      You Do Bourbon, a Tasting & Bottling Experience - The You Do Bourbon Tasting & Bottling Experience in Bardstown, KY does not include tours of warehouses or production facilities. This experience is approximately 45 - 75 minutes and may vary based on group size and participation. First, we'll step into the You Do Bourbon classroom for a guided tasting of premium Bourbons exclusively selected for this experience. You won't find these anywhere else. As you sample each one, you'll be encouraged to take notes about color, flavor, finish, and most importantly, which one is your favorite. Next, you'll have the option to bottle your very own bottle of your favorite Bourbon from the tasting. In the bottling room, you'll go through the whole bottling process yourself - rinsing the bottle, filling the bottle, completing the label and applying to the bottle. *Filling your own bottle is optional and requires additional purchase. Bottles are an additional cost and NOT included in the ticket price. Now through April 2025, Heaven Hill is proudly donating $5 from each You Do Bourbon bottle purchased to The Stephen Foster Story, an organization dedicated to celebrating history through music, dance and drama. If you choose to bottle, our team will wrap it up and deliver to the retail shop to purchase at the conclusion of the experience.       Bottled-in-Bond Tour and Tasting - The Bottled-in-Bond Tour and Tasting Experience in Bardstown, KY is a walking tour of approximately 1 mile. This experience does not include tours of production facilities. At Heaven Hill, we’re proud to offer more Bottled-in-Bond brands and produce more Bottled-in-Bond products than any other American Whiskey distiller. During this approximately 90-minute tour and tasting experience, we will visit two bonded warehouses, Warehouse Y and Warehouse H1. During our visit to each warehouse, we will break down the Bottled-in-Bond Act of 1897 and learn about the five (5) requirements to make a Bottled-in-Bond whiskey. Along the way, we will stop and taste up to five (5) Bottled-in-Bond whiskeys from our award-winning portfolio.       Larceny, Cocktails, & Cravings Tasting Experience - The Larceny, Cocktails, & Cravings Tasting Experience in Bardstown, KY is a tasting and food pairing experience only and does not include tours of warehouses or production facilities. Heaven Hill proudly distills several award-winning wheated Bourbons and Whiskeys, such as Larceny Bourbon and Bernheim Wheat Whiskey. To make a wheated Bourbon, wheat is substituted for the traditional rye, creating a rounder, less spicy Bourbon. During this ~45-minute experience, we will pair and taste a selection of our wheated Bourbons and Whiskeys with select food items.       The food was great! We got a Reuben a blt wrap, and onion rings. A Kentucky Kickstart for a beverage. A great place to eat while you're tasting bourbon.

      Went for the Whiskey Connoisseur tasting and was incredibly impressed by our tour guide Josh! We was so knowledgeable and entertaining, everyone had a great time! We also did the new Springs distillery tour. What a beautiful new distillery! We were lucky enough to get to taste the Master Distillers Unity bottle. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Bardstown.

      Loved the museum they had here! Enjoyed browsing and walking around, We didn't have a lot of time but if we did, the You Do Bourbon experience looked really cool. Would've loved to bottle our own bottles while we were there. Their gift shop was also really nice. They have exclusive bottles so make sure to check. They also have non-alcoholic souvenirs which were fun like barrel aged sauces and syrups that are bottled in traditional Elijah Craig bottles. Definitely on our list to come back next time when we have more time to do a proper tour / experience!

      Great tour with a great tour guide! We loved how the tasting was spread out across the tour while walking through 2 rickhouses. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and passionate about bourbon which made the tour even better.

      Disclosure: This was a very brief stop to just hit the gift shop. As there are tastings and tours, I'll be back at a later date to spend most of a day doing everything there is to do. Also, it's very cool to drive in and see the rickhouses off to the left and the actual distillery & warehouse on the right. With that being said, the exhibits they've got when you come in are pretty neat. And the gift shop is pretty wide-ranging in goods. I was able to snag a bottle of Larceny gold mustard, an Elijah Craig apple cider vinegar, and some barrel aged honey. I was also able to get a bottle of the Heaven Hill select stock Armagnac finished bourbon. Between those goodies and a shirt, I was quite pleased with the stop.

      This was my first bourbon tasting experience and I actually really enjoyed it (which is saying a lot from someone who doesn't typically like bourbon, but got roped in by my SO who loves it!). The facility itself is well organized, modern, and clean. We took the Whiskey Connoisseur tasting, which starts with a short video about bourbon and moves onto 5 tastings and a small chocolate pairing. Again- I'm not a huge bourbon drinker, but I had fun trying these unique tastings side-by-side! Our guide was also incredibly informative, and he shared so many interesting facts and knowledge that made the experience more engaging. You could probably spend at least 2-3 hours here, taking tours, wandering the museum, checking out the gift shop, and stopping by the Five Brothers Bar area. If we had booked earlier, we would've loved to experience the warehouse tour or the bottle-your-own.

