This has been my daughter's primary care physician since birth. My wife lives near this pediatrician and I was the one who found this place and suggested she go there more due to convenience of it being close. I regret this decision with all my heart. I am unable to come to my daughter's appointment due to work so my wife handles doctor visits. Almost every visit even if it's a routine check up there's something wrong. The times my daughter has been sick the doctor has been rude and used excessive force to inject her or calm her down. The front desk people laugh and don't care for their patients. Today 3/3/26 my daughter went in for a physical needed for school. This appointment took 1 month to schedule and upon arrival the front desk staff said the doctor was in a meeting and they would not be able to see her. This is a mandatory physical the school is requesting why not call patients ahead of time and let them know no one will be seen today? They laughed at my wife when she requested my daughter's medical records so she can look for a new doctor. They are unprofessional and heartless. I thank god I wasn't there to witness this because I won't let this attitude and evil slide. read more

I went to ANOTHER Dr for my son. My appointment was at 9:45 and left we by 10:30. It made me realize that there's way better DRS out there. It also made me realize how horrible a doctor Heidi winkler is. You should really consider going somewhere, anywhere else. Not only were they patient & compassionate, they also gave my baby bubbles & stickers after his shot. If you want a good drs experience for your kids, DON'T go to Heidi Winkler. She's overworked & money hungry & doesn't care about her patients. Proven by not giving my baby antibiotics for his ear infection. No small things like toys for after she was rough with my kid & had inexperienced people giving shots to moving children. And by the fact that the waiting room is always overwhelmingly full. Dr. Winkler was my son's pediatrician until we moved to MN when he was five. She was attentive, kind, and took her time to make sure she'd answered all of my questions. As a young single mother at the time, she never spoke down to me or made me feel like my input and observations weren't valid. She always took me and my concerns seriously. Dr winkler was my sons pediatrician back in the day but when I say to this day( he is now 23 )I am still thankful to my friend for referring me to her, I meant it. Two ther Drs were brushing off my concerns but as son as I seen Dr winkler she listened and referred me out for testing and consultation with no hesitation and my son received the care and services he needed. The office is conveniently located, it's one office no elevators or parking structures. I know Dr Winkler has many years of experience, I called her office and was seen a day later. She gave me my annual physical since it was due. She is very thorough, evaluated my injury that brought me and ordered a test and referred me. Although she did, Dr. Winkler is still involved and has been there for me. She is a solid doctor. Dr Winkler is caring and understands her patients needs. The staff are very friendly and helpful, they seem to like working together. I am so glad I came to her. read more

Maria is very rude and not helpful at all. I was in pain and she put me to the back of the line due to copayment not being upfront. I asked her is this a new policy. I'm always seen first. then she said you can talk to the doctor. Heidi winkler is the worst person ever. she told me I could not be her patient any more due to being to young for my condition. She said she has children to tend to and that I wasn't important then she claimed I lied about my condition and pressed having a copay when I already payed. Their front desk receptionist was rude over the phone and even ruder in person. Foul attitude as soon as they opened at 8:30 a.m. which is telling since they hadn't even had any patients to assist yet. I asked for a receipt after sitting down and realizing they had taken my money and ID and didn't provide me with one. I went up again because I asked for both and she was rude about it-didn't even look up at me when responding. I received my "receipt" on an excused sick note- not acceptable from a medical practice and looked unprofessional. Bare minimum bar is far below what they're operating at. I would absolutely try any other clinic before waiting hours here. Won't be coming back for any other services in the future and will not continue as a patient at this clinic. read more

