Dr. Cassidy was awesome! Conservative and informative treatment with great bedside manner. Highly recommend!

I do not recommend Lone Star Podiatry if you have a high deductible plan or are underinsured. I visited Dr. Cassidy a few times and I was happy with his diagnosis. He used a small ultrasound machine in his exam room multiple times. However, my last last appointment, he used the ultrasound machine on both of my feet. Unbeknownst to me, I was charged for each foot. So my straightforward office visit cost me $101 for the office visit, $109 for the ultrasound on my right foot, plus $109 on my left foot, for a total out of pocket cost of $318. As a consumer, I disagree with being charged twice for a single use of the ultrasound machine. read more

I can't even believe the reviews I am reading here?!? It makes me sad that typically the only people who take the time to do reviews are sad complainers. My experience has been awesome with Dr. Cassidy. He and his staff are so nice and knowledgeable. I had extreme plantar fasciitis in both feet which made it incredibly hard to walk. I had a previous diagnosis from another Dr. as a nerve problem, but thank goodness I didn't listen! Dr. Cassidy hooked me up with his custom orthodontics, along with advice for other changes, which helped almost immediately! Those things seriously changed my life! I just wish I didn't spend so much time in pain before I went to see him. I am trying to understand how the previous reviewers could have misinterpreted the experience? Maybe they didn't get his sense of humor? He and his staff are so nice and attentive. It was clear to me that his #1 priority is his patients. Again, I'm sure Dr. Cassidy has a million happy patients like me who just don't jump on to Review. BTW.. I have no relation to him or the practice... I am just trying to be one of the few who tell about a positive experience to balance out the winers. read more

I went to Dr Cassidy's practice, to be clear, I did not see Dr. Cassidy, but another doctor in the practice. Really terrible experiences here. The level of care was not good and neither was the prognosis. Not to mention their high billing rates even with insurance. The practice is charged over $200 WITH insurance and without x-rays. And to top it off, the practice is calling for more money, more than a year later. Sadness. The experience was so bad I went to another physician and practice nearby in Dripping Springs. I paid $100 for that visit and included x-rays with a much better level of care and overall experience. read more

I love Lone Star Podiatry and Dr. Cassidy and his staff! They are very efficient. I've never had to wait more than a couple of minutes when I arrive for an appointment. The front desk staff is so helpful - which is unusual in a doctors office! And, Dr. Cassidy is great. I went in complaining about pain in my foot (as it turns out - plantar fasciitis) and Dr. Cassidy was quick to have a game plan. I won't go into the details, but he was flexible with the plan and the improvement is remarkable. And, as a bonus, I think Dr. Cassidy is so funny! It's a dry humor - which I love. Dr. Andrew Cassidy is an incredible doctor! His expertise as a podiatrist are unmatched and I have tried a few different places and he helped me find the problem and solution with such ease. I received the ingrown toenail procedure and I had ABSOLUTELY no pain whatsoever. Not even the next day or ever. My toe heeled perfectly and his work left my nail still looking good and normal which was such a relief because I have seen some people get theirs done and the nail would have a strange look. My nail looks completely normal and I couldn't be happier with the overall experience. Him and his staff are so friendly and helpful and I would recommend for anyone to come see Lone Star Podiatry! I visited Dr. Cassidy because my foot became extremely swollen. I had no idea why it was so swollen, but it was really painful. I had to schedule my appointment around my lunch hour at work. His office staff was respectful of my time, and I was seen right away. Dr. Cassidy listened to my concerns regarding my foot and immediately did an ultrasound, finding that I had a hairline fracture! He prescribed a boot and followed up with me a few weeks later. I have since brought my 8 year old son there with an issue and recommended Dr. Cassidy to my mother in law. Dr. Cassidy has a wonderful and cheerful manner. My first visit with him was nice. His staff was pleasant. That being said Dr. Cassidy did not understand that I had been off my foot for an extended period of time before the visit and had told him as much. As he gave me the shoe - I asked him to go on to his second treatment stage - he then gave me an air cast and told me to take liquid calcium. Even as I walked out the door, I could not imagine how an air cast could be better than propping the foot up for at least 3 weeks. My foot had already done the healing it was going to do. I walked out the door to be greeted with a durable medical product bill I was not expecting and an opportunity to make another appointment - which I declined. I knew in the appointment - as I stressed I wanted to be back on my foot soon - that he had not heard me. As an extra measure I stayed off the foot and in an air cast for a total of almost 9 weeks - most of the time the foot propped up over my head. Today I called back and what a surprise (insert sarcasm) he wants to see me again before he can suggest another treatment. Doctor Cassidy - I'm not going to give you another try when you basically told me to take vitamins and stay off of it - when I had already prescribed that for myself more than a month before you had. I cannot give this very pleasant man a good rating. I wish I could say something better. read more

