When I initially put my Painting Project out on Yelp, Mathew was 1 of the 1st to respond and though I originally had another company in mind, through continued diligent communication by Mathew, AFM ultimately earned my business. Mathew was SUPER communicative up until my job was confirmed and booked and then he kinda' disappeared on me a bit until the morning of my appointment, which though it had me slightly nervous along the way and pushed me to have a Plan B ready just in case, it ultimately just let me know that he is a man of his word, but not going to keep beating you over the head with communications in between time. As my pictures show, 1 part of my project was a mosaic-type piece in my Entryway Hallway and though Mat told me that he'd never done this type of design, he also said that he was confident that his team could get it done and do it well! I have to say that Francisco and his cohort who actually did the work did an OUTSTANDING job...I was and am quite pleased!! The small bedroom that I had done in addition was a layup from a 7-Footer in comparison and they did an outstanding job on that as well! =) After the crew left that night, I noticed a faint orange dusting on my carpet, which obviously wasn't there before, because my original walls weren't orange prior to the project. I reached out to let Mat know and he explained what he thought the issue might be and said that he'd come out by the following Wednesday (In 5 days) to take care of it, via a carpet shampooing or alternate method. Mat actually called the next day and said that he would be able to come and rectify the problem in an hour, if I was home and available (Which I was). He arrived in a timely manner and rubbed what appeared to be some kind of paint-thinning lacquer in the problem areas of the carpet and said that letting it sit about 2 hours and then vacuuming the treated areas should take care of the problem and it did to eyes less discerning than mine - SUCCESS!! Mathews original quote was the 2nd highest of the 5 quotes that I received, but when it was all said and done, it was well worth it. I never signed/accepted my original quote however and in gaining my business, Mathew told me that he'd probably be able to come down on the price a bit, but that was NOT the case in the end. No harm, no foul, as I have some culpability in that hiccup as well, for not confirming the final price before work started. With that being said; Though I absolutely recommend this company, I'd implore you to be clear on a price upfront!!

Over the next few days the job was completed with professionalism and timely. The crew was very detailed and completed the job to my satisfaction, I also plan to contract with them to do my interior home in the near future. I highly recommend this company to anyone seeking professional painting services.

The contract with the company stated 3 boards on the left hand side of the home. They ripped off 1 board and replaced it. On the back of the house the contract stated 3 boards they ripped off 2 and replaced them. This was the pattern the entire 1st crew. I stopped them and showed them the contract. They stopped work and said our boss will be here in 2 hours and left. The boss arrived "Gabriel" and walked around the house with the contract on his phone. He then stated I was correct and had to run for hardly plank Because they did not bring enough to actually complete the contract. I paid for a better grade of sherwin williams paint btw. They painted the exterior of my home and it was a shotty job to say the least. Sloppy caulking and nails not punched in properly. Fast forward to a year later. The paint is pealing all over the house, even the new hardy plank has pealing paint. I contacted the company via email and they requested photos. I sent over 20 photos of the paint pealing and their response was this is not under warranty. Their response stated it's not under warranty because the boards were swelling. A proper paint job would created a barrier over the boards hence why we paint homes! Go with a quality company because this is not it.

UPDATE: Originally,…read moreI was very unhappy with the job that Fillo did on our basement bathroom remodel and my initial review expressed my frustration about them hiring subpar workers who did subpar work in kind. After I posted my review, a manager reached out to see if they could send a different crew to assess the situation and come up with a solution for our concerns. My husband was reluctant to allow them because they had done such a poor job in the first place and he worried they would only make things worse. My in-laws were the only ones using that shower and after just a few months, the situation had become untenable for them because of water pooling problems and then the grout started washing away. This was on a new shower build that was not even 5 months old. My mother-in-law was struggling and it was really frustrating to see that after we had spent so much to give them a great new shower for their space, so I decided to reach out to Fillo to see if their offer to address our concerns still stood. Diana called me back right away and we coordinated a day and time for a new project manager and tile worker to come out. The new project manager, Marcello, was a massive improvement from Joe, our previous project manager in that he wasn't trying to gloss over the glaring problems with the shower build. He acknowledged that the work had not been done correctly and that the only way to properly fix it was to remove the shower floor completely and start it from scratch to ensure proper drainage. He would also re-grout the tiles. The new tile worker started and completed the fix in just two days and did a much better job than the original guy. It was obvious that this one takes pride in his work and wants to make sure that things are done well. My in-laws now have a properly functioning new shower and are relieved that their bathroom can once again be a place of tranquility rather than stress. I have to commend Fillo for excellent customer service because I don't think many companies would be willing to go the extra mile to make things right for an unhappy customer after they had already been paid. In my experience, the only way to get a contractor to fix a wrong after payment is to sue them, but Fillo did not allow things to escalate like that. They went out of their way and incurred additional expenses to address and resolve our concerns with their work, which my family and I certainly appreciate. I had originally decided that Fillo would not be getting any more of my business but after the way they handled themselves with the shower fiasco, I have renewed faith that they are a reputable company that is worth doing business with. When I am ready to paint my house or do additional work that requires a conractor, they will be at the top of my go-to list because I am confident that they will stand by their work and make sure their customers are happy with the result. That is a rare find with contractors these days and so for that reason, I highly recommend Fillo Painting & Exteriors for any of your home renovation needs.
