I was really looking forward to Ethos Day Spa, the amenities caught my attention and I was excited to try their HydraFacial. While the amenities were what made my experience a little better, I was unfortunately very disappointed in my facial, it did not meet my expectations - especially considering the price. While the aesthetician was very kind the experience felt short in many ways. One major reason was the amount of serum that ran down my neck and into my ears. It felt messy and was uncomfortable. Also, normally when I get HydraFacials at other spas the service includes at least a brief neck and or scalp massage which adds to the experience and relaxation which I never received considering it is a higher end spa service. For the cost I had higher expectations and attention to detail. Unfortunately I will not be returning. read more

OMG. This place is PERFECT! So happy a friend recommended it or I would have been going to a different place over and over again. I had the most pleasant afternoon here. I came here for a facial and enjoyed a couple hour experience checking out the sauna and hot tub and other relaxation spaces. I had hot tea at one point and prosecco at another point and then they had a little snack menu if I wanted to camp out for the afternoon too. It was a very quiet and chill day so I didn't run into many people. Service was great. Wonderful place to escape. Bring a book and put away your phone. My only complaints? 1. I had wanted to schedule a massage too but was told the massages were booked but that they'd put me on a cancellation list (I was flexible on any time that day). While in the hot tub, I sat next to someone who said she called that morning on a whim to get a massage with her husband and they were both able to get spontaneously get in! I was a little bummed that I didn't get a call about the openings. And 2. The hot tub faces the parking lot on one end and the water system on the other end so I think it would be nice to have some landscaping bushes go all the way around the (small) outdoor perimeter so I'm not looking at cars or big green boxes during my relaxation time. But overall, a great day. I also wish they had some warm and cozy snacks as everything on the list was cold/pre-packaged granola bar-type things. But I would return anytime! Just book in advance because I scheduled several weeks out and they were pretty full. read more

What a perfect place. Everything here is top notched the place is gorgeous and the staff is super friendly and helpful. This was my first spa experience and it was everything and more. My husband booked me a full day here for our anniversary, and I never felt so relaxed! Carissa did my mani and pedi and was accommodating when I ended up not liking my original polish color. Brooklyn did my facial and was awesome at explaining the products and tools she was using. Andrea did my massage and was such a sweetheart. We had great conversations and she had me in stitches with laughter. I loved that the place is so committed to the environment and respective of their footprint. If you have had Ethos on your radar, but just haven't booked for whatever reason, don't wait. Ethos is a beautiful oasis of pampering. The location is great, the parking is great, and then you enter the spa! I wish I had discovered Ethos sooner, but I'm here now. I had my first service with Janet; a 5 star pedicure! I would recommend the spa side of the business. My husband bought me a gift certificate for a gel manicure, facial, and massage. Facial and massage were great!!! The nails on the other hand are a bit of disaster. First of all, the technician complained most of the time. Her main complaint was that I had on shellac/gel nails on prior to my visit. I explained that I get my nails done every 3 weeks so yes, I had some gel left on them. The biggest surprise was at the end of my day, they charged me $35 for gel removal. As most every person on the planet knows you can get a gel manicure and removal for $35 almost any nail place you go to. When I questioned the charge, the receptionist said it is a laborious job (taking polish off) and that is why it is costly. I paid the additional fee and left, but now 3 days later I have three nails already chipped. So not only is there a HUGE premium to go there, but they do not do a good job. Again, I have my nails done about every 3 weeks so I know how long they should last. read more

My three daughters and I went to Ethos Day spa two weeks ago. They had gotten me the special gift of a spa day for my birthday and I was really looking forward to it. We had massages and facials. Everything on that part was wonderful and we did really enjoy it. We did spend some time in the hot tub. But after I went home, I'd say about 36 hours later I began developing a rash right along my swimsuit line. I kept thinking it was going to get better, but it just kept getting worse. I finally ended up going to urgent care. They said it was hot tub folliculitis. needless to say I was shocked. This was the first hot tub I had been in over a year,so there is no question it was from Ethos. Anyways, it's currently been two weeks and the rash is not fully gone but it is getting better than when it started. Now honestly, I would not even be writing this review if it wasn't for the lack of communication regarding this situation. I had wrote multiple emails explaining what happened. I didn't want this to happen to anyone else. I didn't hear any response from my emails so I did end up calling them and talking to a manager. She requested I send in paperwork from the urgent care and pictures of my rash if I had them which I did. I did not hear any response so I called to make sure they received everything OK. The manager told me they HAD Received my email, and she talked to the owner and while they were "very sorry it happened to me,they follow all the hot tub regulations and testing etc. And they were waiting to see if this happened to anyone else". I was just disappointed that things weren't handled with a little more concern? The rash was awful. I was itching constantly, waking up at night, taking Benadryl to sleep etc. The picture I included was just one part of my body. I really feel as if they just kind of blew it off as no big deal. Absolutely no urgency and communicating with me on all of this. I did write this whole review on their Google reviews just to warn people but mysteriously that was taken down very quickly.Needless to say, I won't be visiting Ethos again, and if you do,be careful of that hot tub. read more

This review is just for this process. I was actually looking forward to purchase an experience here as a gift until now. This was the most time consuming and frustrating process ever to do something as simple as purchase a gift card. First I tried calling to get details, they didn't answer the phone. A robot texts shortly after to direct you to the website which I was already on. In fact, I was calling in regards to a question I had about the spa packages they offer/booking extras. The website makes you create a full account including password, address and phone number to even purchase a gift card. (I don't even live in Michigan and will never go here) Finally, I get to the very end only to be informed that I can't purchase the gift card on my phone because it's not supported. Then it directs me to the phone number that didn't answer in the first place . That's a no for me. I'll purchase another gift somewhere else. read more

THIS PLACE. WOWZA. Literally fell in love with this spa within the first 5 minutes I was there!! It's one of the only spas of its kind in the Grand Rapids area... it's a Green Circle Salon, and is so invested in being environmentally friendly in all that they do! Honestly, I have never been to a spa that was so invested in their impact on the earth. It makes me happy and comfortable getting services done at this spa, because I know they are truly making a difference. Not only do I love the values and missions of this spa... but the whole set up is AMAZING!!! There's amazing relaxation areas (with super soft blankets), steam room and sauna (separated by male and female), and then a co-ed lounge with a fireplace, hot tub, and chill pools. I love a business that has a passion for something and fully embraces it in their mission. I went to Ethos for a facial knowing that they use natural products. I care about what products and ingredients are paling into my skin. When I walked in, it felt relaxing and welcoming. The front desk staff greeted me with a smile (and who doesn't need to see more of those!) and checked me in. The locker room is beautiful and has every amenity. The robes are amazing, I kind of need one now. ‍There is nothing that hasn't been thought of to make your visit to Ethos a luxurious, relaxing experience. I was given a choice of essential oils in the room and loved that! The facial, thank you Linda, was amazing. Linda explained which products she used and my skin felt so good afterwards and looked, in my humble opinion, great. This is the best spa in Grand Rapids hands-down! The staff was incredibly attentive. Dre was the best masseur I've had and as long as I can remember. The atmosphere is exquisite. I spent half the day at ethos.. got a luxurious body scrub.. facial.. and pedicure. The steam and sauna to start are such a great treat and the staff are so attentive. You feel like you are at a five star resort! But the real review came from my husband later in the day when he couldn't take his hands off my silky smooth skin.
