I've been coming here since they first opened in 2015 or 2016 and I've never been disappointed! Jocelyn is the best and I can always show her a reference picture and she gets it right on! She's also fast and efficient which I appreciate not having to sit in a salon all day :-) I also feel like their prices are competitive and I have paid much more in the past for lesser quality. I don't write reviews, but my experience at Heidi Christine's was the most unpleasant experience I've ever had at a salon. I felt mistreated and heavily judged throughout the entire appointment. My stylist made zero small talk with me, yet had enthusiastic conversations with other customers during my service. I was blatantly ignored whenever I tried to engage. The way she treated me was insulting and unacceptable. Kindness costs nothing, and I expected it with their steep pricing. In all fairness, my hair looked nice when I left, but no result would have been worth the hurtful disrespect. I felt unwelcome as a client, and I won't ever return as one. read more

Do Not go here Heidi cut off my long hair , gave me short layers when I only asked for a baby trim. We all know a woman's hair means a lot I'm beyond devasted. I now have to go get hair extensions I've never had to have hair extensions in my whole life. I'm so devastated. So be very careful. read more

I swear this is the nicest review I've ever written: This place is garbage. If I wanted to look like a clown, I would have had my blind grandma do it. I mean, do these people know what shade matching is? I'm not f**cking orange kelly. She tried putting those nasty bRushes on my face and I said "no no no, you better clean those things". This girl tried to tell me they were already clean, I said "I have eyes, are you blind?" She "cleaned" them and I said, "with that attitude, clean them again". I mean does every girl think they are like Chris McMillan? You gave me a k-mart haircut and charged me ten times the price. With every service, an attitude comes with it. Best place to go for hair in a while!!! They got me right in, I had shown up a tad early and they didn't want me to just wait aimlessly so I got a complimentary neck and shoulder massage. They have a separate bar to do color and highlights, many chairs and multiple stylists. I went to Summer and she was fantastic! Very knowledgeable and able to take what I said I wanted and made it a reality. There is coffee and tea, many people of all ages here even kiddos! I definitely will be coming back as it was a great experience! Very clean and pristine, felt very welcome here. They also do massages, makeup tutorials, facials, and nails. I made manicure appointments here for me, my mom and my sister-in-law a few days before my wedding. I was disappointed in the salon. All three appointments were scheduled together, we checked in together, however, my moms manicurist was not ready due to overbooking so she was told to wait in the waiting room. This ended up being about 25 minutes... this was suppose to be a fun thing before my wedding and my mom was stuck in the waiting area for half of the appointment. Also, my sister got the full hour long manicure, whereas my moms appointment still ended at 4 despite not starting until 3:25. This salon schedules their employees really tight, so if one client is late or takes too long, everyone else is pushed back or their services are cut short to make up for it. Also, my shellac lifted within a week. Overall the experience was pretty unprofessional, and not worth the money. read more

My hair looks terrible. I went in with blonde hair and darker roots. I showed my stylist several pictures and asked for a darker balayage with blonde ends. Because of the set up of the salon, you sit at a "color bar" without mirrors, so you can't see what is being done to your hair. When we finally sat down at a mirror, I saw she had given me lowlights and highlights. It was not at all what I asked for and didn't look at all like the photos I showed her. I was told to live with it for a little while then call back for an appointment if I didn't like it. I hated it. Then, they charged me $183! And I didn't even get it cut. The prices seem unreasonably high. I called for another appointment for her to fix it, and again showed the stylist the balayage photos. She said she'd try, but because "we put lowlights all the way to the bottom it may not look the same." Remember, "we" did not ask for lowlights. Anyway, after the second visit I left with dark roots and a muddied blonde color that looks terrible because of the toner used. Several hours, and lots of money later, I'm still very unsatisfied with my experiences at this salon. Management hasn't bothered to check and see if I was happy after the fix appointment, so no plans to come back. Don't do it, ladies, spend your $$ elsewhere. read more

