This is an awesome local brewery! Very chill vibe and seems like a good amount of regulars that come here. We sat at the bar; in this room there was bar seating and table seating. There is another room that has more seating. The bartenders here were very nice and welcoming. Loved all of the beers we tried. There have a good variety of styles. Kooper's has a Pit Stop set up here; I didn't partake this time, but the food sounds good so I definitely want to try them next time. There was a live band playing which is always a plus! From what I can remember, Heavy Seas Beer is a really great craft beer venue. I stopped here at the end of a full day of cesft beer tasting. My hotel room was not ready and I thought this could be a target of opportunity. The BEER: I remember Red Eclipse American Stout 10% ABV... tastes like a barley wine with all the residual flavor. I could drink this every day for the rest of my week, if my Monday was Sunday. Sooooo very beautiful. I came here for the first time to meet with a friend, and it just so happened to be a BARCS fundraiser. There were dogs everywhere, some for adoption and a lot with their owners, and it was heaven. The staff at Heavy Seas were incredibly friendly and attentive, ordering beer was a breeze even as the tap room got busier and busier. I had the Bodacious Blonde pale ale and my friend had the A Little Loose IPA, we enjoyed them out on the deck in the sunshine. The location is right off 95, it was really easy to get to from Baltimore. I will definitely be back! read more

Heavy Seas has a great selection of beer. They do serve food and there's usually a food truck outside. There's plenty of parking in their private lot. They also offer brewery tours. My favorite beer is the TropiCannon, which has crisp citrus notes without being too overly hoppy, There is also plenty of seating and games you can play. They have a back room where they hold events. Steve and I recently had the IPA known as TropiCannon from Heavy Seas Beer. What I really liked about this IPA was that it was a fruited one. So that right away made it more interesting and unique. Sure, lots of IPA's have elements of citrus to them but this was actually noticeable than most and really gave the tropical vibe that so many claim to have. So flavor highlights that you can actually taste with this beer are tropical, citrus, sweet (but not too much) and fruitiness. This place is absolutely NOT kid friendly... the manager was completely rude and for the first time in my life I was out of character in telling him to take kid-friendly OFF of their advertising. We were singled out for even bringing our children into this place. He watched us the entire night. I've never heard the word "liability" thrown around so nonchalantly in my life. Want a kid-friendly brewery experience? Try Manor Hill farm brewery or literally ANYWHERE ELSE besides Heavy Seas. What a joke. If there was a zero stars option, I would've chosen that instead. **edited to add: I understand taking kids to a brewery is a risk BUT we thought we'd support a local business with their "winter release." Great happy hour spot if you lake beer. I was invited out by some friends to enjoy a evening at the Heavy Seas brewery so decided to stop by for a bit. I had not been by since the reopened after thrower initial shot down for Covid. It's located in a industrial area and there is normally plenty of parking available. On this occasion theory weren't too many people inside. You still have to wear a mask when you aren't actively eating and drinking. They do not have a kitchen but most days there is a food truck on site. On this day there was Koopers Chow Hound that serves burgers. There are QR codes on the tables so you can order and pay without ever leaving your seat. The tap list changes from time to time. They keep some of the staples on there but they have seasonal and limited releases. If you are unfamiliar with a particular beer the knowledgeable staff will be more than happy to tell you all about it. They will also offer you a sample to help you decide. I got a flight to try some of the beers I have never tasted before. K noticed their weekend tours are back so I will have to come back soon for that experience. read more

Always a great visit- we haven't been to Heavy Seas in a very long time, last time was way back when-before they expanded with the game room-so it was nice to check out how they expanded out seating and activity wise. Pro: Lots of ample space, they're still going strong with informative brew tours, they're bringing back happy hour events, trivia nights, and more of their old school special events we loved attending! Con: With the Koopers Chow Hound as a staple, they no longer allow byof (but Chow Hound has a reasonable menu price and variety-wise). The majority of the beer menu offerings were their flagships, with only a few specialty brews-hoping as they re-open they bring about some new taproom specialties! Always delightful to grab a flight. My first time at Heavy Seas. I arrived around 4, not too many people so I grabbed a beer at the bar and sat down. The beer selection is impressive, everything from light to dark brews. I was enjoying the cutlass. Some buddies showed up and we decided to sit outside. It was a warm evening. The brewery doesn't have a kitchen but there is a food truck on site. Chowhound truck serving burgers and tacos. I ordered the Macguinness burger, medium well with red inion and pickle chips. Plus the french fries. WE had another round and the food was ready to be picked up. Credit card only for payment. Thursday night and I had to be at work today, so around 8 PM i called it a night. This is a local brewery in Halethorpe, MD. I really enjoyed the small, friendly, intimate atmosphere. I sampled a flight of their Ales that I found to be very good. The're dog friendly, which really made me smile on the inside. With an indoor game room you can enjoy your beer and friends while paying corn hole, jenga, horseshoes, air hocky, and square four. They have monthly special events and outside is the Pieces of Eight food truck that has an intoxicating smell coming from the brick oven. Why go any further than here?! Recently I reviewed the Guinness brewery, that isn't far from Heavy Seas, and I honestly have to say I prefer Heavy Seas for the microbrews, more personal interactions with the staff and patrons and less commercial atmosphere. B'more Snowball blonde ale review: 1/5taste Has no real flavor for a long anticipated craft beer. I'll give the company-heavy seas a 5/5 for great marketing for the roll out of this new brew but that's as far as my compliments can go with this less than palatable brew. I had high hopes for this brew & given the lines today & lack of a much larger quantity of 4-packs available were forced to buy a growler (had our own growler thankfully-or $$ wasted). Company should have been prepared for the roll out today with plenty of 4 packs to buy & seriously spent more time tweeking the recipe to be as described! Sorry I just can't give this a good review-it's not worth trying unless you get a free bottle and don't really expect much taste from your craft beer! Save your time and money & try a different Heavy Seas Beer if you like their brand! Review for the new B'more Snowball craft beer that was supposed to be a refreshing blonde ale with references of vanilla and spices similar to an Egg-Custard Snowball! I'm very sorry to say that this particular brew brings absolutely nothing of taste or even worse a decent blonde ale! I think it's back to the drawing board for this brew!! I'm not a drinker, so maybe I shouldn't be writing a review for this place, but I came here with my friend over the weekend, because she loves this place. She got married here and even though she is pregnant and she can't drink currently, she wanted to surprise her hubby with a 6-pack of his favorite beer. We entered the park area and they have a food truck outside, lots of food options, and they were very friendly. When we walked it, it was a very open space, I liked that. The tables were long, and their bar was well stocked. They had a fridge at the end of the bar for people to grab and go with a beer of their choice. The brewery area is huge, and had a space open in the front part for yard games, foosball, Giant Jenga, and Bags. They had 2 giant garage type doors that they use to open during different times. . They have some big tvs so watching sports would be fun here. The staff was very friendly, the place was busy but nice and spacious, so it didn't seem over crowded. It had a nice small town feel to it, because everyone knew everyone even if they didn't. It was a great time. I'd come here again, just to hang with friend who drink. read more