I would give this clinic no stars!!! worst clinic ever. I went in today for an appointment I made a month ago. Apparently the staff that took my call never booked it how unprofessional is that. Second of all spoke to a guy seems to be the manager he never told me his name or title, just told me "we can't see the patient because you don't have an appointment today " gave me the option of scheduling next week. I took PTO and requested this a month in advance and I explained that to him. I got no apoligize for this I didn't even get an option to wait as a walk in. Dr. Winkler has cared for 3 generations of my family. My mother, my daughter and myself for over 10 years. She is the best to trust your family's health care needs. She and all her staff are efficient and helpful. She even still ask how's my mother even after my mom had to change Dr. She great at what she does and really cares. There is never appts for your child's needs right away. And the only way they see your child is if you go for the walk ins. Each time I went it in was a 1:30- 2:30 hr wait!! It's really frustrating to wait that long and the amount of inters you have to talk to before she comes in to see you. The staff and nurses are nice. But Dr. Winkler can be rude and very dismissive when you tell her about your concerns. For me personally I would not recommend anyone to go to this clinic. read more

This office is very dirty; stained chairs, dusty floor, etc. The doctor and nurses did not wash their hands in front of me (which I always see doctors and nurses do in every other office I've been to), and did not wear gloves, and went to touch me with bare hands. This made me uncomfortable. The receptionist asked me what I was there for, I said an office visit, and she kept insisting I tell her what my issue was - in front of the whole waiting room - I told her I didn't want to say it in front of everyone. I let the doctor know this happened. Needed a referral for a specialist, been on the phone back and forth 7 times now; them saying they faxed it, the other office saying they never received it. The receptionist told ME to call the other office and ask for a better fax number. They refuse to email it, saying they can't. So now, I'm going to pick it up in person and hand deliver it myself. Placed on long holds. Just not professional. You will have to repeat everything you say to every person you see, even though it's written down and in the computer. Just fyi. I was told by the doctor that they do not, and will not use CVS pharmacy, and that I have to use their local pharmacy only. That seems very strange to me. So I had to switch to that pharmacy. That pharmacy seemed nice enough, but my prescription still isn't ready after 2 days. As soon as I get my prescription, blood test results, and referral straightened out; I will be contacting my insurance to switch doctors. I only went to this office once, and the experience has not been good at all. Oh, and the pharmacy is in Carson, so have fun picking up your prescriptions. I also just found out that I was referred to the wrong type of specialist. So I had to call back, and now I have to get another referral for the correct type of specialist. I've been dealing with this doctor's office nonstop for two days, and it is the most frustrating thing I've ever gone through with a doctor's office. Heidi Winkler seems kina harsh. She told me all formula for babies are the same and it's okay to switch around..this is NOT true. Baby formula affects babies differently and I later learned as a new mom that changimg forumla often negativity affects your baby! Receptionists always inattentive. You stand there a while before they acknowledge you. NOT good service.There's ALWAYS like 6 doctors (trainees) in the room and you have to repeat over and over why you're there. The worst time was when the doctor filling in for Winkler a Caucasian woman with short bob and glasses called a baby in the womb a parasite!! And basically asked me if I wanted an abortion. And told me I should do whatever I want instead of telling me what I need to do to best care for my pregnancy. I would switch doctors but All doctors under Medi-cal CA are terrible. read more

Dr. Winkler and Dr. Oscar are nothing but great doctors. They put the children's health first, Medicine is sent home or the parent can pick up from pharmacy if they wish too as well. Been here for many years, not sure what happened but Dr. Winkler once had great receptionists . Unfortunately until now , sad to say but I had to find another provider. As for the Receptionist - front desk they're all new workers and very unprofessional and horrible work ethics. Most of the time they're chatting and just laughing instead of getting the work done, and needs more training. Most of the time they don't know what they're doing, they have no urgency or real standard of care . phones are never answered to schedule appointments. When they are answered, they put you on hold for a long wait time or will hang up. When appointments are scheduled, you are still not being seeing at your appointment time. Walk-in or appointments be expecting to spend half of your day here , most 3-4 hours. All hand to Dr winkler and Oscar I could tell right off the bat that she/he is a very kind and caring family Dr who truly pays attention and listens to her patients and their concerns and makes sure you are well taken care of. read more