Andrew is pleasant, but much too in love with surgery. I was treated for Achilles tendinitis and on three separate visits he suggested surgery to completely cut the tendon to remove a small calcium deposit - with a one year recovery. Each time he said exactly the same thing: "I really like this surgery." I recovered without the surgery. read more

I had a bad ingrown toenail awhile back. At the time I had no insurance and had to pay out of pocket for the procedure. ($500.00+ for 2 visits) Dr Cassidy seemed nice enough and made me feel at ease as he cut and poked on my big toe. During the course of the procedure I asked a lot of questions and he was generous with both his time and knowledge. He explained during the procedure that if it "ever" grew back....ever!!!...he would fix it at no charge and assured me that we would not have to revisit this at any time. Well...here I am looking for someone else to fix it because after I called his office last week...explained the situation and set an appointment...his office girl called me today...to explain that he wouldn't be fixing it at no cost and that that offer was only good for a few months. I remember exactly what he said and regardless of a good experience with him before...I now consider him to be dishonest and he cannot be taken for his word....he said "if it ever grows back like that....I'll fix it at no cost". Perhaps if I had bought those darn shoes he would have ....oh well. Maybe he will come on here and call me childish names too...chastise me for how long it's been or something petty like that. Dr Cassidy sir...you are only as good as your word and yours isn't worth the funk that's under my toe nail. Why do you have so many bad reviews?? read more

I went in to get some orthotics because my feet hurt and thank goodness I went in because Dr. Cassidy found 4 stress fractures that needed mending. about 9 weeks after wearing a boot and a few checkups I was able to successfully get my new orthotics! Thank you!! read more

Whatever you do, don't go here. Dr. Cassidy seems like he's knowledgable but completely checked out to patient needs. I waited 45 minutes for him to come out and when I went back the first 3 things out of his mouth are: "What kind of shoes are those, just burn them" "You should consider not running anymore, just take up cycling" "It's people like you that keep me in business" He really seems to care very little about trying to get you fixed to return to your normal life and more about selling some $550 orthotics along with putting down pretty much anything you do and telling you to use the elliptical. He even asked me to stop doing triathlon except maybe a sprint distance. I get it that my big toe joints are pretty messed up but I completed an Ironman last year and was able to walk around the next day....hearing stop running isn't an option. Find a doctor that cares about your activities if you're a runner, don't go here. read more

We've had several good experiences with Dr. Cassidy over the years. My daughter twice had terrible ingrown toenails and he repaired them both beautifully. She's never again had a problem with those toes. Years later Dr. Cassidy also surgically removed a bone spur on the top of her foot with no complications. His demeanor is always pleasant, his staff has been courteous and efficient, and we've been pleased with the results of his care. I'd definitely recommend Dr. Cassidy! read more

- HIGHLY RECOMMENDED - I have been dealing with pain in my left foot for 3 months now and I had another doctor tell me it was broken. I went in to see Dr. Cassidy for a second opinion and he immediately suggested I get an MRI and said that at my age a simple stress fracture should have been healed by now. He set me up with the MRI that day. Turns out I have bursitis. I had been incorrectly diagnosed for over 3 months. Thank goodness I went to see Dr. Cassidy and recommended the MRI. I now I we take the proper course of action to heal my foot. Don't think twice about calling Dr. Cassidy. He knows feet! read more

