They have a thoughtfully curated selection of imported Italian products, a refrigerated and freezer section with prepared foods to take home, shelves of authentic pantry staples, a small espresso and Italian beverage bar, and a fantastic deli with fresh meats like prosciutto, capicola, and everything you'd hope to find in a true Italian market. One thing that really stood out was how welcoming everyone was. I brought my toddler with me, and instead of feeling like I was trying to juggle shopping while keeping him entertained, the staff genuinely embraced him. They were so kind and engaging that it made the entire visit relaxed and enjoyable. Now for the food... absolutely incredible. Their Hot Honey Pizza is easily one of the best pizzas I've had outside of Italy, and their authentic Italian sub is unquestionably in my top five ever. The chicken cutlets, salads, and other prepared foods have all been consistently outstanding. I also love browsing their selection of authentic Italian wines to take home. Is it more expensive than grabbing pizza or subs from a chain? Absolutely. But the quality, authenticity, and overall experience make it worth it. Well, they've earned their rating with good reason! A friend and I went on a bit of an unplanned adventure yesterday as the first place we were going to go to was closed for an event. After driving 30 minutes to that place in Plant City and realizing this, we decided, "why not drive some more?". Josephine's was on my radar due to their great reviews across multiple platforms, so we drove another 20-30 minutes to check it out. We arrived at the unsuspecting strip plaza, walked in to what was just one well lit, cozy strip in the plaza and were immediately greeted by Robby, the owner, who asked us if it was our first time in. We let him know that it was, and he proceeded to educate us on everything they have to offer, from their bar, their sandwiches, pizzas, salads, pastas, grocery and so on... the meatball sandwich was calling my name, along with their pizzas and their pastas - so many choices! I did land on the meatball sandwich and got a bag of chips and a glass of wine while my friend got the Italian salad and a coke. For note, this ran us about $45. It was well worth it. The meatball sandwich was 10" and was stuffed with fully ground beef meatballs, seasoned well and very cheesy - so good. I tasted the salad and it was great as well, with plenty of parmesan cheese to cover up the taste of leaves that I was consuming (I'm not a vegetables guy still). While we were dining at the bar, Robby took a bit more time to tell us how the store came to be, being named after his grandmother who, though she wasn't around to see what he had started, would no doubt be very proud as his/his employee service was excellent and the food was no different. At the end of our experience, Robby took our payment and we explored the store a bit. Robby was kind enough to offer me two of their mini cannolis and my friend a scoop of their salted caramel gelato on the house as a way of saying thank you for coming in; again, EXCELLENT service. Since leaving there yesterday, I have recommended the place to 7 people and will continue recommending it to more people due to their great value, service and delicious food. So I have to say this is finally a real Italian deli in Florida that is close enough to my house -- that's actually open on a Sunday morning and afternoon. No more driving to Lakeland or Saint Pete. Today I had a "Joey" sausage peppers and onion sandwich with provolone added, and I also had a doppio (double espresso). I'd like to start with the espresso. First of all whatever beans they are using have an absolutely wonderful aroma and very fresh flavor. Espresso was served at just the perfect temperature in a heated cup in a nice little espresso presentation. Flavorful and also not bitter. It was a perfect espresso. Secondly, the "Joey ". This is a delicious sandwich and I couldn't recommend it more to anyone who loves sausage. This store serves Tony Fig sausage and I have to say I've also had it at Casa Santo Stefano, but here it takes on a whole new level. The bread is crusty and tasty. The peppers and onions are exactly correct for a sandwich slightly crunchy but not limp. Also, they use a very flavorful provolone cheese, but not one that is so pungent that it takes away from the sandwich. I asked for cheese to be added to the sandwich. It doesn't normally come that way by the way. While I did not sample them, they have quite the list of Italian drinks, sodas, flavored waters, and so on and beer and house wine. They also have a complete dessert case, including of course, cannoli. They want everyone to be happy here. I intend to return with my dining buddy to see what rose we can sample. The hours listed on Google and their website are not correct. Make sure you call before you come because they are open more hours than Google thinks they are especially during the week. One of the best sandwiches I've ever had! Stopped in for a weekend lunch and was given the "2 second tour" by the owner. Super impressed by their fresh and packaged meats and pastas (including gluten free). Got one of the special sandwiches with figs and goat cheese which was brought to my table for me. Y'all. It was amazing. When I paused to take a breath, I had already inhaled a quarter of it! We were greeted by a friendly guy, who I can only assume was the owner. He asked if it was our first time. We said yes and he gave us the quick tour. A coffee bar, the market, the fridges with Italian sausage and pastas and then the big board. Their menu. He went over what they offered and what they are known for and left us to it. Without a doubt, my wife ordered the Italian. Ham, capicola, salami, peperoni, provolone, lettuce, red onion and hot and sweet peppers. This was also topped with dressing. A good slab of meats, a bit of spice, a depth of flavors you'd expect and all placed between fresh, tasty bread. My wife highly enjoyed this and would order again. I got the Monica. Prosciutto, fresh mozzarella, arugula, tomato, pesto and a balsamic glaze. The salty, thin meat was the base for this excellent, fresh and flavorful sandwich. I was looking for something a little "lighter" and this hit the bill. A more veggie forward sandwich, the cheese, arugula, tomato, pesto and balsamic brought all the flavor here and the salty-sweet flavor of the paper-thin sliced Italian ham added just the right amount of meat. The bread here was also a standout. I'd order this again too. As we sat and ate, more and more people came in, more and more people greeted the same way we