Great ambiance plenty of casual tables to sit and enjoy the food, a diner style bar is also a focal point when you walk in. Italian cuisine and expresses, pastas and cheeses. Lots of imported goodies. Definitely a warm inviting experience. Service is great too!

Well, they've earned their rating with good reason! A friend and I went on a bit of an unplanned adventure yesterday as the first place we were going to go to was closed for an event. After driving 30 minutes to that place in Plant City and realizing this, we decided, "why not drive some more?". Josephine's was on my radar due to their great reviews across multiple platforms, so we drove another 20-30 minutes to check it out. We arrived at the unsuspecting strip plaza, walked in to what was just one well lit, cozy strip in the plaza and were immediately greeted by Robby, the owner, who asked us if it was our first time in. We let him know that it was, and he proceeded to educate us on everything they have to offer, from their bar, their sandwiches, pizzas, salads, pastas, grocery and so on... the meatball sandwich was calling my name, along with their pizzas and their pastas - so many choices! I did land on the meatball sandwich and got a bag of chips and a glass of wine while my friend got the Italian salad and a coke. For note, this ran us about $45. It was well worth it. The meatball sandwich was 10" and was stuffed with fully ground beef meatballs, seasoned well and very cheesy - so good. I tasted the salad and it was great as well, with plenty of parmesan cheese to cover up the taste of leaves that I was consuming (I'm not a vegetables guy still). While we were dining at the bar, Robby took a bit more time to tell us how the store came to be, being named after his grandmother who, though she wasn't around to see what he had started, would no doubt be very proud as his/his employee service was excellent and the food was no different. At the end of our experience, Robby took our payment and we explored the store a bit. Robby was kind enough to offer me two of their mini cannolis and my friend a scoop of their salted caramel gelato on the house as a way of saying thank you for coming in; again, EXCELLENT service. Since leaving there yesterday, I have recommended the place to 7 people and will continue recommending it to more people due to their great value, service and delicious food. Huge thanks to Robby and the team at Josephine's for knowing how to do things the right way. I'll definitely be back.

So I have to say this is finally a real Italian deli in Florida that is close enough to my house -- that's actually open on a Sunday morning and afternoon. No more driving to Lakeland or Saint Pete. Today I had a "Joey" sausage peppers and onion sandwich with provolone added, and I also had a doppio (double espresso). I'd like to start with the espresso. First of all whatever beans they are using have an absolutely wonderful aroma and very fresh flavor. Espresso was served at just the perfect temperature in a heated cup in a nice little espresso presentation. Flavorful and also not bitter. It was a perfect espresso. Secondly, the "Joey ". This is a delicious sandwich and I couldn't recommend it more to anyone who loves sausage. This store serves Tony Fig sausage and I have to say I've also had it at Casa Santo Stefano, but here it takes on a whole new level. The bread is crusty and tasty. The peppers and onions are exactly correct for a sandwich slightly crunchy but not limp. Also, they use a very flavorful provolone cheese, but not one that is so pungent that it takes away from the sandwich. I asked for cheese to be added to the sandwich. It doesn't normally come that way by the way. While I did not sample them, they have quite the list of Italian drinks, sodas, flavored waters, and so on and beer and house wine. They also have a complete dessert case, including of course, cannoli. They want everyone to be happy here. I intend to return with my dining buddy to see what rose we can sample. The hours listed on Google and their website are not correct. Make sure you call before you come because they are open more hours than Google thinks they are especially during the week. Highly recommended!

One of the best sandwiches I've ever had! Stopped in for a weekend lunch and was given the "2 second tour" by the owner. Super impressed by their fresh and packaged meats and pastas (including gluten free). Got one of the special sandwiches with figs and goat cheese which was brought to my table for me. Y'all. It was amazing. When I paused to take a breath, I had already inhaled a quarter of it! A picture perfect cannoli finished off the meal and I got to chat with the owner's mom, Elena and waved to her husband Bob (working the deli). Will definitely be back!

Josephine's Italian Market is a gem of a place for lunch in Brandon. Located in an older strip plaza off 60 near South Kings, you'd never suspect such a delightful, bustling place with top notch food is here. The parking lot is your only indicator, it wasn't packed for Sherwin Williams, the salon or the nail shop, that's for sure. My wife and I wanted some lunch. We were looking for a place as we headed back to Valrico from Tampa and my wife always loves an Italian sandwich. We walked in to a pretty busy place. People sitting about, a small bar area, a little market selling dried pastas and other goods to make your own authentic Italian meal. We were greeted by a friendly guy, who I can only assume was the owner. He asked if it was our first time. We said yes and he gave us the quick tour. A coffee bar, the market, the fridges with Italian sausage and pastas and then the big board. Their menu. He went over what they offered and what they are known for and left us to it. Without a doubt, my wife ordered the Italian. Ham, capicola, salami, peperoni, provolone, lettuce, red onion and hot and sweet peppers. This was also topped with dressing. A good slab of meats, a bit of spice, a depth of flavors you'd expect and all placed between fresh, tasty bread. My wife highly enjoyed this and would order again. I got the Monica. Prosciutto, fresh mozzarella, arugula, tomato, pesto and a balsamic glaze. The salty, thin meat was the base for this excellent, fresh and flavorful sandwich. I was looking for something a little "lighter" and this hit the bill. A more veggie forward sandwich, the cheese, arugula, tomato, pesto and balsamic brought all the flavor here and the salty-sweet flavor of the paper-thin sliced Italian ham added just the right amount of meat. The bread here was also a standout. I'd order this again too. As we sat and ate, more and more people came in, more and more people greeted the same way we were. Josephine's has what you're looking for in a family owned, local spot. Heart and excellent food. We'd come back here for sure.

