Twice in the past four months have I…read moresuffered from severe vision impairment-- "double vision" (diplopia)--from complications due to Botox treatments with Dr. Vijay Bindingnavele. Currently, I am unable to work or drive a car. Only after the second occurrence of "double vision"-- from a 10/15/2020 Botox treatment was my CC ophthalmologist able to figure out that the "misplaced" injections on both occasions were the cause of my loss of vision--both on 7/17/2020 and 10/27/2020. But not before I was given multiple tests in July--brain MRI/ blood studies/ thyrotropin receptor Ab test--all of which were normal. As a board certified orthodontist and health care provider myself, I am not in the habit of writing negative reviews. That said, the severity of my symptoms and the lack of compassion from "Dr. Vijay"--as well as extreme outrage-- necessitated this review...in hopes that future patients should be at least aware of potential danger which may result from going to this doctor. Lastly, I decided a second opinion was in order and had an employee drive me to Houston for an appointment with a "world renown" ophthalmologist, whom was most helpful in diagnosing an allergic reaction I was having from some eye drops my family physician had prescribed a year earlier. After a thorough examination and dilation of my eyes, the Houston ophthalmologist ascribed my condition positively and without a doubt as "Medial Rectus Paresis" secondary to Botox (Botulism), confirming my CC ophthalmologist's diagnosis. Dr Michael Reyes is the most qualified surgeon that I have ever used and I have had many hernia…read moresurgeries. This time I had one ventral hernia that had been repaired twice before and two inguinal hernia's that were very painful. He was genuinely concerned before surgery since I had an umbilical hernia surgery in 2003 and recalled mesh was used which broke and punctured my upper and lower bowels. That one turned into nine total surgeries to get it right, so I have been in surgery hell. He did mine robotically and had to use five incisions to do it correctly. The day after surgery and for about four days total the pain was the worst that I have ever had BUT the surgery took almost five hours and involved a lot of adhesion and other growth removal just so that he could sew in the mesh. It is now day eight and I feel much better and I know that he did the best that he could do. I saw absolutely zero racism because I am white which was mentioned by another negative reviewer. I am also a veteran and we all know that the VA never pays the total bill and that had zero bearing on my treatment. All of these negative reviews with problems are more to blame on the reviewers and not Surgery Associates. I highly recommend Dr Michael Reyes !!!

He then referred me to Dr Martin for pre-surgery tests. I saw him on May 11. Because there were no appointments at Spohn South until August for an upper GI, I had it done at DeTar Navarro in Victoria on May 18. Since then I have waited for a call concerning having an endoscopy with Dr Martin. I have called numerous times only to be sent to voice mail boxes that are full. I finally spoke with Jared a couple of weeks ago and he said my referral was expired. Could I come in for another apartment. I said no, and he promised to speak to Dr Martin and get back to me.
