I originally went to Dr. Holets a couple of years ago about a plantar wart, and have been a client since then. She is always quick to see patients, very pleasant and informative, and has a delightful bedside manner. Her staff is welcoming as well. Karen is great at the front desk, and Priscilla is very friendly and reassuring. At my original visit, in addition to addressing my immediate complaint, Dr. Holets openly began to tell me structural information about my feet that I had never heard in my 70 years!! She helped me with inserts for my shoes, recommended brands of shoes that might be helpful (they were!) and explained why my feet were doing what they do. (I thought it was because of flip-flops) All this was just so that I would be informed. Later, my 92 y.o. Mom needed foot care that she was not receiving at her facility. Dr. Holets was a gen working with Mom, very attentive, gracious and respectful. We had to return several times, and Dr. Holets gave her the utmost care. Could/Should have written this several years ago, but now have more great reasons to recommend her.! Wouldn't consider another podiatrist. When I visited the office last year, I was completely satisfied as I had plantar fasciitis and after two office visits it was resolved. I returned, as I thought the plantar fasciitis had returned. Doctor Ritter pulled out her ultrasound machine and said that I had plantar fasciitis. That visit I got a shot for the plantar fasciitis. Then I was given the shockwave treatment, of course for $85 out of my pocket as insurance doesn't cover it. I told the girl during this treatment that it hurt a lot. She told me she was using the lowest setting. This was not accurately documented in my office visit notes, as the office notes say the shockwave was "tolerated well without pain". I returned the following week stating that the top of my foot now also hurt. Again, Doctor Ritter pulled out the ultrasound machine and said that she still saw the plantar fasciitis but she also now saw arthritis in the front of my foot(This was not documented in my visit notes anywhere). I was given a shot on the top of my foot that was horrifically painful. I screamed at Dr. Ritter to stop but she did not. I was absolutely in tears in pain. I asked Doctor Ritter why she didn't use lidocaine. She advised she had lidocaine in the shot. I asked why she didn't give the lidocaine first and her response was "well then I'd have to poke you twice". I responded " at least the second time I wouldn't feel it". Then the little assistant came in with the shockwave treatment, which I denied as it was so painful the week before. Because of the horrifically painful experience with the shot and the pain in my heel, I saw an orthopedic MD foot specialist. He advised I did not have arthritis in my metacarsals, but I did have Tendonitis and a stress fracture in my heel. I am now in a boot for six weeks. They gave me a shot on top of my foot, that was not painful because they used lidocaine first. I absolutely will not return to this office. They just want to poke you with shots and ignore what is really wrong with you. Then it seems every time I go, I'm hit up with expenses that are not "are not covered by insurance" (Laser treatment, shockwave treatment, $40 bandages). Then there is the girl at the front desk. This young lady should absolutely not be patient facing. Not only is she always rude, but she absolutely does not know how to communicate. I'm just going to leave it at that. read more

Dr Ritter was very knowledgeable and really listens. We found her office very friendly.

She truly saved my husband's life. S got him admitted into the hospital in time before sepsis took over. Several other physicians that we had gone to absolutely dropped the ball with him. read more

My 1st appointment with Dr Ritter was great & the medication she prescribed for nail infection was very good. However when trying to re-schedule the follow up appointment it took 3 phone calls - 2 voice messages & an email with NO RETURNED CALLS in 3 days. I called for 4th time & finally got a receptionist who said they received my calls & email but were too busy to call back!. There's no excuse for not returning calls. I'll find a doctor that appreciates my business. read more

I had the very best experience with Dr. Heidi Holets! I had read all sorts of horror stories about having an ingrown toenail treated and was terrified to find out if that is what I had. Turns out that I did and it was getting painful, so I decided to follow her recommendation and have surgery. She said it was nothing to worry about and would take less than 10 minutes. Within minutes she had completed the procedure and there was very little pain... More like a few pinches! I was so pleased and cannot recommend her more! I feel like I made a new friend too! After a careful personal examination of my foot problem, she confidently and succinctly gave me the "good news and bad news", as she correctly prefaced it. Dr. Holets presented her diagnosis in a manner that was certainly easily understandable by any lay person (which is not always the case with all medical doctors, as you know). Speaking as a patient who is not generally easily impressed, I have nothing but the VERY UTMOST CONFIDENCE in Dr. Holets. In addition, she has a very efficient and warm, personable staff. You can search as widely as you want, but I doubt you will find a podiatrist better than Dr. Holets anywhere ! read more

Dr. Heidi Holets advice and surgery helped regain my mobility. My original injury was from a 40 year old car accident. I thought I was going to have to spend the rest of my life in pain and discomfort. Not so! Dr. Holets removed an inch of arthritis and removed bone spurs. Imagine getting a Methylprednisolone injection in the joint of your big toe and receiving a bill for $600 for the injection. After speaking to three other doctors I was informed that insurance companies typically pay $2.05 for the medication (Methylprednisolone). These other doctors, rheumatologists, noted that they typically received between $23 and $56 for an injection in knees, shoulders, toes, etc. Where did the other $550 plus cost come from??? There was no indication at the time that a simple shot would be, as one doctor I spoke to, "beyond the pale" of reality. In speaking to their office all I got was glib answers that every doctor charges different prices. But when three independent doctors all were within the range of $23 to $56 for an injection it leads me to suspect that something is rotten in Denmark. Needless to say I will not go back for any treatment because I don't appreciate getting ripped off. The whole experience was the worst I have ever experienced dealing with the medical profession.