To start off, I am not always a beer person - I choose by highest percentage of alcohol or weirdest name. But I've always enjoyed the beers I've gotten here. I think the one when I came last was Chowhound - had delish Turkey burger (named Otis - same as my dog which may be strange but I dug it). They have an on site food truck with wood fire pizza and other stuff I'm sure. I am here for the beer. Specifically NorthEast IPA's. Only 1 on tap. See picture. I would have to say a solid 7.5. This was a very cool event. If you're a beer drinker you might want to check them out. I have been here before during Christmas time. They do several tours and tasting if your ever interested. I was here for the Sausage and beer event. Which also is the October fest. It was all inclusive which included a bracelet, tasting of the beer and food sampling. I'm going to have to say my favorite was the Smoked Sausage Edwards Virginia Smokehouse (Hugh"s Favorite) let me tell you Hugh was right!! Hey it's now Sylvia's favorite! I must have went back for it numerous times. It was very flavorable. Tender and juicy not dry. They were outside cooking the sausage on the grill. I plan on doing some research on where to purchase it in the future. It is worth it! They had vendor's everywhere! Seating and tables were available. They even had outdoor seating. They offer free parking which is spacious! The restroom is well kept and we even had Oktoberfest music by an accordian player. It was great! We tipped him well he definitely was very entertaining. Bottom Line: A place that is simply focused on serving some of the best craft beer in Maryland. I really enjoy going to the Heavy Seas Brewing Company for delicious craft beer. I like that this place is basically a tap house on the front of their brewing facility. I appreciate that the focus is on beer and there isn't a restaurant to get in the way of my dedicated beer drinking. Of course if you do need some nosh while you here, they do have a food truck selling made-to-order items that pair great with barley and hops. Heavy Seas offers a brief tour of the brewing facility. The tour is free but for $5 you can purchase a souvenir pint glass and receive four beer samples. The beer samples I received consisted of very generous pours which my group much appreciated. I've toured too many breweries to count so for me it was kinda boring even though our guide was potentially buzzed and very entertaining. Overall, if you are beer drinker this is a great experience and I recommend coming here throughout the year so you can try their seasonal brews too. I sure wish Maryland had way more places like this. read more

Finally got to visit the brewery this past weekend and was so surprised to visit this gem so close to home. For $5 you got a glass with 5 "tokens" for samples. They start off by explaining the brewery and encouraging you to get a beer then you start the tour. The staff loves their jobs and you can tell, they make you feel so comfortable! The tour is very informative and a lot of fun. After the tour you use your tokens to sample the fines brews, additionally you can sit outside on the nice patio or grab BBQ at the gourmet food truck. You can also buy pints for $5 or growlers and/or bottles to take home.The taproom is also really nice and has a lot of seating, great place to check out! read more

Surprisingly good selection considering my preconceptions for their typical pour. I thought they would only serve IPAs however they offered fruit beers, sours, lagers, ales, a cider, and a porter. Staff were very knowledgeable on the brewing process and differences between each beer offered. You can get flights or full glass pours of any beer on tap. They even allowed you to include canned only beers in your flight which was awesome! Spoke with bartenders and found out that they should have frequent/resident food trucks soon! Seating was first come first serve. Communal board games available, good fun for the table! Facilities were well kept, sanitary, and most of all welcoming. We have loved so much of the ales and beer crafted here at Heavy Seas. When we first visited, it had a different name (due to some archaic laws) and Hugh Sisson lead the tour. Now, it's more of a destination to bring the family and friends. Late summer of 2017 Heavy Seas hosted a 5k. It was named for the signature Ale, Loose Cannon and was a fantastic success! I was very impressed by my first visit to Heavy Seas. The brewery has plenty of inside seating, so there is plenty of room when it gets busy (although I've heard they are even planning on expanding the space!). They also have a pizza food truck outside which serves pizza right off the wood burning stove. I have not tried the pizza myself but it smelled delicious. They have a variety of beers on tap, including a dark cask brew that has a chocolatey taste to it. My favorite was the pale ale, Ameri Cannon. It was dry hopped, crisp and refreshing. I also enjoyed their Gold Ale and the Tropi-Cannon. The Tropi-Cannon had a delicious mango flavor to it. read more
