I have never had an experience with a service provider as negative as this. Chris Long himself came out to do the work. He arrived an hour and 15 minutes late. (he called to say he would be late and then proceeded to be 30 minutes later than he said he would be with no call). He had two tasks, both which he rushed through and put away his tools before confirming the job was done correctly. The second job was not correct. He proceeded to blame me for not being out there to oversee his work while he was doing it. I was five steps away inside my home. He merely had to come in and ask me to join him, which he did not. He blamed the prior job for making him late as they "added items" to which he was not there to do. Not! My! Fault! and not a reason to rush through my job and blame me for his mistakes. I have never been spoked to so disrespectfully by someone I was paying to do work. I will never use him again, nor recommend. Additionally, he is EXPENSIVE! read more

A quick update: Two years later, and another one of Chris's repairs now need to be redone. Apparently, when installing a light fixture on the ceiling in my wife's home office, he screwed everything directly into the drywall without using drywall anchors. I hired Long's to paint walls, ceiling and some trim in a bonus room, paint walls and some trim in a laundry room and replace a bathroom fan. The person who did the labor, Ron, did a great job. He was prompt, neat, pleasant and hard working. My complaints have to do with materials starting with the underestimate by the owner, Chris Long, who estimated about half of the actual materials cost. I purchased the paint and fan so the other materials according to the bid were roller cover, tape, paint grid & bucket according. The problem could be due to the fact that Ron used all new plastic buckets (4 total), tape, paper & plastic covering instead of reusing any of it. I could have easily supplied some of the reusable items from our previous diy projects. What happened to "Reduce, Reuse, Recycle? This also means that I am left to dispose of all these items at extra cost to me. I expected more from this company. read more