Have looked for years in GR for a salon whose stylists are proficient in razor cut techniques...........decided to give Heidi Christine's in Ada a try. What a mistake!!!! Showed Heidi a picture of the style I wanted. I had plenty of longer hair to re-style like the picture. What I ended up with was short layered hair all over my head......and bangs, which I specifically told her I didn't want!!!!!!! My hair doesn't look anything AT ALL like the picture I showed her. She said, "have to cut it this way so we can get to the shape you're looking for". OMG!!!!!!!! Fool was I, to let her continue!!! Now, it again, will take me months to grow hair longer to try to achieve the style in the picture I showed the owner. The picture was propped up against her mirror all the while she was cutting. Yikes, she payed no attention to it!! I don't believe she had a clue how to cut the style I wanted, therefore, made a lame excuse why she cut my hair the way she did. I feel sick!! I received a gift card from my husband which allowed for a massage and facial. When I called to schedule, I asked specifically to see an aesthetician for my facial because I struggle with my skin, and I didn't want to spend my gift card on someone just washing my face. They assured me that it wouldn't be a problem. My appointment started fine. The massage was pretty good. Then came the facial. I have never experienced such a rough facial in 20 years of receiving them. My face was rubbed so hard, and then the rubbing continued on my eyes. Unfortunately, I was wearing contacts, which she never asked about. She also leaned forward and put pressure on my face and eyes, which was not pleasant. At the end of the facial, my contacts were so coated with oil, I could barely see. I was so disappointed with the facial. It was a long, rough, face washing, and nothing else. Will NEVER go back. Have been there a few times years ago, was not happy with the level of skills they had, so never went back. I got a gift certificate for a massage & thought I would give them another try. Very unprofessional front desk staff (she was in a personal call when I checked in & talking very loud) the girls working looked like beauty school rejects & clients leaving looked unfinished & sad. Very low rent appeal!!! Amanda gave the worst massage I have ever had. It was suppose to be a relaxation massage and she pushed so hard on my back muscles I had bruises and soreness for 4 days. I have been going to this salon on and off for years and really love Reese and Joslyn. This week I had an appointment for 2:30 on a saturday and received a call in the morning to see if i could come in early. Sure, no problem, I'll be there at 2:15. I ended up waiting until 2:45 to start my appointment, which was annoying because it was they who requested I move it up. I was the last appointment of the day so I'm sure they were hoping to be able to close early. Have been a client at this salon since 1986. I have had good hair care up until June 2020. My stylist left and the receptionist booked me with another stylist. I went in for a haircut and told her I wanted about an inch cut off. I assumed she would know how to cut my baby fine hair. I was wrong. Worst haircut I have ever had. This was a month before my daughters wedding and the cut was a disaster. I have never been as disappointed with a salon service. I have not had a trim or cut since last June because I fear another horrible experience. read more

Wow! Came into Heidi Christine's Salon and Spa today for the first time. Right away I was greeted by the nicest receptionist (her name was Ellie) I've ever had! I had a massage scheduled, and my masseuse, Victoria, was such a pleasure. she gave me a fantastic massage and made me feel comfortable, relaxed, and well rested. I've been to this salon a handful of times to get my haircut by Betsy, who happens to be one of their owners of at least two of their salons. My father gave me a rather large gift card to spend there so I could get a therapy massage (which was very good!) a sugar wax, and a haircut and color. I came in for a consultation with Betsy prior to my appointment so we would know what we were doing for the actual appointment. I showed her the photos I had pulled, we spoke and decided on a course of action. The day I showed up for my appointment, she asked me what I wanted to do with my hair, I said what we discussed. She didn't write any of it down and said I had written it down. The only thing I had written down were prices for the cut, color, full head highlights, & toner. I did not in anyway write down the colors she showed me. In my experiences with good hair stylists, they keep a record of their clients and what was done each visit. She told me she doesn't do that - which blows me away. I was so frustrated I had to start from scratch that I couldn't get past her blatant lack of caring. She had a defensive posture and just kept saying well there's nothing we can do so let's just start over. I tried, but every comment was met with subtle hostility until she excused herself and another person came to "deal" with me instead. Again my father had purchased a $500 gift card for me to use in their salon, of which I had used for the therapy massage without any problems. Wendy, the new person, asked what they could do to make this better, and at this point I said to just refund the rest of my gift card for cash so I can go somewhere else where I'll be helped and appreciated. Anyway - I wanted to share my experience because oftentimes we don't speak up out of fear or retribution, but for a salon making a name for themselves, they should keep detailed client hair care records as well as massage, nails, and any other service they offer. I got a great haircut. It was fast and convenient. They are maintaining all the covid requirements for safety. I highly recommend.

