History

Established in 1995.

In 1994 the owner and founder of Heartland Computers, Carl Bootsma was changing the oil of his 1984 Chevy Cavalier on a hot July afternoon when over the radio he heard about a job fair at a fast growing tech company Gateway 2000. Dressed in a white t-shirt with oil stains he hopped in the Cavalier and drove down to the cow spotted buildings in Sioux City, IA. With a down-to-earth charisma only found in the Midwest, Gateway hired Carl, oil stains and all! Carl excelled and in 1995 Heartland opened its first store in Sioux Center, IA. The company grew and provided service contract work for such manufactures as Gateway, Dell, HP, Compaq, along with major retailers Sears and Best Buy. Today Heartland has relocated to our new office at 3500 S Minnesota in Sioux Falls, SD. We provide customers with the area's best computer repair service and one of the largest selections of laptops, netbooks, desktops, all-in-ones, and iPads.
