I've been a little hesitant about porting a review for Heather's because I didn't want to share and have a harder time getting an appointment in the future. I can't take it anymore, though, my stylist Katie deserves sooooo many thanks for what she regularly does to my stubborn, grey, fine, thin hair. I go in every 5 weeks and have for about a year now, and she always does such a fabulous job with both color and cut. I think their pricing is very reasonable, the salon itself is very comfy and fresh feeling, and I really can't say enough about how friendly everyone is from the moment you walk in the door and are greeted by the receptionist. I highly recommend Heather's (and especially Katie!) for anyone in Virginia Beach seeking a new salon. read more

The ladies here are wonderful! I called in to see if a same day appointment was available and they were able to accommodate me. I told them I wanted to cut it and get balayage done. They let me know it would be about 2 to 3 hours. Before I went in I stopped at the pizza place next door and broughtnit with me. They immediately told me I was so smart to do that. I am terrible at names so I cant remember the name of the lady at the front desk but she was very cheerful and made me feel welcomed, as well as the stylist with the gorgeous long red mermaid hair. Every stylist had amazing hair Quite a few have curly hair so if you are looking for a place to cut and style curly hair then come here because all of their hair lokkwd amazong and at least 4 of them had beautiful colored treated curly hair. They know what they are doing. The salon its self has a a very relaxing and beachy vibe. Its clean and i like the way it is set up. They did a great job decorating it. Its a fun atmosphere but still feel high end. I love the hand painting on the qall behind the reception with the name of the Salon. The glittered words look beautiful! I do jave tonsay that the music was relaxing but a little to relaxing, i started falling asleep. I prefer when my salon visit is a little more fun. They did switch it up and put on a salsa channel which was more hiphop and Latin music put together. That was more my speed and fun to listen to. The stylist seemed to like it too. Its more fun when we are all having fun! This salon has a fun and relaxing atmosphere. I will definitely reccomend it! My stylist was Melissa. She is highly skilled at what she does. She perfectly placed every highlight and lowlight for my bayalage. I went in with over grown and overly blonde hair that was too golden. She turned me into a natural beachy blonde goddess. She got the cut and style perfect too. She made her job look so easy. She did a flawless cut color and style and I cant wait to go back. She has a sweet personality and makes great conversation. She even gave me some restaurant recommendations since I am new to the area. They are fairly priced and give you a discount if you are going in for the first time. I didnt know that when I went in so I appreciated the fact that they were honest about it and told me. I can't say enough good things about this salon. You can go wrong here. I watched the other stylist and looked at their clients hair and everyone looked amazing. I gave specific instructions and even had pictures of exactly what i wanted but still walked away unhappy. I saw multiple stylists and didn't ever get a good haircut. DO NOT GO HERE. Again, DO NOT GO HERE. The pictures below show what I walked out with. I should have protested more, and asked more questions. So shame on me for not doing that, so I am warning you now. Today is day 5 of me waiting for the owner to call me back. She has not done so. I am left with no choice but to warn you. This was supposed to be a highlight and a haircut (I had a picture!!). My stylist, "K", decided I needed "gloss". I was not advised on this, nor was I told it was going to be an additional $30. Oh, and if you need more color, they charge you $15, and call it "Mermaid Hair". There's a response on another review about why. If you want transparency, don't go here. If you want to walk out looking like a clown, go here. Needless to say, my hair does not look like this anymore. I went to a much nicer, higher end salon, where they didn't nickel and dime me for everything. The owner personally fixed my hair. I remembered to ask the right questions this time. read more

I just had my first visit to Heathers Hair Salon. I am always nervous when trying a new stylist but Cassie made me feel relaxed right away. After the initial consultation, Cassie did an amazing job stying and highlighting my unruly locks. She skillfully gave me a cut that complimented my hair type and recommended products that would help me to maintain my hair with a minimum of time and heat. Have been to see Patti for a haircut and LOVED what she did- Patti wasn't available so I saw Renee and she did a cut and full highlights and I am in LOVE with the color! She had a very challenging job- I'm about 50% grey and I had bleached the front of my hair and left the back dark- it was a nightmare!!! :( She made me feel at ease as I was very nervous and she blended in the blonde with the brown, putting in highlights in places and lowlights in others, and blended my grey in a very natural way. I didn't think it could be done but she will be the ONLY one doing my color from now on!!! It looked AMAZING when she was done, and she did it all plus a gloss in only 2 hours. read more

I don't even know where to begin. I haven't had my hair cut in about three years. I did a lot of searching and talking to people and finally decided it was time to stop in somewhere and I can't begin to express how glad I am that it was here. I was a walk in and they could've fit me in almost right away but also had later availability which worked for me. Cassie took THE BEST care of my hair and I. I wanted to keep my length but get rid of most of my dead ends and just make it healthier. I had to hold back tears when I saw the finished product, my hair is the right length with perfect framing and overall small amount of layers. It was so much more than I had imagined. Some people think a hair cut is just a hair cut but it's so much more than that. Incredibly friendly staff, amazing products (my hair has never been this soft), really cute and clean salon, just an overall great experience. I'd recommend over and over again. read more

Very clean and professional. Cheryl did my hair, very personable. It did not smell like cigarette smoke in there, which is a pet peeve of mine. I don't like smelling smoke on stylists when they come in from their breaks. I find that is common in a lot of salons. It was very pleasant in there today. There was conversation, but the stylists weren't yelling back and forth at each other across the room about personal life drama of their own. I don't know how it is on a day to day basis. But, it was certainly very nice today. They had coffee available, which made me happy for a morning appointment. I understand they serve beer and wine, mimosas, etc. too. I love my hair! I have recently moved to Virginia Beach and was looking for a new hair salon, I saw some reviews on yelp and figured I'd give them a try. Sara was the stylist I chose, and I am very happy I did! The first time I went in Sara did an awesome consultation with me, she was very honest, she understood what I wanted and was definitely able achieve the look I was going for. The hair dresser was incredibly rude. I staid because she started showing her attitude right after she cut off a huge chunk of my hair. I should've left, because she left a very bad taste in my mouth. Still till now. Average haircut. I asked for it not to look like outgrown bangs, but that was exactly what she did. This was my first time at this Salon. It was recommended by a friend. I booked an appointment with Heather, which was only available about 6 weeks out but I figured she was worth the wait. Everyone at the salon was very friendly. Atmosphere is nice and they offer beer and wine. There are also nice bowls of chocolates sitting around. However, I was disappointed with the pricing of my service. I booked a partial highlight and a ladies hair cut. Online these services are clearly quoted as $60 and $30, respectively. When I received my receipt I found out I was charged $100 for partial highlights and $52 for a hair cut, plus a $15 upcharge for "Mermaid Hair" because although my hair is now just below my armpits it apparently took "extra product". I'm not sure why that is because a partial highlight was just to touch up my roots. Anyhow, when I called to ask about these charges, it was then explained to me that there are three pricing tiers depending on what stylist you get. I told them that this is very misleading because only one price is quoted online. There is a caveat that prices can change "for many reasons". I was charged almost double what is quoted online. They would not honor the online quoted price for me. Its okay to charge what you think your time is worth but let your customers know that up front - the website is misleading. I do hope they make their "tiered pricing structure" more transparent on their website. read more