The salon prices are on par with other salons in the area ($90 for color, shampoo, cut and style) They offer an "Added Experience" while you wait ( which is a choice of a neck-shoulder, massage, hand waxing, makeup lesson and other pampering freebie's) Whenever I go, (3pm or 7pm weekdays) there are a lot of empty stylists stations, which is probably a good thing because all of the chairs are close together and no privacy between them. The salon is in a remodeled house and the decor is Art Deco inspired but the fit and finish of the place is not professional. It kind of looks like a handyman project that is never quite finished. That said it is tidy and comfortable. You don't have to dress in heels and have perfect makeup to be a customer here. If you want a sophisticated, upscale, bright and shiny salon, this is not for you. I have always had great service from my stylist (Erica). read more

Convenient location in downtown Ada. The salon, however, isn't very clean and the decor is cheesy and dated. The staff is friendly (except for the front desk) but doesn't appear to be highly trained (think just out of beauty school). This is basically a glorified Supercuts and I wouldn't recommend it. I was surprised because the website is nice and there are several locations. It is small town style, so if that is your thing you'll probably be comfortable here. There have been a few things that I have noticed while I have gotten my hair done here: I use to like the hair color that they used, it was the Wella brand I believe, but they now use Paul Mitchel and the results are meh.. dull, fades quickly and the bleach dries and fries. Now, they try to up charge $37 to use a product called olaplex on you because the bleach they use is so bad so your hair doesn't melt off. I also noticed that they do not sanitize their brushes, combs and clips...it's just dirty. The round brush that my girl pulled out to use on me looked like it was mangled by a bear and had so much old hair in it that I was surprised it even worked. I liked how she cut & styled my hair, but because the dirtiness and my results with the hair color, I decided to find a new salon. read more

They are okay....but just okay. They seem to be doing a lot of the same kind of cut. All of the cuts tend to fall into the new and trendy category, but aren't necessarily the best look for the person getting the cut. Texturizing looks great on some people, but not with my curly hair. I looked like a scarecrow. Loved the stylist, but didn't really care for the cut. The coloring and highlighting I had done here was always well done. It feels a little crowded and doesn't offer much in the way of privacy. They definitely don't go above and beyond for customer service. read more

I wouldn't recommend this salon. I asked for a color treatment, was told on the phone that Jessica was "Very Good" at this process and was turned into her Guinea Pig. I should have realized this girl wasn't good at color when she walked in that day and had a open and loud discussion at the counter about how annoying it was that a woman was coming back because she was also unhappy with her coloring. She didn't complete what I asked for (I brought multiple pictures and descriptions) and I went back to have her 'fix' what she did only to discover when she was done she charged me another 30$ for her changes on top of the price. This Salon also charges 20$ on top of all their services to DRY your hair???? Why not just put that into the cost or at least tell people that it's not included, It's Absurd!! read more

Really poor experience here. Staff made us feel so uncomfortable and acted like we were an inconvenience to them. The staff seemed to be fighting with the front desk gal and had no issue doing it in front of us. They were seriously whispering about her in each other's ears WHILE doing our hair for my sisters wedding. Customer service and professionalism is not the strong point here. They rolled their eyes as my sisters and I talked to each other and kept giving each other sarcastic looks. We were there for my sisters wedding day and they did nothing to make us feel special. We basically felt like we were walking on egg shells the entire time. The entire salon was open from the moment we walked in until we left but they were acting like three of us ( who had an appointment) couldn't sit next to each other. It was just a mess and really awkward. I couldn't get out of there faster and felt like the morning was ruined. They really need to invest in an experienced manager and get the salon under control. Having some attention to detail and teaching your staff how to go above and beyond... but I don't see that happening. I will never go back. If they can ruin my sisters wedding day I cant imagine how I would be treated at a regular appointment! read more

