I am writing this review to warn the Omaha community about the highly illegal, dangerous, and predatory practices of this company's owner. I accidentally parked momentarily in a lot with incredibly poor, unclear signage while trying to find parking. Before the vehicle was even totally hooked up, I got into my car to move it. Knowing I was actively inside the vehicle, the owner of this towing company completely disregarded my safety and lifted the car into the air anyway. This reckless, criminal action trapped me inside my own vehicle suspended in the air, forcing me to eventually jump out to free myself and avoid severe bodily injury. A parking infraction never justifies a business owner actively endangering a human being's physical safety. Furthermore, while the truck was still completely stationary and had not even left the private property, the owner held my vehicle hostage and personally forced me to hand over $200 in cash on the spot to get my car down, refusing to provide a legally required itemized receipt. This is a direct violation of Omaha Municipal Code § 20-163, which strictly caps the absolute maximum private towing and administrative fee at $175 total--a fee that can only legally be charged with an itemized receipt. Forcing an on-site, undocumented cash transaction under physical threat is extortion. When I later called the company to professionally resolve this dispute, remind him of the city codes he personally broke, and request a refund of the extorted money, the owner completely lost his temper. He yelled at me, treated me like garbage, and hung up the phone. Because the owner himself is the one conducting these criminal acts and running this racket, I have officially filed a formal police report with the Omaha Police Department for unauthorized towing, reckless endangerment, and theft. I will also be taking him straight to Douglas County Civil Court to recover my money and hold him legally accountable. Stay far away from this corrupt business. read more

Heartland Towing, towed my vehicle over the weekend. There is no way for you to get your vehicle out of the lot where your car is. You cannot get your vehicle out until their normal business hours from 10 am to 3 pm, Monday through Friday. You calll the number and a guy tells you to go to a gas station and then he will give you directions from there on how to get to the impound lot. He only takes cash and he takes pictures of your drivers license, front and back and takes pictures of your whole vehicle registration, in his own personal phone. Which I think is absolutely wrong and criminal. Now he has everyones personal information at his disposal and for his own personal use. It is his own perwonal phone that he is taking these pictures of everyones personal information and now he can do with your personal information how he pleases. He can sell it to criminal people and they can completely ruin you, with all your peraonal information that he has. This is absolutely criminal and wrong. I dont know who to contact about this. I am sick to my stomach that this guy has all my personal information at his fingertips and he can do with it whatever he wants. I suggeat everyone who has to get their vehicle out of this lot, contact all your accounts, bank accounts, credit cards, everything. Because this guy and thus business is completely and totally in the wrong for doing what they are doing with getting everyones personal information. Because now they or he can do with your personal information whatever he wants to and whatever their criminal partners want to . I am livid about all of this. My vehicle was towed on a early Saturday night. Tow business message said we cannot retrieve it until business hours 10-3 on monday. So $203 later we got her back on good condition. I pay for my parking spot at an apartment building that has multiple signs that say "PRIVATE PARKING 24 HOURS A DAY - VIOLATORS WILL BE TOWED AT VEHICLE OWNERS EXPENSE" and after calling them to remove a car that was unauthorized to park in my spot, they refused to because "it was the weekend, and the property manager has to call them", although Nebraska statue says property owner or authorized tenant is to call. Zero stars if I could. This so called company had NO physical address to start with. They answer the phone with "Towing". I asked for address so his response: "we don't have a physical address. Go yo Casey's and then we can give you verbal directions over the phone on how to get here." My car was not in their lot 5 minutes, I was charged $203.25! I parked where I have parked for now years, and now I get towed. I told this to the bald head man that supposedly runs this place and his response "well, youve been lucky". I told him I wanted to see my car to make sure no damage was done to or nothing missing, he said " Cant let you on the premises. Need id, keys, and cash only". ANOTHER red flag! I understand I parked where I should not have. But this man was extremely rude. I did not complain about paying since I know I was at fault. I called and asked where he was located. He said to meet him at the Casey's on 72nd and Grover and call him from there for directions. Finally made my way to him. When I arrived there was a few other people there as well as police officers. I told him I was here for my car make and model. He yelled at me and told me I would have to wait my turn. Understand. He told us all that we would have to wait until the owners of the cars in front of ours came to get their vehicles. I told him that was not possible, I had to return to work. He stated their was nothing he could do. I asked if he could move the cars around with the tow truck, he stated that once he towed a vehicle he would not hook them onto his tow truck to move again. Officer told him he needed to give everyone their vehicle back, since no one was refusing to pay his fees. He finally started moving vehicles. They do not care about the vehicles. On one of the vehicles the broke the front bumper from how they tow the vehicles. Another vehicle the back tires were not rotating and they just dragged it. Causing damage to more than 4 vehicles. My sister started recording, and he completely went off on her and yelled at her to go wait in her car. My sister stated she was not going anywhere and was going to record the entire process. The owner got into a heated argument with another man that was waiting there for his car because he was defending my sister from the owner. When I finally got my car, almost 3 hours later I asked him for a receipt and he was extremely upset that I had asked for one. He is obviously not reporting all income. He also stated to take cash only, and only gives change if he has it. Otherwise change is not provided. Paid $202.25. My car was towed from a gas station parking lot and the battery was dead. When we went to pick up the car, he lifted it and dragged it out so we could jump it. When I got in the car to drive it away, the steering was off and the whole car was wobbling. I tried calling Heartland and he said there was no way his tow did anything like that. My car drove perfectly the day before. I took it to the shop and upon diagnostic, was told it was totally unsafe to drive. There are multiple bends in the suspension. I called Heartland back and asked for his insurance policy and he wouldn't give it to me. We'll be headed to small claims. It's unfortunate because he was helpful and we had a good conversation. This place is so dirty, unethical and probably running an illegal towing and theft operation, if we lived in city/state with more business oversight, this crime ring would be shut down and likely owners/perpetrators prosecuted. The tow truck driver actually told me he cruises apartment parking lots looking for towing opportunities. Those apartments where he cruises, are NP Dodge properties. That's where I was towed from, even though I am a paying tenant here and have been so for 18 months. I retrieved my car from a dirt road, under I-80, probably located at about 6601 C Street, from which it had been vandalized, burgled and had the catalytic converter ripped from its exhaust system, about $4,000 in damages by the time I got to it. read more

