Evyn does a great job explaining exactly what hospice is and how it's really not as "scary" as it sounds. So happy we have become more knowledgeable about what hospice truly is and all the supportive measures that are loved ones have available during these times.

The nurses are top notch, and always kept me apprised of changes in his health and any recommendations they had to improve his care. Special thanks to Craig who primarily provided my father's care in his last weeks. They provided a full range of services including nursing, social workers, a chaplain, volunteers, and even music therapy. My father had Type 1 diabetes which made his care more complicated but they did a great job handling the challenges diabetes can present. Traditions Health's team also did a wonderful job navigating the intricacies of healthcare and communication between the memory care facility where my father was at, his primary care physician, and me. I always felt updated and involved and never had a question go unanswered. They treated my father with great respect and care and I always felt he was getting the best care he possibly could. On top of all that their compassion was unmatched. I have nothing but gratitude for their services during such a difficult time in my and my father's life.

Every team member demonstrated this compassion; from the bathing aid (Ronnie), nurse and case worker (Anastasia), social worker (Sandie), Admissions Director (Gaza), to the Bereavement Coordinator (Nathan). Please forgive me for other team members that I didn't have the honor of meeting in person but I thank you as well. This team constantly updated me on my dad's condition and made sure I was well informed as to what to expect next. I don't know how the owner (Joey) accomplished such a feat of finding an entire team with compassion, but I am thankful that he did. We never had a need for supplies or equipment, and when a team member made a suggestion for different supplies or equipment it was immediately executed. Thank you Joey and your team for going above and beyond the "standard of care".

Update (April 2026)…read more Compassionate Care Hospice's response illustrates their unprofessionalism and willingness to provide dishonest information. Below are OFFICIAL findings directly from the FINAL report by the California Department of Public Health (Complaint Number 2641478), which indicated that Compassionate Care was being investigated based on multiple serious complaints within a short period of time -- yet it continues to misrepresent the findings by the Department of Public Health. If they spent as much time combating negative reviews by their customers and fabricating disinformation as they do on patient care, maybe they wouldn't have so many one-star reviews to begin with. "The initial plan of care, updated plans of care, initial assessment, comprehensive assessment, updated comprehensive assessments and clinical notes - This STANDARD is NOT MET as evidenced by: Based on record review and staff interviews, the hospice failed to ensure completion of clinical record to reflect the family member's concern regarding a change in the patient's condition. This failure created the potential for not having the patient's current condition to provide necessary care and services for the patients. " "Signed copies of the notice of patient rights in accordance with Section 418.52 and election statement in accordance with Section 418.24 - This STANDARD is NOT MET as evidenced by: Based on staff interview and record review, the hospice failed to ensure the written addendum showing diagnoses and non-covered items was completed with the actual date completed/provided to the patient/family member... This failure had the potential for not having an accurate information on the patient's clinical record." Read the above for yourself and see if you believe the official report found no deficiencies as asserted by Compassionate Care. There is a clear lack of ethics and humanity toward their patients. A simple phone call or email to the grieving family with an apology would have been a good start, and yet they are incapable of admitting their shortcomings and chose to fabricate results of the findings. I urge anyone considering Compassionate Care to contact the California Department of Public Health regarding the complaints and think hard about whether you would want this organization to care for your family member during their last moments.

My wife & I immediately liked her, she was very informative answering all our questions and explained their process from the beginning to the end. We set up an appointment for my older sister (from Iowa), step father ( in La Habra) and I ( from Nevada) to meet with her. My step father really felt comfortable with her and initially not wanting to go thru hospice decided to sign up with Seasons Hospice. Within days of signing up and reaping their immediate care, Donald took a turn for the worst. The hospice nurse felt he had to be in an assisted living facility for 24/7 care. Leanna worked diligently all day Saturday & Sunday to obtain assisted living facilities which had open beds, close to La Habra and affordable cost for our step father. We were able to relocate Donald in less then a week to an assisted living facility. It would have been even faster if not for having to order a TB test & COVID test prior to him going into the home. She also let us know she was always available for questions or other possible needs at anytime. We were all so pleased with the staffing help from Seasons. They were all professionals, kind, caring and treated Donald so well. We were able to experience quite a few of the staff from their Circle of Care template. We highly recommend Seasons Hospice and special thank you to Leanna for helping a long distance relationship with the family in making this all work.

I question the high review for Seasons in Orange County, as this was not my experience as the…read moreoverseer of the care of my loved one. The volunteers were excellent but the team itself was managed poorly, thus not cohesive or aligned, and no fluid communication system. Instead the office team I heard met daily on the phone, but I don't think any meaningful organization was ever choreographed. Follow-up was rare without a call to ask the status on some request that had been requested to their staff. Seasons suggested they start their services early to develop a relationship with my loved one so that Seasons could be supportive upon death. Yet, the Nurses schedules did not allow them to schedule visits when we told them the patient would be awake daily - IMO there is no excuse - relationship development is their work. I had a daily caregiver that I managed for my loved one and asked repeatedly for Seasons Nurse to provide updates to ME after visiting - they promised to do so - NEVER - except maybe one time did I get an update - it was all in a log book on premise that I did not have access to since I did not live nearby. This again, is unacceptable as the person responsible and overseeing the daily care of a loved one. The doctors were neither impressive and did things that were not legit from a medical perspective. Since Medicare pays Seasons, I think it is very hard for them to attract good talent - which may be true for all hospice care - buyer beware. So keep your loved ones doctor til the end. I asked up front during the initial intake, if turnover was an issue, they lied and said no. Turnover IS a huge issue, and in part it was how they treated and worked their caregiver staff. During the entire time, and even following the loved ones death, I was never given a survey for Seasons services. Interesting, huh? No continuous improvement, they tried, but not the right leaders in place. I could go on, but my recommendation is 1) don't believe the answers they give you in the initial intake interview - its an undeliverable sales pitch that they were not able to deliver on, 2) their nurses are very impersonal and cold (not sure why, but just is - perhaps burned out, or should be working behind the scenes) so no engagement ever occurred with my loved one who was very loving and engaging, 3) go on referrals from families NOT on doctors that do not have first hand knowledge of hospice services. Lastly, to my surprise, Seasons was not there when my loved one was dying nor offered to be there, likely because they were perhaps over extended. Don't believe all the hype of hospice. The greatest benefit and value my loved one received was the free bed baths, and medical supplies (reimbursed by Medicare). The nurses were not impressive or helpful as you would hope in such a situation.

It starts with the people and the culture they've built. You can immediately tell this is a team that genuinely cares, not only about their patients and families, but about each other. Angela, the owner, leads with so much heart, compassion, and purpose. Over the years, I've watched her create a culture where people feel valued, supported, and inspired to do their best work. Tracy, the Administrator, is an incredible leader who leads by example and helps ensure that same level of care and excellence is felt throughout the organization. Linda, their Community Liaison, is one of those people who brings positive energy everywhere she goes. She genuinely loves helping seniors, families, and her community, and it shows in the relationships she builds. Johnny, VP of Business Development, brings tremendous leadership, experience, and passion to the team as well. One of the things I admire most about APEX is the tenure of their team. In healthcare, having great people who stay, grow together, and truly enjoy working alongside one another says so much about an organization. After working with them for over a decade, I've seen how hard they work, how much fun they have, and how consistently they support one another without ever losing sight of why they do what they do.