      Enjoyed our tasting and they have a terrific museum and gift shop. Learned so much by touring the museum. Tasting was great and learned a great deal about your olfactory and bourbons along with how just a few drops of water completely changes the taste. Realized I do not like a Rye whiskey at all. Last call here is not just the bar but the restaurant around 4:30 pm.

      Another great Bourbon tasting and tour on this trip. Actually, this was the first on the trip, but the last reviewed for some reason. As I mentioned, I definitely wouldn't call myself a Bourbon expert or even a novice . . . . but I'm working on it. In fact, I'd never even heard of Bottled-in-Bond before this tour and now I just feel bad for all those government tax assessors who were probably very happy living at distilleries until one day their Jobs got computerized. (Maybe I missed something there . . . . after all, I was drinking Bourbon. It's definitely a must stop in Bardstown. Fun tour, great Bourbon/whiskey, and a beautiful setting. I can't wait to open and share the bottles I purchased there. One hadn't even beer release yet. Maybe by now, though.

      Whisky Business Founded in 1935, Heaven Hill Distillery has been producing some world-class Bourbon County, Kentucky straight bourbon whisky now for nearly 100 years. They sell their whiskies under a myriad of labels, including Evan Williams, Elijah Craig, Larceny, Rittenhouse, and a few others. While their distillery** is no longer located here at this Bardstown location, due to a fire, all the aging, bottling, and shipping operations happen here. This is also where one comes to tour their facilities and sample some world-class spirits. The Good: *The grounds are beautiful and emaculate. Even if you're not into bourbon, this place will definitely drawer you in just with its look. *Staff were all very friendly and welcoming. *There's a bar (Five Brothers Bar) upstairs to go get some cocktails, flights, and straight pours of a large variety of whiskies. *Large gift shop with anything and everything whisky, from bottles that are only sold here to all kinds of Bourbon paraphernalia. They even have bourbon ice creams! :-P *Small, interactive museum telling about the history of Heaven Hill. *A variety of tours that include tastings, tours of the rickhouses (places they age the barrels), and even a bottle your own bottle tour. I chose the latter ("You Do Bourbon"), and it was a fun experience learning about the making of their bourbons, and this type included a small tasting of their barrel-proof offerings. The Meh: *Considering it didn't come with the bottle, $40 is a bit much for the tour. Altho, it did seem everyone did buy a bottle (±$80-150/ea) because otherwise, what's the point?? It's almost like they're charging you for the privilege to purchase a barrel-proof bottle before socking it to you again. Plus, you can only get one bottle per person, and luckily, Carissa's son was 21, so I wrangled him into the tasting so I could get two bootles. #Borracho The Ugly: *Aforementioned bar closes at 5 p.m.--with last call at 4:30 p.m.?! What the what?? 0_o I wish I knew that ahead of time and I could've visited there first! By the time my tour let out, it was too late. #Borracho TLDR: I really should've booked two tours: a tour of the rickhouses and the "You Do Bourbon" tour so that I could've had a more complete experience here at Heaven Hill. Maybe in the future, they can do a combo tour for one "low" price? **They are in the process of rebuilding the original distillery. I believe it's set to open re-open at some point in 2024? But I'm not 100% on that.

      The Heaven Hill Bourbon Experience was NOT what I expected and, frankly, was a little disappointing. I've been on 6 or 7 disterilly tours and all of them to date have shown how bourbon is made; some showed how it's bottled; some show the process from start to finish. And, all had some sort of "tasting" at the end of the tour. The Heaven Hill Bourbon Experience DOES NOT show any of the production and has very little (other than some static exhibits) that explain the process of making bourbon. The Heaven Hill Bourbon Expereince is all about the tasting. There are FOUR different experiences - 3 are centered PRIMARILY around 3 different tastings, inclding one that allows you to "bottle your own". The fourth includes a walking tour of 2 rick houses - coupled with tastings. No bourdon is produced on site although they do all of their bottling here (no tours or visuals). Production is done at a facility about 2 or 3 miles outside Bardstown but there are no tours or visitors allowed at that location. Interesting side note - Heaven Hill owns Evan Williams. The Evan Williams disterilly in downtown Louisville DOES show w bourbon is made. So, if you want the "tasting experience" - go to the Heaven Hill Bourbon Experience. If you want to see how bourbon is made and to learn about the history of bourbon and the distilling process - go to the Evan WIlliams site in downtown Louisville.

      Heaven Hill Bourbon Experience is a MUST if you are in Bardstown, KY. Amazing experience and top notch. Plenty of bourbon and souvenirs to buy not just bottles but food like BBQ sauces , ice cream, clothing, and unique items not found in the local liquors stores. Tours are available too. You will find excellent service and very friendly. Highly recommended.

      Went to Heaven Hill for a tour and tasting. While I enjoyed the experience, I was disappointed that there was no exposure to the mash tanks, still, barreling, or bottling. This is in great contrast to many of the other tours in the area. Just be aware that these stages of the process are not performed at this location.

