I am 79 and I usually go monthly for facials for years. Since she opened the salon. I love to support women owned businesses. I also sent my daughter to see FEMA because she has severe painful, rosacea and very sensitive skin. Honestly, I wasn't able to get my scheduled massage because the previous day the aesthetician had reported symptoms and the manager was not comfortable letting her work. Recently moved to GR from Metro Detroit and was on the search for a new place to get my eyelash extensions refilled. After some research I chose Aspara Spa - I am so glad that I did! Booking online was very simple and convenient. The spa was easy to find and there was plenty of parking. Once I entered the spa I felt very welcomed. I was quickly taken back to a private room for my relash. The bed was heated (perfect for this colder weather!). Aspara is probably the best day spa left in GR. My other go-to spa went out of business during the pandemic, and I'm glad to see that Aspara is still here. I just moved to GR and was looking for someone talented who I could trust with my eyebrows, I'm so glad I decided to try Apsara Spa. Femé did an outstanding job, she is a true brow artist! She took the time to make sure she understood how I wanted them, and worked with me to create the perfect shape for my face. They look fantastic! I have sensitive skin and tend to break out after a wax, not only was the wax much less painful then all the others I've had due to the calming oil she uses, I had no break outs afterwords! I used to have blemished skin even though I go to another facial place in town regularly. After every facial, I would get instantly better, but after 6 weeks or so my skin went back where it was before. There was no gradual improvement. I didn't understand why as I was young in 20s, eat regular and healthy, and exercise regularly. The only reason I could think of is the product they used. So I decided to switch to Apsara after a quick Yelp search. I have been working with Feme for 5-6 months now and I can say confidently that my skin has been significantly getting better. Feme is honest and willing to work with my price constraint. She does so much more to help and makes me feel she really care. We work together based on my traveling schedules and events occur in my life. Feme doesn't force any purchase but if you ask for recommendation, she always has one. I wanted to love this spa, really I did. My husband got me a gift certificate for Mother's Day and I wanted to get a pampering pedicure. The description of the spa pedicures are very appealing. The spa is lovely, and when you first walk in, the amount of high end products they carry is very impressive. However, the room the pedicures are done in is very cluttered and not very spa-like. They do not have a pedicure/spa chair; just a leather chair and you put your feet into a bowl. No little jacuzzi tub for your tootsies; no massage chair for your back :( Description says the pedicures are 1 hour, 15 minutes; mine lasted approximately 35 minutes. The massage portion of the pedicure (my favorite part) was extremely short and she had a very light touch. In summary, the pedicure experience was completely underwhelming. read more

Have visited Apsara once before but went back a couple days ago to support the GRABB #30Days30Dollars challenge. Crystal did an AMAZING job on my mani/pedi. I came in there with Freddy Krueger hands and feet and left feeling like a hand and foot model. Very clean, professional job. Wish I could give 5 stars but the chair you sit in for mani-pedi is not comfy at all. You cannot recline when your feet are in the bath, which is for most of the pedi. There is a pillow for back support but it does not suffice! And after all that work, the polish got smudged when I was paying because there is no nail dryer in the salon! So that was frustrating. It's mostly a first-class experience here, but would love a couple adjustments to really feel I'm getting my money's worth. I don't mind paying more but also expect a near-perfect experience for the price point! P.S. Really appreciated the vegan options. read more

I got my lash extensions done for the first time by Paige. She did an AMAZING job! I am an esthetician so I understand the process, but have never actually gotten them put on before now. She explained the whole process as she was going, she was also very conscious on making sure that I was comfortable the whole time. It is a long process so it was extremely nice to know that she cared how I was doing. Not only is she talented but she is excited to be there!
