Not bad. Decent pizza and beer. The inside fills up fast, which meant a long line to order and little space to sit and enjoy food. Our party grabbed a high top table, but that was tricky with our littlest, so we went outside to the patio. While in the winter they have some space heaters to make it more pleasant, they only cover a small amount of the patio. We were far from the only folks with kiddos (a lot of babies and toddlers around), which is why I was surprised I didn't see any high chairs or booster seats. Just be aware if you bring littles. I imagine the patio is probably a lot better in the warmer months, but be aware that there's not much indoor space in colder weather. The pizza was probably the best part of the visit. Their "plain" cheese, the "Formaggio" is a 5-cheese blend that we enjoyed, especially Child #1 and Child #3. We also enjoyed our pepperoni pizza (sorry, Child #2, no olives as a topping). My wife got the chicken tenders for Child #3 and they both shared it - said it was solid. My friends got the pretzels with their Jersey Pizza and the one piece I had was good - sweet and salty glaze; I just wish there were more to eat. The beers were okay. My wife and I are fond of sours, so we got the Peach Cobbler Sour and the Black Shadows wild ale. My wife commented how the peach cobbler sour was surprisingly bitter. I tried Diamondback on a whim after a recent work event in Locust Point. Great find! Diamondback is in a converted industrial space and retains a lot of that character. The indoor area has a relatively low ceiling giving a cozy feel. There's a nice outdoor patio which was well occupied on an unseasonably warm November evening. I particularly enjoyed the presence of Inky, the 11-year old bar mascot. He's remarkably tolerant of both the noise level and constant stream of strangers. For food, I ordered the formaggio pizza which was excellent. The crust was quite tasty and slightly chewy though thin. The pizza boasts a five cheese blend and I'm pretty sure there's a decent bit of provolone in there. The sauce was just right for my taste with a nice hint of garlic. I had the opportunity to sample several different beers, all of which were quite good. The beers tend toward lighter styles and correspondingly lower ABV, which was fine with me since this was a stop between work and home. Diamondback does not offer beer flights but the bartenders kindly offered me 8-oz pours since they could see I was a first timer. The staff allowed a cat into the bar, which promptly hopped up on the bar and started cleaning itself. They placed a cushion on the bar and the cat laid on it the entire time we were there. Diamondback brewery is actually a pretty cool vibe. I don't drink, so I didn't indulge in their many options, but my group was impressed with many of their selections. I, on the other hand, was impressed with the pizza. They had a variety of options and it was pretty tasty. Service was great efficient and effective on my visit as well. The outside area was definitely a highlight. It was cooler outside than on the inside on hot day, and decor is very nice. Good for a celebration or just to sit outside and relax after work. I do have some concerns about the brewery cat. I know many breweries have cats, but they don't usually serve food. There is a casual darts league - walk-ins are welcome to play, just try throwing some darts (there are darts available you can use, or bring your own steel tip darts) or just hang out and get a feel for the place. the short - located behind a business area in Baltimore, Diamondback Brewing offers unique craft beers, a pleasant outdoor area, and a pizza oven that churns out impressive pies. details - Diamondback Brewery offers some classic takes on IPAs and light beers, but also offers unique profiles on certain craft styles like ales and sours that were very good (and as far as I know not widely offered in cans). I'd recommend trying those if you're into that sort of thing. The service staff was very friendly and accommodating and made great recommendations for us. The indoor space seemed kind of small for unpleasant weather days, but the outdoor space offers a ton more space for the nicer days. For food options, they have a pizza oven going with a selection of different pies and it's very good (it's not some defrosted pizza situation going on). It's a legit pizza oven and I believe they source or make their dough in a special way that makes the crust delicious. My second time visiting, this visit was for another "Bmore self-made Brewery Tour' to utilize my DC Pub Pass (free beer at select breweries). I had forgotten how complicated locating the brewery's parking was- I had to do a few uturns before finding a 2hr limit spot in the nearby business hub. Once parked, a short walk away from the brewery, walking up gave very welcoming vibes- as they have a very atmospheric outdoor seating area with lots of seating options. They offered a decent variety on draft, with helpful bartenders allowing samples to find my preference for a full pour. I thought all 3 IPAs had too similar of taste profiles, nothing really stuck out. I settled on their base Green Machine IPA, which had a good hop crisp haze. We also split a pepperoni pizza (very fluffy mildly oven charred dough- honestly a bit greasy w. minimal sauce- helped appease the hunger but wouldn't proactively order again) Overall, an average visit- I'm more inclined to buy cans to 'Untap at Home'. mainly because 1.brewery draft prices 2. they don't allow outside food in, which isn't bring our kids to brewery friendly. but if you want a nice relaxing day on a gorgeous patio in Baltimore, I would recommend. read more