Out of all of them, Willett ended up being our favorite. We had Michael as our tour guide, and he was fantastic. The tour felt a little different from the others because we got to taste different bourbons throughout the tour instead of all at once at the end. Michael was gregarious, funny, and a great storyteller. He kept everyone engaged while sharing the history of the distillery, the bourbon-making process, and plenty of entertaining stories along the way. One of my favorite parts was seeing all of the photos of the distillery cats at the beginning of the tour. As cat lovers, we absolutely loved that. This distillery has clearly been blessed by some very cute feline employees! We enjoyed tasting the different bourbons, and while the gift shop wasn't huge, it had some really unique items. We even brought home a catnip toy for our two kitties. If you're visiting the Bardstown area, I highly recommend adding Willett to your list. It was easily our favorite distillery experience of the trip.

Rest assured that you exit on a different road, so you'll see no cars trying to run you off on your approach. Worth a stop if you are in town. The structure has two rooms, a gift shop and a tasting room. We skipped a tour (we've been on so many) and headed to the bar. Kelly had a cocktail and I had a flight of Penelope, 1 rye and 2 bourbons. They were solid pours for $17, and I had a decent buzz when I left - the bourbons were 104 and 114 proof, as is the style these days. I especially liked the rye, smooth and spicy. The Architect bourbon was hotter than the barrel proof but both were still good. Lux Row also makes Remus, and the 6 year high rye bourbon is superb - a full bodied, easy drinking pour. If you live in Illnois, its often on sale at Binny's.

Parking lot is gravel and there is a small bump up to the inclined concrete pathway. Aside from the gravel and ramp it is accessible. The farm tour may not be. And last but not least there is a cat, Char, who looks his name. He's a cutie, just a bit shy at first. The bourbon and rye is way pricey but the distillery is worth a visit.

Tour we chose was called "First Family" We didn't need a distillery tour, just wanted to sample. Good lineup of samples and our guide was ok. Really nice space for tasting. It was nice learning about one of the first families of Bourbon. Tried a lot of bourbons I would never want a 750ml bottle of, but really added to my bourbon palate and experience.

This isn't their fault, it's the fault of the tour which booked it. It was a gift shop where we arrived and then were taken to the tasting room. It was nice and I wasn't too impressed with the bourbon. The person doing our tasting seemed annoyed and wasn't very friendly. If you do go to four roses make sure it's the actual distillery because it's very pretty.

One of the highlights was the delicious welcome cocktail they served at the beginning--it was a fun way to kick things off. Since we visited during the summer, the distillery wasn't actively producing bourbon, but our tour guide still did a great job explaining the process and sharing the history of the distillery. The gift shop was also worth checking out. They carry several different bourbon brands, including Penelope Bourbon, so there was a nice variety to browse instead of just a few labels. Overall, it was a well-run tour with friendly staff and a beautiful facility. I'd definitely recommend adding Lux Row to your Bourbon Trail itinerary.

Rest assured that you exit on a different road, so you'll see no cars trying to run you off on your approach. Worth a stop if you are in town. The structure has two rooms, a gift shop and a tasting room. We skipped a tour (we've been on so many) and headed to the bar. Kelly had a cocktail and I had a flight of Penelope, 1 rye and 2 bourbons. They were solid pours for $17, and I had a decent buzz when I left - the bourbons were 104 and 114 proof, as is the style these days. I especially liked the rye, smooth and spicy. The Architect bourbon was hotter than the barrel proof but both were still good. Lux Row also makes Remus, and the 6 year high rye bourbon is superb - a full bodied, easy drinking pour. If you live in Illnois, its often on sale at Binny's.

Their space is amazing and why you should really check them out. They have an outdoor amphitheater featuring a different act on a weekly basis. The space is lush, green and an incredible space to hear music. They even have a location for events including weddings. The staff is lovely and has a great understanding of the offerings and history of the bourbon itself. So check out the space and then drive by the monastery too where they get the name for their bourbon "Monk's Road."

      CopperTop Tours helped my friends and me have a really great and memorable weekend together…read more My wife started the ball rolling by asking some of my friends for ideas for my birthday; one thing led to another, and I ended up meeting a few friends this weekend in Bardstown, with the tours and tastings being the center of the weekend (although Bardstown has plenty of great little attractions to contribute to the overall experience). For future readers, you'll recall that the spring of 2021 was a crazy time, coming off all the COVID lockdowns. Many distillers, who hadn't been open for tours for many months, were finally opening their doors, and demand for tours and tastings far exceeded availability. Tommy apparently has a few connections, and was able to get us the Connoisseur's Tasting at Heaven Hill, and the full tour and tasting at Maker's Mark. The experience was great: The van was large and comfortable, and Tommy--locally raised--knows the area, it's history, and plenty about the distilleries. In addition to the planned stops, he also made an unscheduled stop at the tiny Limestone Branch Distillery so we could taste some craft cocktails and buy some souvenirs. Bottom line: If you love bourbon, and you're looking for a relaxing, enjoyable, and memorable afternoon in the heart of bourbon country, you will not go wrong with Tommy and CopperTop Tours.
