clearly did not see a reaction to Lobster. It will cost me $500 to correct this error. If you decide to go to this location, ask to see the Dr only. Please don't settle for less. Avoid my year long ordeal.

He was local and received good reviews so decided to try him. He examined me and told me my left nostril was severely deviated and he recommended surgery. Not wanting surgery, I elected to try meds and spray which didn't do much. I had my annual physical with my doctor this Feb and while we were wrapping up, I told him I was considering septoplasty surgery however wanted to do a sleep study first. My Dr. looked into my left nostril and right away told me to get the septoplasty done asap. I met with Dr. Bliz again to schedule surgery. He told me he does surgery out of Metro South in Blue Island. I was really hoping it'd be at Palos Hospital or Silver Cross in New Lenox, but whatever. My surgery was the second week of March. First of all, I was all wrong on Metro South. The place was nice and clean and the nursing staff were super friendly. So that was awesome. Next, recovery. It sucked, period. One piece of advice, DO NOT bend over to pick up anything after septoplasty. If you do, blood will gush out of your nose. Yes, that happened to me just a few hours after surgery and my wife had to rush me to Bliz' office. Well, he stopped the bleeding and I went home that weekend and just laid on the couch, changing bandages every few hours. Dr. Bliz gave me his cell number and told me to text (I could barely talk) or have my wife call if we had any questions over the weekend. I texted him a few times with questions and concerns and he replied right away which I appreciated. After a few days I went back to him as he pulled out the crap in my nose and I was finally able to breath through my nose for the first time all weekend, however, my left nostril was still clogged. He told me that it would take 2-3 weeks before the swelling went down before I'd notice I can finally breath through my left nostril. Right around week 3, it happened. I could FINALLY breath through my left nostril. Dr. Bliz did what he said he'd do, fix my nose. Not only did he do a great job but he's super cool and friendly too, which matters to most civilized people. I will refer anyone I know who is looking for an Ears/Nose/Throat doctor to Dr. Bliz. He now has a patient for life with me, my family and my friends.

First, I made an appt two weeks in advance and a week prior to my appt I received a call telling me something along the lines of them "not having available time" Secondly, When I arrived in the room, there was no place for me to put my belongings so I had to place them on a nearby chair. The therapist never told me her name and I had to ask for it at the end of my service. Lastly, my appt was for an hour massage which was supposed to go from 4:15-5:15. After the therapist was done rushing my massage, when I looked at my watch it was only 5:09-shorting me 6 minutes. I give this place 2 starts simply because the massage itself was decent.

After a number of sessions, my back continued to improve until the pain was completely gone. About every year or so, it seemed my back pain would reoccur in spite of the fact that I was physically fit and very disciplined with my exercise program. It was then that Dr. Potekhin suggested that I come in monthly for an adjustment to keep the progress that we had made from regressing. That was the best suggestion ever. Now, I see Dr. once a month for a "tune up". I have been doing this for the past 5 years or so. And not once have I had a reoccurrence of my back going out or the nerve pain associated with it. Dr. Potekhin in very gentle in her approach, yet very strong. She is kind, compassionate and is an expert in her field . I consider her my sports therapist, and I have no doubt that seeing her on a regular basis has allowed me to continue my sports and exercise regime without injuries and back pain. I highly recommend Dr. Pothekin who will definitely help alleviate your existing pain as well as keep you pain free so that you can enjoy life. I have no doubt that my monthly visits to Dr. Potekhin have prevented me from injuries. Kathleen K. 12/30/15

To put it into perspective, it was 7 months post surgery before I could even walk on a treadmill. By the time I got to Dr. Gus, I thought I was done being active even though I was just in my mid 20s. But through treatments with Dr. Gus and Apllied Wellness's feasible Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy treatments, I was able to become more than active again as a healthy, athletic adult. Moving forward as a patient at Applied Wellness, one is able to maintain an upkeep of their health through the blood tests one can get. Typically, if you go to your general doctor for blood work, it could take months before hearing back the results. Also, in my personal experience, the results come back via mail saying to just take more blood tests. When getting your blood work done at Applied Wellness, Dr. Gus will physically review the results with you there showing you what's going on with your blood and then go over a proactive plan of attack for any issues at hand. The icing on the cake is Dr. Gus's vast knowledge on nutrition. My eating habits have taken a complete 360 degree turn for the better so I have been able to change my life around for the long-lasting improvement. For when I was in college playing football, I just thought I could eat whatever I wanted because I was active and still had a youthful metabolism. I just lacked the overall proper nutritional knowledge. Dr. Gus will share with you the knowledge to turn your eating lifestyle for the better.

Dr. Gus was recommended to us by a member of our same church who told us what a wonderful doctor he was and how his nutritional and health based treatments significantly improved his medical condition. My son started meeting with Dr. Gus twice weekly for hyperbaric oxygen treatments to help improve his immune system and monthly with Dr. Gus for chiropractic treatments. Within 1-2 months of his initial appointment, my son's speech significantly improved in both the quantity of language that he used and in the complexity of his language. Jared has also regular blood tests to check his blood flow and levels of oxidation in order to make sure my son's body is properly absorbing the vitamins and minerals he was taking. Two years later my son continues to improve in his use of spontaneous language and overall physical development. I was so impressed with my son's improvement that I also started receiving chiropractic treatments and nutritional based therapy from Dr. Gus, and in turn, my overall energy level has also made significant improvements. Dr. Gus is very easy to talk with and truly listens to the concerns of his patients. When both my son and I had blood tests performed, Dr. Gus fully went over the results with us and actually showed these results on screen. That way I could see both the positive and negative areas so a good treatment protocol can be started. That really made a difference with me. You can tell that Dr. Gus truly cares about his patients and he also lives what he believes. Overall, I would highly recommend Dr. Gus and the Applied Wellness Center.