The dough was chewy and soft, the sauce was tasty and the toppings were delicious. My companion has a soy allergy and was able to eat the pizza without issue. Also took a pie home and it was gone in no time. Note: It's hidden and your map app might send you to the rear but if you drive around you'll find it. He said I would've liked this one better and he wasn't wrong. This was a light beer! Caprese: 4.5/5. Let's be honest, the real reason why I decided to come! This had potential! Since the weather decided to get colder throughout the evening, so did my pizza. I can only imagine how delicious this would've tasted right out of the oven. Have visited diamondback many times as it's just a perfect local spot for drinks and a bite! Tucked behind a more industrial building and the sports fields of Mchenry row, this place might be a bit difficult to find if you don't know to look for it! However, the location has ample parking which is a major perk in this area. The patio is massive, which is great because you rarely need to worry about not getting a table. It's super cute with twinkle lights overhead, and live music on occasion. The interior is on the smaller side but warm and cozy with their pizza oven going behind the bar! If you choose to grab a table, you order at the bar and they deliver your food and drinks to your table. The beer menu has some staples and then rotates seasonal specials, which I always enjoy trying. The food menu is limited to pizzas and salad, but they have a good selection of different types of pizza that change seasonally. I really like white pizza and they always have several options for me to choose from! I love the pizza as it's always fresh out of the oven. One of my favorite craft breweries in the area . . . . and now they've added really great pizza (SCORE!). Occasionally I end up at a craft breweries where the gotten a little over creative (Don't get me wrong . . . . please put as much chocolate, peanut butter, or orange in my beer as you like.) or the have engeneered the foam out of beer (By "engineered" I mean the haven't quite gotten the hang of making beer yet.). But Diamondback does it right! I have yet to have a bad beer. If I had one complaint it would be that they are TOO innovate. Diamondback is the perfect place for a late summer/early fall hang out with groups large and small. They have a great outdoor seating area with lights and occasional live music. The food is pizza and beer, but not any old pizza and beer. Despite it being a brewery, their pizza is definitely what keeps us coming back. The menu has seasonal items and if you come during the fall, I highly recommend the Autunno pizza- perhaps my favorite pizza of all time! It's thinly sliced Brussels, prosciutto, balsamic glaze, and so delicious. You really can't go wrong with any of the pizzas! The cheesy bread is pretty good. You can ask for a cup of marinara dipping sauce for $1. Blood orange IPA- very forward with its citrus notes and we appreciated that is was tart and not subtle at all. Highly recommend it, and would definitely get it again. Coconut lager was also not subtle with the coconut, but it didn't really work with the lager flavor. I'm a big fan of this little hidden brewery. It squeezed between two apartment buildings in Locust Point/McHenry Row, and has great outdoor space. They are dog friendly, have great beers AND pizza, and the staff is always super helpful and nice. Their IPA, Green Machine is one of my favorite local IPAs. Definitely give it a try. They have large outdoor couches that can sit large groups of friends, or one time we asked to join a smaller group and made new friends! COVID: They are open, but seating is limited to outside only and they are allowing less people. You also have to order your drinks and food at the front and pick it up there too. Went there the weekend they opened and have been a regular customer since. Their hazy IPAs are very good. I am not a big lager drinking, but based on the complexity of what they offer I wouldn't be surprised if those are good as well. My primary reason for taking off a star is that the value and service can be a bit poor. Faced with the option of getting a 4pk to go vs. staying I will typically go. Obviously dining in should cost more as you take up space and require more service, but their service is patchy and I would rather use that extra money to get some snacks and take them home. The one caveat to this is if you are planning to get food as well. Diamonback's pizzas are AMAZING! I know I eat a lot of pizza, and I am generally positive about it, but the pizza here is some of the best in the city. It isn't cheap, and portions are not huge, but the quality is off the charts. Diamondback is located near the Harris Teeter at McHenry Row, but isn't exactly noticeable as it's behind a school, and also downstairs from a courtyard outside an apartment building. I had to ask how to get to it. Once inside, the smell of hops was almost overpowering, but it was too chilly to go back outside. The interior is fairly dark and rustic, kind of brewery interior design 101. Diamondback doesn't sell flights which is fairly annoying. How am I supposed to try ALL the beers without getting drunk??? I was with a friend and we ended up splitting pours of the available beers, so about 6 beers. We liked 1/2 of them, drank them, and avoided the rest after the initial sips. I like beer so I'm sure I'll return when they've got other brews on tap and when it's warm so I can sit outside. read more