Let me start by saying the service at this place is top notch. From the moment you walk in, you are immediately recognized and acknowledged. While inside, feel free to peruse the shelves and look at some of the Italian items they have for sale while waiting on your food. All of the sandwiches I had are freshly made to order with the best quality meat that I've had around. They also use Cooper Sharp, American cheese, which if you haven't, had you need to try it immediately! Once you're done eating, I highly recommend ordering a coffee from their coffee bar and pairing that with a cannoli while you soak in the soft Italian music in the background and enjoy the ambiance, feels like your in an actual Italian bistro if you forget that you're in the heart of Brandon.

First time here. The folks that work here are some of the most friendly people you will ever meet. They have a nice selection of Italian imports. We purchased the Pastosa ravioli (from Brooklyn) and some Italian sausage to cook at home. Couldn't leave without an Italian eggplant parmigiana sandwich and a couple of fresh piped cannolis. They had a coffee/cappuccino bar and some really good looking pizzas. Next time! Ciao!

Small little hidden mom and pap Italian market and restaurant in Brandon. Love the Italian cold sub, Josephine salad and meatballs pasta. Really flavorful and good portion size. Can't wait to try other dishes on the menu. If you are in the area give them a try you will be coming back.

Listen... this spot? A whole vibe. It was our first time visiting and I found it while browsing Yelp (because let's be real, I was not trying to drive all over the place to satisfy my palette). BOOM Josephine's pops up and it's literally 8 minutes away. From the moment we walked in, the energy was warm and welcoming. Folks were chatting it up, others were browsing the shelves stacked with authentic Italian goods... pasta, sauces, wine, you name it. And that huge chalkboard menu? Whewww child, I was in foodie heaven. Now let me tell you about the staff. Kelly was phenomenal. Kind, attentive, and knew her stuff. She made us feel like we'd been coming there for years. I believe the manager or owner chatted it up with us explaining the benefits of the dough! I was like ohhh ok, educate me please because I want to eat good w/o the bloating. I'm already plotting what I'm ordering next time. You can tell everything is made with care... no shortcuts, no gimmicks. Just real flavor and heart. Bonus points: The aesthetic is clean, cute, and cozy. They also sell imported Italian snacks, drinks, sauces, cheeses, and more if you want to take the vibe home. Josephine's is officially on my repeat list. Go check them out, grab a bite, pick up some Italian goodies, and enjoy the energy. Brandon needed this.

    Lasagna.

Oh my!! That Italian sub was superb. Rich in taste; quality meat and the perfect amount of peppers. The bread was exactly as an Italian bread should be. Little bit crisp on the outside but soft to bite and flavorful. $16 but it is a HUGE sandwich. (Sorry, forgot to take a picture--we were too busy scarfing it down) The lasagna is incredible. I wish they sold their sauce/gravy. Robust and the perfect garlicky edge to it. Nice and cheesy but the sausage is great and a good amount. I'm sorry I only ordered these two things. I'll be back for sure. The owners were so helpful and courteous and you could tell proud of this quality family product they have made. You should definitely go!!

Saw the reviews and decided to give it a try. The owner greeted me and said you new? first time? I said yes and he told me they had the best Italian. After reading the reviews I thought I'd get the Monica but I got the italian and didn't regret it. It looked beautiful almost perfect for any sandwhich I've seen, but that first bite...the meat quality and flavors complimented each other so well. I kept look8ng at the menu wondering what was next. The place felt like a little Italy, nice and cozy. Definitely got to come back. Wish there was one of these in Jacksonville.

Relaxed seating area and everything is a bit mismatched, but that just adds to the vibe. The bathrooms are STUNNING. I've never been to a cafe with a bathroom that fancy whoa. Naida makes some tasty Cuban sandwiches here for a good price. The star of the sandwich is Naida's roast pork. It's well seasoned and it totally makes this sandwich shine. I usually get it with everything, but I keep forgetting that they'll include onions if you ask for it "all the way." It's good with or without it, but I prefer it without. Just keep that in mind and be specific if you don't want onions on your sandwich. Naida also makes the best café con leche. I sometimes go there just for Cuban toast and that awesome coffee. It gives me energy! They have a small hot bar area of daily offerings with some kind of rice and beans. It may change daily. I haven't ordered a platter, but I will one day. They do have a tasty arroz con salchichas side item. My mom used to make it sometimes with those little canned Vienna sausages. Yeah, it's a comfort thing for me. They also make wonderful breakfast sandwiches and ham croquettes. El Cuba Cafe is hidden inside of a Circle K convenience store on Bell Shoals Road. It's directly across the street from Publix at Bloomingdale Square. I know it has Cuba in the name, but their is a lot of Puerto Rican representation here. That may also be why I'm so fond of it. It's also super convenient, and the service is great. I usually drive in the back way to avoid all the construction nearby. There's no dining area. You just order your meal and take it with you.