My 14 year old daughter had a procedure for an ingrown toenail. Dr. Cassidy was the best! Our initial visit was very thorough, the procedure was very quick and the follow up was great. Dr. Cassidy took the time to explain the details of the procedure. He wrapped my daughter's toe with a pink bandage to match her toe nail polish! I went to Dr. Cassidy a few weeks ago, after not having visited him for 5 years, and the experience was something I can't say enough good things about. First some back story. I moved to Austin from Houston a few years ago. I came to Dr. Cassidy to get my custom orthotics resurfaced, as they were falling apart after only 12 months. The resurfacing was great, and lasted the next 4 years, and even until today. Recently I went back in to buy more orthotics. I work, hike, and run, each requiring a different shoe, so I need more pairs. So anyway, I make my appointment, and then come in ON THE WRONG DAY. This is a disaster, as I specifically needed to take off that day for work. Dr. Cassidy's staff says no problem, and waives me right in. I see Dr. Cassidy within 5 minutes of arriving there, and then he personally does my orthotics. Takes only 15 minutes and Dr. Cassidy actually remembers an impressive amount about me from a few years ago (either that or he took really good notes, either is nice and respectful). Beyond getting the orthotics, the whole time we are talking about what to do regarding feet, what I should be doing exercise wise to avoid future injury (I'm 24 right now). So just to recap, I'm seen right away on a day I don't even have an appointment, the procedure only takes 15 minutes, and during the time it's being done I have a great conversation, almost a consulting session with Dr. Cassidy for free. read more

My 13 year old daughter walked in as a new patient. She had what we thought was a corn that needed to be removed as it was giving her pain. Dr. Cassidy spent 4 minutes examining, scrapping a bit, and adding a band aid that didn't stick. He pronounced that it was "just a blister". He spent the next 20 minutes lecturing my daugher about the need to eat right, DRINK MILK (!), and buy the kind of ugly sneakers that he was wearing (making fun more than once of the shoes she had walked in wearing). He mentioned his online store several times and the items we should purchase. He also creeped me out a bit- sitting a little to close at her feet, making eye contact exclusively with her, cracking juvenile jokes- I felt very uncomfortable as did my daughter. And the bill.................. $150!!!!!!!!!!! Definitely not a good experience for my family. read more

I have been a patient of Dr. Cassidy for over 5 years and I can honestly say the relationship has been great. What I like is he is to the point and provides all the options and has been very accessible with a flexible schedule. I have had orthotics made and recently had surgery on two toes which was very successful. I followed his instructions through out the process and he corrected my bunion and hammer toe to get me back to normal. I recommend him highly! read more

I had my first appointment this morning with Dr. Cassidy at Lone Star Podiatry. I will admit to being a bit nervous and felt sure I would be getting an injection in my foot. After meeting Dr. Cassidy he put me at ease. He is so knowledgeable and explained everything about my feet, legs, shoes, etc. and answered questions even I didn't have! Don't waste your time and money. My husband went there with horrible calluses all over his heels, he can't bend over to clip his toenails or do any maintenance on his feet due to his age and having four metal joints . The doctor said well what do you want me to do? We told him remove the calluses all around his heel and general maintenance and advice about his feet with the neuropathy that he suffers from. The doctor said I don't both calluses it's bad for my health breathing in the dust! What are masks for? Why are you a doctor if you don't want to get you hands dirty? He proceeded to bore about wearing the right fitting shoes and to buy some holistic cream. After I nagged at him a little bit he took out a little knife and cut two little lesions on my husband's heal to make a start for us to go home and do it ourselves , his exact words. I then had to ask him about cutting my husband's toenails. He clipped just a few nails and acted like it was the most distasteful thing he had ever done and as each nail fell to the ground he would pick it up and slowly deposit each nail into a garbage can. We left feeling like the $35 copay we spent was way too much and would have been better off spent going to get a pedicure. He never addressed my husband's neuropathy, hammer toes anything useful. Then wanted us to make a follow-up visit to see what progress we had made in working on the calluses on my husband's feet! Then we got the bill from the insurance company for $536.00. Dr. Cassidy billed clipping the toenails as debriding the nails. My insurance company said I should report that as possible fraud. I spoke to the doctor's office about my concerns with the care and the amount billed. They are not willing to adjust anything and stand by their charges. Needless to say we will never be going back there. read more

My wife went to see Andrew Cassidy and his services were OK. I pay the bills and follow up on the insurance. I can't believe how unprofessional this office has been. Their recorded message cuts off the phone number to call for emergencies. Their billing process is archaic. The bill we received in the mail is printed on paper that causes the printing to fade within a week. I do not recommend using their services. Too many other choices that know what they're doing. read more