ZERO STAR if I could! DON'T come here unless you want to wait 3 hours to be seen!! Checked in early @8:30am because that's when they open. I came in as a walk in with my daughter who was having a high fever and other symptoms. When I checked in I mentioned to the front desk that I am here as a walk in because my daughter was having fever/flu symptoms. They just asked for the patients name and dob (didn't ask for any insurance card). It's now 10:00am I ask how much longer and they say they're checking the insurance but they never asked for my card... so around 10:30am I ask for water and if they need to see my insurance card which I then provided them. They call me up about 15 min later that I need to call the insurance # and change medical group??? I tell them I will just pay cash for the visit rather than wasting my time on the phone because it's been TWO hours. Two hours and they're barely telling me?? Like come on, I understand there are patients ahead with prior scheduled appointments but over 1 hour just to be seen is ridiculous. It's now 11:30am, THREE hours of waiting with no update from the front desk staff at all. My daughter has a fever and has threw up in the front outside anI have asked twice on my own how much longer. read more

Total 360 from my first review. If you want to spend 2 hours waiting WITH an appointment come here! My first official office visit was in October with my son when he needed his Kinder Shots. It took them 30 mins to simply call me to verify insurance then 1 hr and a half to call him in to be seen! It was a well visit that unbelievably took half a day. Literally had to end up calling my boss to tell them that I wouldn't make it in. I had previously taken him in when he was sick months before but left because I knew I would be there an insane amount of time. I can only imagine how long that wait would have been without an appointment! Fast Forward to today...I needed a referral for an orthopedic doctor for my oldest son. Even with paperwork from the ER, including an urgent refwrral request, a CD with the Xrays showing his fracture, & my son in a splint (sorta like cast) and arm in a sling, I was told my son had to be seen by the doctor which would take 1.5 hours wait at minimum because he was a walk in...I would have waited in a room full of sick patients (its FLU season) because they dont separate well patients...just for them to take his vitals, measurements, the doctor take one look at him and sign off a form. Ridiculous!! Luckly, I called my insurance today and his old pediatrician is able to accept his insurance once more! We are immediately making that switch! read more

If I could I would leave 0 starts. Dr. Winkler is horrible. I went in to get staples removed from my head she greeted me in a negative bland tone. She asked me what happened and how I went to the hospital. I told her by ambulance she got extremely upset and said if I ever go to the er or in an ambulance again I will be dropped as a patient. She then said she doesn't care if she drops me cause she has more than enough patients to keep her in business. She ask if I was still in pain or feeling any discomfort. I told her no and she disregarded it and said yea well don't go to the er again. She said she can afford insurance and has every good insurance but goes to urgent care. The nurses don't want gloves. When drawing blood or administering vaccines. The wait is always more than three hours even with an appointment. I wanted to change after my first visit. She gave my daughter results the second time and told her she had an infection. Gave her antibiotics and she took them. We went the third time, she read the same results and gave her a different antibiotic with a different diagnosis but the lab results were the same. I told my daughter not to take them. We just haven't changed because my daughter is going to different specialist and needs referral. Today I have had it. we waited two hours and we left because she has another appointment at 11. After 5 years bringing my kids here my experience today has led me to decide never to step foot in this office again. Last month my 4 year old had a severe allergic reaction to Amoxicillin (prescribed here) that began with rash and rapidly progressed to full blown hives. She also began to develop severe joint pain causing her to not be able to bear any weight. We rushed to Choc hospital in mid May and she was in the hospital for 4 days for serum sickness. Her follow ups require lab work and I came here to be able to get her blood work done prior to her follow up. Well, very quickly I was told by Winkler that she had no affiliation with CHOC and that she only has connections at CHLA. She said I was giving her "more work" and made it very clear what an inconvenience our situation was. (Do you really think I cared to think what hospital you have connections to when my daughter was screaming in pain) She proceeded to agree to do the lab work at her office with the condition of following up at Chla. At this point all I wanted was to get the blood work done, but I honestly could not believe how she treated my daughter and I. The disrespect and lack of compassion for the nightmare we went through to figure out what was happening to her when she was so sick. This was the last straw for me, I cannot handle any more dismissive comments and general lack of empathy. This is my child not a nuisance for you to have to deal with. I am not giving you more work, I am coming to you seeking help from the nightmare that began at your office! read more