To be fair I've been here once for a hair trim and it went fine. However, do NOT come here for waxing services! Home for winter break and with 4-week old eyebrows getting out of control I decided to use the services of what I thought was a reputable salon for an eyebrow and upper lip waxing. The girl assigned to do the waxing, Miriam, appeared to have almost no experience waxing paying customers: she got wax in my hair, which was pulled back for this exact reason (which only elicited an "oops... it dripped"), took three attempts to rip the cotton off my right eyebrow (rather unpleasant for me) then proceeded to leave a thin drip of wax across my left cheek when doing my upper lip. My initial requests of "not too thin" and "a clearly defined arch" resulted in two thin McDonald's arches over my eyes. Also, future customers should take note that waxing services occur over one of those basins they use to shampoo your hair before a cut.. Not the most comfortable position. I know this is not one of the primary services they offer... but if their techs aren't properly trained on how to do it, they should not be offering it as a paid service. read more

This last time I went to Heidi Christine's, it was fabulous! This was my first time going to the Ada location, and I absolutely loved it! The building aesthetics and location of the spa is all very cute and quaint. It reminds me of a cottage, beach side feel. Personally, I like this location better than the Dutton location because it appears newer in it's looks and is better interiorly decorated. I went with a girlfriend of mine to get massages just for a fun girl's day out! One reason we chose this spa is because of the fabulous pricing! For a 50 minute full body massage, it was only $48! When we arrived at the spa, it did seem a little chaotic, but there were so many clients there getting services done. But we were greeted in a friendly manner and had to wait only about 5 minutes for our massage. We were actually in a couple's massage room, but the room could be divided by a beautiful wooden barn door. One of the best parts of the massage was the heated table!! I absolutely love when the massage tables are heated, so this was a huge bonus! The massage was also fantastic and the girl who was giving my massage was very respectful as to what pressure I wanted. My friend's massage was so good, that she fell asleep, and she said this never happens to her! To be honest, there are a few other spas that I want to try for massages, because they have an ever lower price than Heidi Christine's... but for the most part, this spa is always my go to for massages because of their low price and great quality! My boyfriend and I went in for a couple's massage earlier today. We were disappointed. We both asked for just upper body massages and both of our therapists did full body despite our wishes. I could tell my massage therapist was either new to the business or just wasn't very skilled. She didn't have very many different techniques and I found myself getting bored during the massage as she would repeat the same moves for minutes at a time throughout the session. She also didn't really work the specific muscle groups I asked her and found that she did more grinding on my bones than working my muscles. She even skipped my forearms and hands, which I specifically asked her to work on since I'm a massage therapist myself. The work she did on me was very general, and although I was somewhat relaxed when she wasn't digging in sensitive bony spots, I left feeling like I still needed a massage. Once the massage was over, they didn't even leave the room at the same time. His therapist left minutes before my therapist was even done, leaving him laying on the table while my therapist finished and then my therapist just suddenly stopped and left (probably because she realized how weird that was). We both felt as though we received mediocre services and that our therapists didn't really care to help us, they were just "doing their job". If you desire massage that is more targeted, therapeutic work (which is just as relaxing), I would suggest not going to Heidi Christine's. I've had one massage there prior to today and it was better technique wise but more just a relaxation type of massage, despite me asking for a bit more of a therapeutic experience. It's been 3 years and my hair is finally growing out from the damages. My hair literally fell out after getting an ombre done here!

I went in for a massage and facial, so I can't comment on anything hair related. However, I did have a fairly relaxing time while I was there. The room itself was cozy and relaxing. Both of the girls were really friendly and made me feel comfortable and relaxed. The massage was pretty fantastic and the facial was just OK. I left with a super sore neck because there was no support under my neck during the facial but that subsided about 15 minutes after I left, so it wasn't too bad, just a bit uncomfortable. I also left with leftover facial mask on my hairline and around my nose, it just seemed unprofessional and was embarrassing when I finally found it. The front desk staff was not a good first, or last, impression. One girl was overly fake and got annoyed when my ticket wasn't printed so she had to print it right then. The other woman at the desk stared at me blankly when I first walked up and didn't offer to help me so I waited until another girl came to the desk and helped me. The first lady then proceeded to call a customer and complain that they hadn't paid for their services. Through the conversation it was very easy to tell that the salon had a mix-up and it was their own fault. It just seemed so tacky and unprofessional. Overall, the services were okay, and good for their low prices, but the atmosphere, desk help, and lack of professionalism will keep me from returning anytime soon. read more
