The staff member ,Chase, arrived on time , was very professional, a nice person, and had all the necessary skills and equipment needed to complete the tasks. He installed a replacement chain light in our kitchen, fixed cupboard closure magnets, and replaced a few smoke detectors with new ones we purchased. He was very sensitive to our home and his work, use of the time purchased, was very efficient and his overall work could not have been better ! He was GREAT ! Good first impression and experience. I'd reached out previously to inquire about a service I needed, to which they let me know I'd need to go elsewhere and provided suggestions. After that honest and quick communication I decided to try again for a repair I needed to a kitchen drawer. This time the response, again fast, was a yes and a time was offered. The service provider called on his way and arrived within the window. He was able to fix the drawer very fast, having time to do some sanding for me afterwards. This crew is solid. They do good work, and they do what the big contractors won't... small to medium jobs. I don't always have 1-2 weeks worth of work that needs doing. And the big contractors want those big jobs. HedgeHog will do small to medium jobs that I just don't have the skill to do. One was as small as four hours. The rest a day or two. I hired Hedgehog to install a 45lb ceiling light. They communicated very well about scheduling and skills needed for the job. The handyman was on time and courteous. Whenever work is being performed on the house you never know what to expect, and true to form we ran into problems. The previous owners did not put a bracket in the ceiling, they used 2X4s instead. The guy got it all removed and the new bracket installed without a problem. A little extra work but he got it done. Installing the new light took both of us. We cut the stem twice trying to get it correct, then we decided to go flush mount since that was our original plan. As I stated, this is a crystal bakehouse ceiling light weighing in at 45lbs. We tagged team holding it while trying to get the nuts on the screws. On about the 5 try we got it. The light looks great. I would have given 5 stars but I was charged for the entire job even though I was labor to support the job. read more

Reached out to owner Jim no less than 3 times for quotes. I can only say as a new homeowner I had a lot of projects and loved the fast responses so I could budget and plan. Ended up ultimately scheduling for 2-4 hours for 52 feet of baseboard install. Prices are clearly marked on their site and they had great photos for reference. Took just as long as predicted, price was as expected, and the installer Derek was amazing. Derek never slouched for a second and even worked around some unplanned painters that kept going back and forth in the front yard. Today the handymen of Hedgehog completed their .... 10th or so repair at our home. Honestly, I've lost track of the number of jobs they've done for us. They are exactly what they advertise, prompt, professional, polite, skilled, detailed, aware. They don't ask for payment until the job is done, and it's always done right. A few times I've asked them to do complicated things that I was well aware might not turn out perfectly , and each time they exceeded my expectations. Just an example of the jobs: tile repair; drywall hanging and patching; door installation; roofing under a deck to create a dry patio; steps onto a porch/deck; flooring installation; under sink plumbing repair; siding installation. There have probably been more jobs than this, but I can't remember. Our home would not be the cozy and lovey place it is today without Hedgehog! read more

Not recommend. I had the worst experience with this unprofessional outfit. The quality of work is poor. The office and the on-site workers do the bare minimum. They will not go the extra mile for you, they do not care about quality. I had them cancel their work dates two times. The whole house was moved and prepared for them. I had my family and pets moved to a hotel. When the night before start date they disnt even call me. They texted me and email me there cancelation again. Nobody will do any leg work for you. You will have to research and do all the behind the scenes worI. If you don't know alittle about construction. You will be taken advantage of. This is a bare minimum company. Iam so not impressed. As a carpenter I was fortunate to catch all the problems that where arising, I was able to ask the right questions and force them to do a better job. Do not use them place. I'm a small time landlord with several properties and have been using Hedgehog Home Services for about a year and a half. They do great work and have dealt with me fairly since day one. I would highly recommend them. Some of the projects they've done for me include: * Tearing down and building a new fence * Repairing a section of a second floor roof eave. Several rafters, along with the associated plywood and fascia boards had developed dry rot and needed replacement. * Replacing the corrugated vinyl roofing on a patio porch cover. * Installing a new slide in stove. This involved cutting out some of the kitchen countertop and 'bumping out' a breakfast bar support wall several inches. * Replace rotten deck boarding and paint new boards. * Construct new supports for stairs leading up to a deck. The existing supports were getting wobbly and needed some added reinforcement. * Cleaning of gutters. * Application of moss killer to roofs to prevent growth of moss. * Inspection of attics and crawlspaces for any water or mold issues. * Repair a leaky sink drain. This involved taking apart the p-trap and replacing a bad washer. read more