I've tried this office 2xs, the first time was a few years ago. My daughter hated it because she had to do blood work and the assistant that did it moved the needle multiple times inside her arm!! And she kept removing and inserting the needle, leaving her with a big bruise. Unfortunately had to change drs due to ours retiring & we wanted to give this office another try because it's nearby and the previous incident was a few years ago, but I completely regret it. My appointment was at 9AM & it was already 10:30AM and I still hadn't been seen or called back!!! I've never had to wait that long with an appointment, what's the point of even having an appointment at that point? I understand having to wait 20 minutes or even 30, but 1 hour AND 30 minutes? Dr. Winkler is hands down the best pediatrician out there. She truly cares for her patients and goes far beyond what most pediatricians do. My sister and I have been her patients for about five years now. We moved to Yorba Linda, we still drive the extra distance to see her. The reason I like her is that I was diagnosed in the past as having asthma by two different doctors. That started about seven years ago. On my first visit, Dr. Winkler ran a CT scan of my sinuses and found a chronic infection. After this cleared up, I never had another problem. She also diagnosed a problem with my sister that our previous doctor had missed. Appointments are easy to get and if they are booked, you can still go in and be seen as a walk in, usually on the same say. read more

I gave one star because there isn't an option to give less. Had to change this doctor. Heidi was grumpy and very rude EVERY VISIT. Don't waste your time like me thinking she's just having a bad day. Winkler doesn't take the time to fully examine her patients. She may offer "perks" that seem nice but they are worthless. Example free prescription delivery; well I tried that once and I regretted it because my poor sick newborn son did not get his medicine till 8:50pm (I waited since 10am). She's also very cheap, the paper rolled on the examining table always had imprints of someone's butt or strands of someone's hair already on it. I never seen anyone wash there hands there -NEVER! Patients don't have access to their own office restroom because it's always out of order and I seen a woman sent upstairs to use a public restroom struggling to take her toddler and newborn up 2 flights of stairs. My questions were ignore and even chuckled at with an eye roll by Heidi Winkler. Some of her staff is seriously lacking basic communication skills. And whoever that male nurse is that is always with her in the patients room is SUPER GROSS! The Male Nurse put his Bare HAIRY Finger in my newborn son's mouth (and let me emphasize that male nurse never washed his hands). This place was a horrible experience for me and my family. I do not recommend Heidi Winkler! I suspect all these 5 stars were bought. Oh and one more thing, when Heidi Winkler got angry with me for asking a simple first time mom question, she handled my newborn son with anger too! She's a cheap grumpy sorry excuse for a doctor. You've been warned Just an update to my review: The location address was in Imperial Square. Which is a 2 story building. I put 2 flights of stairs because the stairs do not run straight up uninterrupted; there is a break midway through. I have had nothing but positive experiences with Dr. Winkler as well as her entire office staff. The office is always clean, organized and they run on time. Dr. Winkler and her staff consistently answer all my questions before and after making my appointment. They always provide a safe, understanding, sympathetic, environment, and always accompanies her diagnosis with the best possible treatment and or suggestions in addition to the perfect recommendations possible for my family and I. She is the first Doctor I have ever had that concentrated on the best possible wellness options and her demeanor and bed-side manner have always been calm, positive, thorough, attentive, flexible, and personal. I had the sense that this doctor REALLY cared about my whole being and never treated myself or my family as if we were just another patient. Additionally I could tell that Dr. Winkler has a well-rounded medical background and approaches her care with the utmost respect and it is for this reason and the fact that her and her staff have always been very friendly and welcoming, that I give them 5 stars! I LOVE HER!!! But heads up, her clinic is always PACKED. People complain about the wait & rate her 1 star for it but if you think about it, she's THAT great that everyone wants to come see her. She's not rude, she's just low on energy. She goes to hospitals after the clinic closes and visits her patients that are hospitalized. She will even fight with the hospital if they're not treating you right or listening to you. All of us plus my 2 daughters have been with Winkler.
