The grand opening was nicely set up and they had a wide variety of meats, spices, and sauces to choose from. The staff was extremely nice and helpful! They had the rare super wagyu beef! yummmm! I'll definitely be returning!

Filet in pieces on left, filet given to replace the pieces on the right. It was absolutely delicious.

I've been buying from the Brandon store for quite some time now and have always gotten great quality meat. A few weeks ago I purchased a Black Angus filet. When I opened the package the meat fell into 3 pieces. I was a little surprised and disappointed at the same time. That's never happened in all the filets I've purchased here. I saved the dinner by making steak tips on the Blackstone and enjoyed the meat very much. I went into the store yesterday to purchase another filet and mentioned the last purchase. They stated it was something they hadn't seen happen before but some ends must have been packaged together and mistaken for a filet. I can see that happening and it wasn't going to deter me from purchasing another one. So I picked it out and paid and on my way out the door they gave me another filet to replace the last one. Now I wasn't complaining, just mentioned the last steak. I wasn't out anything since the meat tasted the same no matter what the piece looked like. They didn't have to do anything as I already made another purchase and will make more purchases. But he handed me another filet and told me to enjoy. These guys in this store care about their customers. And this customer appreciates it and will continue to shop here.

Great little shop to pick up some quality meat, seasoning, and grill supplies! The layout of this location is very open and gives a sense of organization and cleanliness! They have lots of variety in protein choices from kangaroo to Wagyu. They have some smokers grills but don't expect a showroom. Everything they carry seems to be of quality. There was a short spurt when the wood that was carried had mold and a ton of insects but rest assured this has been rectified and they've switched suppliers. The staff is super friendly, Dirk is very down to earth and friendly as we discussed using our Kamado grills and cuts of meat. Don't come here expecting a butcher, cleaver, and blood spots. All the meat is pre packaged located along a wall either the fridge or freezer section. I took my pops here and he enjoyed it, definitely work checking out at least once if you've never been!

I honestly can't imagine being a small business owner in today's new horrifying Covid-19 reality. The amount of pressure to stay afloat when most people aren't leaving their homes must be intense, but to go ahead and OPEN a new business during these rough economic times takes perhaps the biggest set of balls that have ever existed. This is exactly what the guys at Heights Meat Market (new Brandon/Bloomingdale Ave. location) have done, essentially extending their middle fingers to the virus, pushing their chips to the middle of the table, and betting all-in that the Brandon community will flock to their new store to devour their vast selection of meat and specialty game. Truth be told, I visited this new location on a whim as I was actually cutting through back roads to avoid traffic on Bell Shoals and Bloomingdale when the buddy I was with mentioned that they read somewhere that this new store had just opened a couple of months ago and that we should check it out because they'd heard that their Seminole Heights location had a great reputation. Since I'm a sucker for checking out new places, I quickly jotted into the adjoining parking lot next to the auto parts store where this new establishment now resides, and we ventured inside. I've never been to any of their other stores (Seminole Heights and Land O' Lakes), so I don't know what exactly the layout is supposed to look like, but I have to admit that the inside looked a little underwhelming (you can make your own assumptions based on the pictures I took attached to this review). Perhaps things were more spread out due to virus regulations, but it was basically about 14-15 freezer cases that had signs atop each one describing the proteins that were inside each one. But seriously, who cares, it's all about the product that they provide and based on that notion, this is where my dilemma makes my way into this story. I didn't actually purchase anything, so my review is really about getting this particular store on the YELP map (I noticed no one had reviewed the place yet, so I wanted to help them out). The guys in the store (I'm pretty sure were the owners) were extremely nice and friendly, and did a great job describing everything in the store and answering all of the multitude of questions that people had. I would have gone 5 stars based on my overall experience, but I just have one gripe (which is really just my own personal issue) and that is that they outsource all of their meats from out of town (other states). I'm probably just getting old and cranky, but when I think meat market I envision the old school butchers that are still wearing their bloody aprons from cutting up their meat in the back when they come out to the counter to help you, but I digress. Per my earlier comments, this review was really an attempt to help get butts in the door for these fine folks, so my promise to them is that I will do a follow up review after I've actually purchased and eaten their delectable looking meats, and then give some quality feedback. Until then my fellow Brandonites, go check this place out and let me know what YOU think, and make sure to continue to support local businesses like these guys, they all need are help in these crappy times

Oh my goodness!! It's like meat heaven. I bought a prime rack of beef ribs and they were outstanding. Picked up some tomahawk pork chops. Hands down the best I've ever eaten!!!!

I stumbled onto a lil hidden gem in the Tampa area for you fresh-seafood buyers it's named "Ocean…read moreLobster Key West" Seafood Market. After searching for fresh seafood in the retail/wholesale category on the Internet this little gem came up. The place was a classic hole in the wall find. When I got to the plaza, didn't see the name of the market so I asked around and found out it was around back of the building. I walked in one of the first things that I noticed was the place was neat, and I didn't notice that classic "seafood smell " we all know about. The two owners were very gracious and showed me around. I called prior to coming there and ask them for fresh whole grouper, snapper and lobster tails. Upon arriving, the owners proceeded to open up freezer cabinets and showed me an abundance of snapper and grouper varieties in the whole fish category. Looking at the eyes of the fish, you could tell they were super fresh, just the way us seafood buyers like them. I did have them fillet, scale, and butterfly some of my fish while I was there. I also purchased pre- frozen lobster tails had them the next night for dinner absolutely So tasty.. Here is my pro tip of the day : The afternoon I was there, I saw the sign they had a GROUPER FISH SANDWICH with fries and a drink for $10. (The only thing I'm missing is a picture). You cannot get fresh grouper w/ lettuce, tomato, and onion (on a bun toasted) with fries and drink for $10 ANYWHERE I KNOW OF (ask them for a bit of the homemade spicy hot sauce) tell them Jeff P. sent you "thank me later".