This man is absolutely awful, not only at services but as a human being as well. not only is he only open for few hours to screw everyone out of money and rack service charges up but does not actually do his job properly. After explaining my car should not have been towed he said not my problem pay the fees and get your car out. He then refused to give the vehicle back and told us to call the cops. Towed our company vehicle, held it hostage and refused to tell us his address (its 6601 C st) told us we needed the owner of the company to fly down or send a notarized snail mail letter allowing him to release it, just an excuse to suck more money out of us. Beware! They towed our vehicle & broke the rod that held the rear wheel to the axle. When we drove it off the lot we nearly had an accident on the interstate because the car was impossible to control due to the wheel wobbling so bad. We got off the interstate & took it to the closest repair shop. They said it was a clean break & not from wear. In the towing industry you tow a vehicle off of private property its because people cant read the signs that say private property vehicle, s will be towed at owners expense . My friend had her car towed by this company and as she is from out of state and also not the owner of the car, the company demanded she notarize certain forms and ONLY snail mail was accepted instead of faxes. Upon notice that the car was towed, we checked other vehicles around us and noticed that they had no proof of permit allowing them to park. Also, on the website, it says they take credit card but the owner claims they only take cash. This business tows cars with out of state license plates and keeps the cars longer than necessary to drag out money. Customer service is a 0/10 as this man is rude and not helpful- not even providing an address for his business. He is inconsiderate of the fact that having your car towed is an unpleasant and tedious task already and seeks only to make the experience worse. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. read more

STAY AWAY! I had my car towed because of parking in the wrong spot. This was on a Monday I was not able to get my car until Thursday because the owner is the only one that works there and if he is not there you have no way of getting your vehicle. On website says they are open until 6pm not true. I was not charged for extra days however it was a real inconvenience not having a car. When I finally got my car back I got home I noticed scratches on the outside and inside of my car I sent a text with the pictures of the scratches asking what happened to my vehicle I was told that he had taken pictures but refused to send them to me said he will keep them safe and secure and it was not his first rodeo. Not a very good business practice. Also says they take major credit cards and checks that is false have to walk to the convenience store to get cash a good way to hide money from the IRS!!!! horrible company. was towed from an apartment complex, even though I was in the designated visitor parking. none of the cars parked right next to me were towed. went to go get my car and he claimed that the area was permit parking only, even though the apartment complex had confirmed it was visitor parking! he started getting angry and yelling, not something a business owner should do if they want good reviews.
