He was by far the most reasonably priced and also had a special that included dryer vent cleaning as well. He was available to come the following day at 8am. How could I say no? He showed up the next day exactly on time, walked the home and then got to work. He found some unexplained rust at the bottom of our furnace. He had a theory about why it was there and after the work was done in the house, turned things on to try and prove or disprove the theory with our AC. I'm grateful because now I know there is an issue and can get it resolved before the summer when we will need the AC. He also found that our ducts were not connected under one room of our home. He let me know and then offered to repair them for a minute additional expense. Done! He even tried to fix a weatherproofing strip that popped up while he was here! Overall, I will keep this company name and number for future work and recommend them to anyone and everyone that asks. It's rare to find someone that does what they say and goes above and beyond anymore but power vac does.

I saw before and after photos as well as the junk they were able to extract from my ducts. When one of the connections between ducting sections blew apart while they were vacuuming that line, they came to me immediately, told me what had happened, and then fixed the connection even better than it was before. The cost seemed a little scary until I saw the depth and quality of the work Jeremy & Vlad did. The outcome has been less dust in the air and a healthier environment for this allergy sufferer. Better Air Northwest says it's the best duct cleaning service in Vancouver. John was super nice and answered all of my questions. The outside vent cover was super old and brittle and he replaced it. I was watching everything he was doing so I could learn. He pointed out some things to keep an eye out for, but with my setup he said that I should never need service. And if anyone said so, he'd be skeptical. I told him that's why I had his number in my phone. He provided a lot of value with the information he was sharing with me. Trustworthy and all around nice guy. I highly recommend his services.

The cleaning was thorough as they meticulously went through each vent and the main duct system. As expected there was a slight smell when starting the furnace back up (not dissimilar to how it might smell after being off all summer) but that cleared up quickly. We haven't had them cleaned in the 12 years we've been here (I know, I know...) but I really expected them to be worse. They even replaced the filters on the furnace (I provided them). The pricing was reasonable and comparable to similar services. It took about 3 hours for a 3k sq ft house. We also had them clean out the dryer vent.

I am not sure what the parallel is to Hawaii or San Diego. In Hawaii and San Diego, contractors fail to show up to work when the surf is high. In Vancouver... who knows, but getting contractors in general to show up is a major pain. J & M is the exception and they are exceptional. They showed up as scheduled, they stayed within their bid and they did an excellent job of coordinating the permit and following up. I will absolutely hire them when I start my next house and highly recommend them.