were. Oh my!! That Italian sub was superb. Rich in taste; quality meat and the perfect amount of peppers. The bread was exactly as an Italian bread should be. Little bit crisp on the outside but soft to bite and flavorful. $16 but it is a HUGE sandwich. (Sorry, forgot to take a picture--we were too busy scarfing it down) The lasagna is incredible. I wish they sold their sauce/gravy. Robust and the perfect garlicky edge to it. Nice and cheesy but the sausage is great and a good amount. I'm sorry I only ordered these two things. They have a little of everything, most imported from Sicily. Large Italian subs with meats imported from Italy and bread from famous Staten Island bakery Malone & Sons. Cannolis from Sicily, filled as you wait Pastosa frozen pastas. They have a coffee bar along with several tables to eat there. We ordered the small size Muffaletta and The Monica subs to go. They were delicious and too large to finish. They are in the process of installing the pizza ovens. This italian shop will be a regular stop for me when I am in Brandon. I'm a stickler for quality and am very picky about restaurants because there's more bad than good out there and I'm not into wasting my money. This was the first time I decided where we'd eat and I did my Yelp homework to find this place. The reviewers before me were all on point. This place is owned by a family and it's obvious that they take pride in their heritage, their food, and their business. The Italian sandwich: bread had the perfect crisp to the outside while being soft but still dense inside. The perfect amount in relation to the sandwich ingredients. Excellent flavors. The hot Sicilian pizza had a sweetness to it that was unexpected but very enjoyable. The crust was a perfect balance between crisp and chewy. I'm looking forward to trying their other pizzas! We both enjoyed the meal so much that our conversation was primarily about what made restaurants great vs subpar and terrible. We plan on bringing our kids here as a group. Solid sandwich, got the Italian and shared it with mama, half a Greek salad (it was enormous still), a slice of amaretto cake, and a slice of pistachio cheesecake. I will be honest with you, I do not like cheesecake. I don't love cream cheese and that is the cheese cake's primary flavor. This was so light, airy, and delicious, I will say that this was the first time I enjoyed cheesecake in a many number of years. It's relatively small, but plenty of seating , great food and exceptionally nice employees who go above and beyond to make you fell welcome and help make your choices if you've never eaten there. We had a sandwich from the special board, The Figaro, which had some deli meat, along with figs and a balsamic drizzle. It was a bit sweet, so we paired with a giant Greek salad and day drinking Pinot Grigio. They operate on the minor system, which is quite refreshing, so you order food at the food counter and drinks at the bar, then pay when you leave. No server. No tip. This is such an unexpected spot in Brandon. Josephine's is a small eat-in deli type place. They have a selection of sandwiches, salads, and other food things made to order. There's a coffee/wine bar on one side that you can cozy up to to have your lunch/dinner. There's also a super small retail area with Italian and Italian-American (shipped down from NY) goods. The owner (I'm guessing here, maybe just a manager?) was super friendly and welcoming when I popped in. Sandwich was great, and his attempt at latte art was charming. The dining area was super mellow with a steady flow of visitors, it was a nice reprieve from the chaos in that area. I only by chance noticed their sign when I was stuck in gridlock on Brandon blvd., and I'm glad I stopped by. It's a family owned Italian Market, and new to the Brandon area. It already appears to be popular. It's spacious, comfortable, and clean. The owner's provide great service. It's such a friendly atmosphere. Both visits were wonderful. I had a cappuccino at the coffee counter while I was waiting for my order. I just couldn't pass up the sandwiches. I believe the bread is shipped in from a bakery in Staten Island. It must be received in a dough form. I say this because the bread tastes so fresh. Like it was baked the same day. Yeah, that bread is amazing! My husband and I split the Italian and the meatball sandwich. Wow! My husband especially liked the homemade meatballs. I really liked the spicy and zesty Italian. The bread held up very well with the oil, vinegar, and pickled peppers. We could tell that everything was made with good quality ingredients. I went back a second time on a Saturday because my husband was craving the meatball sandwich. This time, he wanted it all for himself. So, I decided to try the Roman-style pizza. I couldn't decide between the Margherita and the Bianca. I was able to get half of each. It was delicious! I love that crispy crust! I recommend eating it there unless you don't mind heating it up in the oven when you get home. It's best straight out of the oven. It also heats up well, and tastes just as great the next day. It was my first time trying this style of pizza. I can't compare it to anything else. Just try it for yourself. Josie's Italian salad (named after their grandmother) was also very fresh & tasty. It was a great side dish to the sandwich and pizza. There are all kinds of gourmet items for sale at this market. Too many items to name them all. They even have different Manhattan Special soda flavors. I've had the Espresso flavor, but I thought the Black Cherry was just as good. Yes, there will be many more visits. The deli has so many different salads that I can't wait to try. Actually, everything in the deli looked great. I'm also looking forward to trying the Hot Sicilian pizza. Wow! This was a pleasant surprise and thank a friend who recommended it. Not a typical restaurant but purveyor of all things Italian. Our family had meatballs and pasta, palamillo steak with pasta AND THE BEST Muffuletta to be found! The bread is not traditional loaf from New Orleans' Central Grocery but a Mew York baked bread beyond description. Highest quality meat and cheese imported from Sicily and a Sicilian olive spread created the perfect combination for this HUGE sandwich/entree. Dessert was a choice selection of Limoncello, Raspberry Ricotta and a Cannoli cake, Yes, we shared! The shelves are stocked with a variety of Italian specialties you won't find at Publix or Walmart. The owner told us of their baked breakfast specialties that we are going back to try. A wonderful experience on Hwy 60 off Kings and next to the Sherwin Williams store.
